  • put me to sleep in the first 30 min. BORING film

  • What'd your name stupid white man?

  • vette shit

    adim

  • Fantastic Movie indeed !!! VERY Powerful and so very moving !!! Nobody is BEAUTIFUL in every way !!!!

  • A Great film by all aspects (including the song)! the most powerful idea about death i ever seen. We desperately need "Nobody", death is a strange place. The turning point of our lives comes with a sound shot almost always but we rarely listen. Nobody is the inner voice on our side, to help, calm and prepare us to go with it

  • "The Round Stones Beneath the Earth", theme used on the beginning and ending credits. It wasn't included in the soundtrack CD but released as a promo single. There much confusion around this, so it would be good if you add this info in your description

  • I wish I had seen Dead Man on the big screen. I just watched it on DVD, which I do not recommend, because the guitar is too loud. Perhaps you don't notice it in a movie theater, because of the big, high quality speakers. But at home, the volume of the music is three times that of the dialogue. You gotta keep turning it down when Neil noodles, then up again when there is dialogue.

  • I've flown across this country and seen what what we have done to it. Have you?

  • the round stones on the earth have spent a long time ooking up at the sun.

  • Jim Jarmusch has made a "modern" silent movie. Depp's face was made for the close up.

  • "Every night and every morn, some to misery are born. Every morn and every night, some are born to sweet delight. Some are born to sweet delight, some are born to endless night." William Blake from "Auguries of Innocense".

  • In my top 5 movies of all time.

  • @GreatKiskadee Top 3 for me! The Sacrifice and The Seventh Seal the other 2.I could never imagine that so many people actually feels the same way. I feel much less like:

Why was I born with a difference face

Why was I not born like the rest of my race

    When I look people start

    When I speak I offend

Then I remain distant and silent

    And lose every friend

    William Blake

  • AWESOME movie AWESOME music ......long live Neil young ...

  • What a great sound track .Like star wars cannot be explained

    regards

    jimmy

  • Cliche but does it get any better than this?

  • Stupid fuckin white man

  • Hey-yo...hey-yo hey-yo

    I...don't care....if you've been married...sixteen times...

    I...still love you...

    Yo-hoi...yo-hoi...

  • even his voice is hot. mmmm..

  • My favorite line from this movie is when Nobody said, "Your people's quest for Jesus Christ is my people's greatest enemy."

  • a poem! amazing

  • Parallels in a random metaphorical way i should say. ; )

  • Johnny reads William Blake in this piece. The movie parallels His character William Blake the accountant with William Blake the artist, visionary. A must see "cult" film by director Jim Jarmusche.

  • @jfly235 the character William Blake's life doesn't really parallel the life of the poet, but I agree this is cult film that towers & should be seen by more people. Namaste

  • great film

  • love it !

  • unique film, great score by neil.

  • Hey, guys, I just uploaded Dead Man! WHOLE MOVIE in 12 parts. It`s on my channel check it out and enjoy! ;)

  • ...one of my favorite movies...

  • This is one of the most bizarre movies ever made and sadly most Johnny Depp fans probably have no idea it exists. Thank you for posting this.

  • in a way I'm glad the new geeeneration of irritating teeny girl fan's of his dont know about this film

  • one of the best westerns ever made!!

  • very good movie very good music ... actors and story. all very good.

  • film e musica geniali

un viaggio mistico che rappresenta la vita dalla nascita alla morta con quel misticismo oramai secolarizzato in quasi tutti i registi e musicisti

  • Sorry. I'm not sure where that came from. It's worth paying money to buy it and watch it from the comfort of your LayZBoy and some brownies is what I really meant to say.

  • i downloaded it, if i see it in a store i will buy because it is worth owning.

  • People, in the not so distant olden days, had collections. They would bring old shit back from far away places, and put it in their dusty libraries. Or they collected allies. Or rocks. Everyone had some sort of 'collection.' Collections are things you can touch and see and feel, and you connect with them.. Today a collection is just an IPod list of songs. Start your own library of old shit, and make this movie the first piece you buy, then build on it.

  • @barriehomeboy AMEN!

