It's shocking how little people in USA - including D.L. - know about skiing. In Europe it's much more popular and it's common to watch the races at least on TV. Lindsey is really cute and nice and a true champ.

Anyone who thinks Letterman didn't know all the answers in advance - and way more besides - is being naive. He had the usual droll jokes set up for each response, just like he had the corny German phrases queued up. The point was to give her something to say and educate the audience which doesn't know the answers - what was she going to do, give her opinion on how to solve the European debt crisis?
