Your completly right bro! Religon is all about control. I went to church and sunay school until i was 13. Its all magical bullshit, I sat there and listened to it all. An i wasent buying it! Relion is for the weak minded.
Don't "teach" your kids to follow any religion and let them grow up so that they can make a choice for religions themselves?? What are you nuts? Church coffers can't sustain themselves under that model!
I didn't have anything like the experience you did but I was raised Catholic and questioned it from an early age. I too get caught some moments by old fashioned Catholic guilt but I don't practice. I'd say I'm the same belief wise too, prove to me there's a god and I'll believe, til' then I'm comfortable chilling. The boy from Jesus Camp always stands out to me, I want to save him from what ever it is he's so afraid of. I'm glad you came through it with your self intact.
@skullfudge2917 well when jesus/god told the followers to murder the none believes so on yes he murders for laughs he shows no mercy what so evedr yet christains say hes all good & loving he is not which the bible proves this infact read it or i can point you to me new video called GOD is Evil? yes said in the bible so look at my video whioch io quote from the verus just like they do.
@Laszroth That's brutual stuff bro! I'm not religious, but I just didn't think Jesus would have condoned this kind of evil. Some of the Chrisitans I know seem like good people, but on the other hand, I know some religous assholes as well. I suppose it's more about a person's character rather than their religion that matters.
Thankyou for this. Legislation exists to protect children from all abuse (including emotional). It should be tested in Court because a huge number of credible witnesses on every continent is powerful evidence. Churches have been held accountable for sexual abuse. They should also be held accountable for past and present emotional abuse. Some parents, like your mother, are vulnerable to the influence of unenlightened authority figures promising salvation.
Good message. I hear you. Religion is a barbed thorn that is hard to extract. Good luck to you on clearing the brainwashing. It took me a few years to completely realize the depth of the spell and free myself.
On one of the ATheist experience videos a guy called in who went to a Canadian jesus camp. He caught 2 christian chicks doing the hibbity-dibbity out in the woods with strap-ons and the whole 9 yards.
I know for sure there is something bigger out there. but the bible is definatly a lie & if thats untrue then why would i believe in a charachter of a book? a fairy tale character..idk, to many things i never got, to much suffering in the world to think their is a god.
@RichGonzalezVerona My favorites? Noah's Arc - logistically impossible Talking snakes - baha! Virgin birth - Virgins CAN get pregnant Jesus shown all the kingdoms from a mountain - flat earth thinking Made in the image of God - God needs hands? 10 commandments - watch?v=7fu52lSi5HM (a primer) Pillar of salt? - fairy tale Raised from the dead - only mostly dead? Everlasting life - mans fear of death That should be enough to chew on.
It is a wonderful collection of books! One of my favorite, was one you did not mention the Red Sea Opening up for the people of Israel to walk through.
Lol indeed, Michigan does kinda suck right now, huh?
And I agree... Luckily my parents didn't force me into anything, but it was still hard to break out from what religious people do. It just feels like it's so widely accepted to be religious; feels like breaking away also breaks you from the community a little.
I am so sorry that you had to go through all of that. But it appears to have sparked something from within and now you have some valuable insights to share with the world. Peace
Sometimes we want to hear our own way but there is definitely a creator that is communicating to us. Once we realize that he speaks differently, it all changes for us then that is when we become believers.
Public schools &universities indoctrinate kids all D time.I was told in school to think communism was the right way. There is political correctness is there not? There is a certain current that one has to follow. why shouldnt a Christian Parent who probably had there ancestors come to this country due to religious persecution not teach their child religion. Last time I checked this is still a free country to practice ones religion & teach that to your children without society imposing but maybe no
I bet you won't always have those fears. They're still with you but the longer you're away from that brainwashing the more it will fade. My advice, if you want to get rid of it faster is to think about space. You might do this already but if you don't you should. Consider how enormous the universe is and how absurd it is that the god of the universe would give a flying fuck what we puny primate descendants do on this infinitesimal rock.
Some fear the vastness of the cosmos but I f'n love it.
Dude, we had identical childhoods in alot of ways. I can't even get through the first half hour of Jesus Camp...it disturbs me that much. My dad was the one who I had to deal with. He was a military man who found God and he beat me unmercifully. He thought he was beating the spirit of disobedience out of me...when it was Asperger's Syndrome.