  • @barriehomeboy I made that comment on a video that I saved a long time ago, and it was lost from my youtube favourites list for a long time. Then there you are responding to it. I lose shit on youtube all the time. I don't understand this site, but I love that I can find obscure music here, even if I can't find it again when I save it. Life isn't perfect. Why does youtube have to be, eh?

  • if you live at your parents house you do

  • sometimes it is preferable

    not to travel

    with a dead man

  • robbie muller rocks. dead man is undoubtedly his best work.

  • you know no ones been able to blend acoustic guitar and electric like niel young has. its that perfect blend were both are stark in contrast yet meld to make one sound. nickelback obviously have never heard of niel young!

  • John Hyrt!!!He's as perfect as Johnny Depp.....!!!!!

  • No words to describe this movie...

  • "And also, where is it that you're from?"

Crispin Glover, William Blake, Nobody, Depp, Iggy, Young.

    All time favorite.

  • Machine?.!!!...that's the End of the Line...

    lol

  • Great job!

  • My favourite movie.

  • This movie is very important to me. I had a deep, inner and strange feeling when I saw it. For the first time in my life, I was able to say what's happening in the movie before seeing the scene. If I could live in far west, I'd beheave as Johnny. Unfortunately, this moving film is the story of my life.

"I'm William Blake, do you know my poetry?"

  • Most excellent! Two of my all-time favorite characters.

  • Indeed

  • excellent musicianship actenuated by appropriately profound visual.

  • Love the music and the film

  • J'aime profondement Johny depp qui est du meme signe astrologique que moi, Ce film est le meilleur que jai eut l'occasion de voir.

  • Every Johnny Depp fan must see this. It's so cool and I feel like a select few who've even ever heard of it. Hard to believe

  • Thank You - This movie is so heavy & a breaking off point for Johnny where he decided to only go for parts he thought were cool not just jumping at whatever came his way and Griecoing his future. I love this story and can't believe it's so hard to find. Only real Depp fans here

  • one of my all-time-favorites... thank you!

  • Yeah man, iv seen the film.

    Many a times.

Big neil young fan, and a big western movie fan.

  • Well done.

I think you could probably play just about any clip to this soundtrack and it would still be awesome.

  • I agree, the clip is beautiful!

I've never heard a more suiting soundtrack than the original though. Go see the movie! It's simply great! Maybee you'll agree Neil Young's music is essential for the 'mood' of this movie.

  • the top movie of all time. a masterpiece. that's what you get when you put the best actor and the best musician together. my favorite to watch when i'm stoned...or anytime, really!

  • awesome.

  • GREAT!

    You have some tobacco?

  • who is the artist and what is the song called? not to clear. amazing tune!

  • Neil Young - Dead Man (Theme)

  • Probably the greatest movie most people have never seen.

  • Great metaphore of the american West from the Native american point of view, Johnny Depp mistaken for William Blake, the favourite white poet of Indians makes his journey to the afterlife and the mad world is heading for doom, Movie is amazing and music just couldnt be better, Real masterpiece

  • such a perfect song for this movie! it gives me goosebumps.

  • Best movie and best music.

  • this movie is sorely underrated. it's a classic.

  • My favorite movie EVER~~!!!!!!!!

great actors, perfect music, incredible director...photograpy...all

    OMG

  • my all time favorite Johnny Depp film. I particularly loved Garry Farmer in this. To me, he made the movie, at the heart of it.

    Thanks for posting it.

  • One of the best movie I never saw in my life !

Jarsmush is a god ! Thanks. Let love rules...

  • definatley in my top 5 fav. movies

the contrast between him walking into Machine, and then into the native village is one of the SICKEST scenes ive ever seen!

  • 8i agree my man!!! the transformation of william blake as the film progresses is simply amazing, and the final sequence when he's experiencing a transcending truth (when he sees the indians in the village/over lapped with neil young's sound track is beyond description)

  • Its a very good movie, but the scene when the man who is after william splatters the head of man, that does kind of takes down the movie a bit in my opinion

  • I totality agree.

  • dead man is in my opinion the best movie that johnny's in, its my absolute favourite, I got johnny to autograph the dvd for me.