When people ask what my religion is, I don't know what to say exactly. My parents were raised on different religions; one being jehovas witness and the other catholic. When I was born my dad did not baptize me and decided it would be better to let me choose my own religion. So my whole life I haven't had religion, I just have no religion really. Sometimes I wish I grew up with some religion. But in the end I think people are better of just living without religion.
bible doesn't says that you will be tormented eternally, concept of hell was borrowed from other religions like greek and roman mythology. hebrew word gehenna was mistranslated as hell. gehenna is a place were your soul dies, eternal life is only for cocksuckers. read bible carefully one more time and you will understand that there IS a big proof against god. for example paradox of omnipotence, omniscience vs free will and 200 more contradictions that makes existence of biblical god impossible!
If you're a theist, you believe in magic sky fairies for which there is no evidence. Therefore if you're a theist, you’re not entirely rational. I won't call all theists dumbasses, like you called all atheists dumbasses… I'm not an ignorant, generalizing little puke like you.
I'm sure others have already brought this to your attention as well but...it's YOU’RE not YOUR when you’re use it the way you did. Learn some tolerance and then freshen up on your grammar.
@tylermccail7777777 well a theist would say the evidence of a God is all around you. how would you respond to that? well i know the correct grammar usage of YOUR and YOU'RE but i thought to myself why should i waste my time writing the longer word when these people (atheist) are so dumb? lol
I'd respond to that by saying, "show me this evidence that's all around us". Then they would pick up a leaf and talk about it being beautiful or comment on how the moon is the same size as the sun from our perspective or some other stupid, unrelated and entirely natural phenomenon that they have convinced themselves to be miraculous.
I've been through that MANY times with theists. Christians, Mormons, Muslims, Wiccans ect. They're all the same. They just believe different myths
@tylermccail7777777 well in the Christian view they believe you should be able to look at a tree and know that their is a God. That is what Paul the apostle said so where are without excuse in his point of view. what would you say to that? and by the way you should look up Paul's story it's pretty amazing even if you are an Atheist.
@tylermccail7777777 Not assuming that you have not read it i was just pointing something out. But you know what bro there is no need to even argue about this because one we will all find out truly whether their is a God or not. I feel like there so much evidence for God its not even funny. You believe the exact opposite and we will probably hold these views to the that we die.
True. I have no problem with you believing what you believe. What I do have a problem with is you calling all atheists dumbasses. That's just ridiculous and has nothing to do with religious beliefs. It's bigotry, plain and simple. You're saying they're stupid because they're not like you. Replace atheist with women or black people... see my point?
@tylermccail7777777 There is evidence all around us, the orbit of the world is perfect, if it were not, we would frozen or be tosted. We are a miracle just because there is a statistical impossibility for all this just to have happened by chance. The beauty of how our body works and knows what to do has intelligent design screaming out to us, all we have to do is listen.
No. We're here BECAUSE the conditions on this planet are perfect. We are a product of our environment, the environment was not created FOR US. How egocentric are you? ALL evidence points to natural selection. It's common sense. There could be a God, but there is no evidence whatsoever that there is one. Talking about how things are beautiful is pointless too. WE think our world is beautiful but beauty is a subjective thing.
@tylermccail7777777 It is funny to see how when someone feels that their ideology is being threatened they will start a personal attack, or name calling. I mentioned that there must be a God and point out to some reasons why I think we are not a cosmic mistake, and you start name calling (egocentric) instead of looking at what I am saying you regurgitate your unintellectual brain washed world view you call science. How about if you are wrong?
If I'm wrong it just means that I made an honest mistake. Theists, make assumptions based on ignorance, lies and superstition. Also, I said that there COULD be a God. Without any evidence in God's support however, believing in it is absurd. It is VERY egocentric to think that all of reality exists for human beings. The universe gave rise to us, it wasn't designed for us.
@tylermccail7777777 Why do you use a candy coded standard for yourself or your belief but when it comes to someone else they are ignorant, not you. They are liars, not you. They are hypocrites, not you. You are innocent, not them. It is someone else’s fault, not yours. I’m sure your mom was a nice lady who wanted the best for her son. I’m not trying to offend you, please do not take it that way. I just see a pattern in your argument that is wrong.
Also, there are 20 SEPTILLION stars in the universe (Yes, that is a real number) 200-400 BILLION stars in OUR Galaxy alone. If just 1/4 of those stars have planets orbiting them, there are between 500 million and 1 billion solar systems in just our galaxy. Of those hundreds of millions of solar systems, so far Earth is the only one we know of with life on it. When you have a pool of hundreds of millions, the likelihood that a phenomenal fluke will happen isn't so low.
@tylermccail7777777 Also, you said it is egotistic to say that all of creation exists for people. No, all of creation does not exists for Humanity it exists for the king (God) that created it. If we look at it from our point of view, it is egocentric but when you see that it is not created for us alone then things change. The universe was not made for humans. Humans were made for God.
Man invented god in his own image to explain his origins before he had any idea about what was going on around him. The god of the bible has our finger prints all over him. He's petty, vengeful, stupid, and jealous.
@elatus It is horrible that you see a God who hates evil deeds that people do to each other and themselves as evil. Now, the bible says that God is a loving God that wants to reconcile the world that includes you, to himself through Jesus.
What religion should be teaching is to be good people, helping family, friends and communities, not promoting violence. Thank your reasoning mind that you made out sane.
Ya man im the same way my whole family is really religious and the day before I Easter i told my mom i wasnt going to church because i was a Deist and found all biblical doctrines to be lies she said i was " no better than a fucking Mormon! " yes she was pretty closed minded and ignorant, she also kicked me out of the house that night as well.
Is it too weird to say that you're me in about eight-nine years? Right now I'm going on sixteen with the same upbringing you had. I'm still going to church for my family, but I'm a very harsh atheist and am bisexual in most every meaning of the word. I'm pretty sure I'd have to go through an exorcism if my family so much as caught wind that I don't believe in their god.
What's a noise piercing? and why is everyone who's talking shit about this guy a complete retard? Oh wait...I know...because anyone who would make fun of someone for sharing a story about their lives and passing on wisdom in the form of experience that we would otherwise never have...is a COMPLETE RETARD.
Haha... if anything, all these negative comments should feed his ego. I know they would mine.
She found God, changed her ways, and was still just as vile of a person? Poured ice water on you in bed. That's not a saved woman. She may have found God, found Church, but she didn't ask Jesus to give her a new heart and eternal salvation. She never made the deal. Don't judge Christians based on your mom.
"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." 2 Corinthians 5:17
Fortunately, you can apply self forgiveness within self honesty and release 'resonant patterns' of the 'mind' including the label of atheism or any lable one has accepted and allowed within self. thanks for sharing
I used to be like that boy. I never told my family, but I often didn't know whether God existed. But I barely had any friends when I was younger, and my best friend's mom seemed to be an almost religious extremist, so I never told anybody about it. It secretly hurt for me, to look at my friends' moms and my baby-sitter and not fully believe in God. I hated religious TV programs and reading the Bible, and I still do. But now, as a Christian teen, I don't give a crap about religion anymore.
yea, i had a good friend i grew up with from child hood and when we got into high school his parents found out he smoked some pot and stuff and sent him off to a religious school of some sort and lost all ties to old friends...well i bumped into him a few years later and he was a completely diferent person. it actualy left me shaken a little by how much his mind has changed. and he was off to become a preist or w/e. im not sure if he is one today but i do know that was pure brain wash w/e happnd
Hey man, Im so sorry your mother was severely deluded. Im totally sure she did it out of love and only wanted the best for you. If you understand that, you will forgive her. I hope you can continue your recovery.
I also wish people to realize that this indoctrination is some serious sick shit.
Whats going on! This is the 21st century. Its time for logic and reason!
Thanks for sharing, you made some excellent points, and my heart aches for you. I mean wow, your mom burning your magic cards...A few of my friend's parents would get upset because we would play Yugioh! and they thought it was demonic as well.
But thank you for sharing. You're absolutely right.
Those kids had no choice if they questioned the idea of a god the adult would always tell the kid he or she was wrong and would be forced to listen to the adult.
its sad...about all that stuff...in your childhood.......I wont go into that....but what I always say is......"do whatever makes u happy"....for me....is believe in GOD.....we all have our chance to choose....and I think we both took it...