  • Dead Man is my favourite movie, and the soundtrack is amazing! I bought the OST, but this track isn't on it, as it's not actually played during the movie itself, but during the opening and ending credits. Can anyone tell me where I can find this beautiful track?

  • I really want it too.

  • I agree that Dead Man is one the most amazing movies in a long, long time.

Thank you for posting the clip.....

  • Love this movie everything about it is amazing. The music adds so so much more to an already perfect movie.

  • Do you have the end credits w/ the boat?

  • Yes, I think I have them... Why?

  • It's a great sequence, wanted to link it to a friend if it was on youtube..

  • I try to find and upload it!

  • bood

  • whats the name of the song?

  • Ehm... Dead Man Theme? I am not sure...

  • top class eerielly brilliant.

  • Superbe!!

  • I get the shivers when the distortion sets in.

it's so dramatic and beautiful ,aestheticism.

  • You've done a beautiful job with this video!! The voiceover is brilliant!! This is my new favorite movie of all time...Neil is my neighbor, and he was the perfect choice for this soundtrack!! Thanks for what you've done with it!!

  • the voiceover is part of the song

  • Great music!!!! I found another superb tune on Dead Man by Hotheelsrecords. Blake's endless night is found there.

  • Johnny has a beautiful voice...

  • astonishing song...

  • the johnny's voice is so sweet!!!!

    I love this song!!!!

    god job

  • el que habla en la cacion es johnny? se parece mucho la voz ...

  • I don't speak Spanish, but do I understand it well and did you ask if it was Johnny's voice? Yes, it was his voice.

  • ok! gracias!

  • you're welcome ;)

  • Sí, siguramente, la voz es de Johnny!

  • Easily one of my favourite movies ever. Depp is good in this but Gary Farmer(Nobody) steals the show.

  • Neil Young, sorry :)

  • The music is great. Neal Young is a great artist.

  • Nice, very subtle yet gruesome.

I'm not very big on Jarmusch's life-less films, but I can appreciate his style of direction, and this movie does have a nice soundtrack.

  • I've seen this movie 30 times and still have no idea what all the spiritual references mean.

  • Ik heb deze film nog niet gezien, maar hij lijkt me erg leuk. Vooral na dit filmpje!! Hij is heel mooi. :)

  • this is about a quest.. a vision quest. Nobody is brilliant, big up AIM and native americans- who knew already..

  • this a fucking great movie and the best soundtrack ever....

  • Good Job,

the scenes are fitting perfect...they go well togther!

I like it very much, thanks!

  • the sound is much better than the other one,,,thank you...

  • the guitar sound is indescribable... it echoes within your true self and makes you rediscover things you thought forgotten

  • I love it

  • Great movie, great soundtrack, excellent performances...

  • Johnny Depp rocks...never been a fan of neil young.

  • These scenes could also go to Neil's song, Powderfinger.

  • this films one of my favourites its so hauntingly beautiful! does anyone know where I could get the guiatr tabs/chords to this song?

  • I'm sorry, I don't know...

  • I don't understand why Neil left this song off of the soundtrack. It's a timeless melody and a classic Neil Young song. The movie is awesome for many reasons. It's the perfect example of why roger ebert is a complete moron. Stupid fucking white man.

  • good movie but it is Neils sound tracks that i belive made the move its a hauanting melody..thanks for sharing an thank you Neil

  • Such a great film. Bought it last year. seen it countless times. It's like a long short film if you get me drift. True genius. Does anyone find the train guy freaky (he's also in Gilbert grape)?

  • Yes... That's Johnny Depp ;)

  • That's Crispin Glover, yo! Also the elder Mcfly in 'Back to the Future.' He rules.

  • what a movie. what a music.

  • great movie by Jarmusch.... some are born to endless night.

  • Truly great movie made even better by unbelievable neil young soundtrack. I'm glad a hidden gem like this was never mainstream; the mindless popularites don't deserve it.

  • Dead Man is genius and so is the score. <3

  • Hail the deadman ;P

  • I've seen this movie, it is honestly the weirdest, most amazing thing I have ever seen. Kudos to Jim Jarmusch and, of course, our Johnny.

  • I like this song. Cool video.

  • I like it!

  • your very first clip is perfect! thank you.

  • GREAT