I liked watching your video, thanks for sharing. I am a christian because I want to do good deeds and help people when they are in need. Sounds like your mind is still open, active and thinking, and I think that is very important. Sorry about your bad experiences when you where younger. The shit in Jesus Camp is the the scariest brain washing shit I have ever seen. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts. peace
-"I am a christian because I want to do good deeds and help people when they are in need."
-Why the HELL(no pun intended) do you need to blindly follow 'god' to be a good person? I'm as atheist as it comes, and I've done more good deeds than all the Christians I know put together. If anything, the Christians are the ones that started huge wars and burned people at stakes. While atheists contributed to society. You have it ass backwards. Abeo
I can relate to you on some levels. I wasn't raised in a religious household, but I often went to youthgroups and church with friends for socializatioin, because growing up in a small town, EVERYONE is religious. So, from the time I was 11 to about a year ago, so about 9 years, these ideas about Jesus and burning in hell were being drilled into my head. Luckily, I realized I didn't have to go through that just because everyone else did, and recently I became an Atheist. I am so happy now.
Wow! This is almost exactly the story of my life except my dad is still alive and instead of going Atheist, I went Asatru. That's a hard childhood....I know all too well..5 stars for sure
I beleive in god and jesus , you guys listen to the bad side of chrisians , you guys cant prove god is fake and i know we cant prove hes real , its like scientists trying to find out what happens after death , You cant know until your there...
UM just the opposite, life helps prove God's existents and so does science, but of course you are listening to half bake science and people how dont know what they are talking about. There is in doctrinarian on both sides. p.s. I am now talking to the guy on the video. I am sorry about your childhood bro, it should never have been that way, I am sorry on behalf of all reasonable believers
My parents never pushed religion on me. I was christened at some "all faiths" thing. I remember there were certain periods where we would go to church because maybe it was something my parents wanted in their lives during those brief few-month periods. I never told them, but I never felt comfortable there anyway. I remember from the time I was 12-14 we were members of one church where I went to youth group and that was the point where I knew it was all bullshit, and that was it.
I feel your pain. Religion (and just the tangential effects of a society indoctrinated by its dogma) can seriously fuck with the mind of a child. It's one of religion's terrible legacies. Hopefully one day it will fade into history, replaced with reason, rationality, and the true goodness and decency of the human family.
Wow! I can understand how those things have scared you. My parents never spoke to me about God. They did send me to a Catholic school though. Mass 3x per wk. I feel your pain! We were not even Catholic.Lol. I thought I was going to bust Hell wide open, and that it would be God's good pleasure to do it. That is until I kicked religion to the curb, and set out to see if this God was real for myself. Six years later at 16, God answered that question. If we will seek God he says we will find him.
look dude, i saw the video, church camp video . im a christian and i got a little scared. those people that do that are crazy,a kid shouldnt be put threw that, and what your mom did to you was crazy too. kids that age dont need to be asking for forgiveness and crying that way and being forced to speak in that made up langue. kids are innocent, they really havent done anything thats worth beating up them self for. now i do believe that there is a God and a Devil but some people just take it tofar
Not that you believe this, but apparently conservitive Christians believe in something called "Original Sin" which is basically the sin you are born with, because your parents had sex to create you, and that is what baptism is supposed to "Wash Away" So according to that children, at least unbaptized ones, are -not- innocent in the eyes of many Christians.
My upbringing into Catholicism was a lot more mild compared to your upbringing. But I can relate to feeling "disturbed to the core" as you look at everyone around you worshiping a corpse and an invisible man in the sky and knowing that something is majorly fucked up.
Thanks for posting. Sure you were indoctrinated but you got over it. Stop thinking that there might still be a "hell". There isn't. If it is of any comfort, the Bible did NOT define hell as a physical place where people burn for eternity. That's catholic bullshit right there.
oh man. this sounds exactly like my childhood minus a shitty mother. i live in alabama so it was society pressuring me instead of mom. power to us for making it!
I went to church a lot when I was younger, but I turned out that I was not saved and no different from atheists until recently.
Don't let the religious get in the way between you and God. Learn about God by yourself. God really is wonderful. Sometimes too much of the religious pushing is repelling. I understand ya.
Well I'm sorry you gone through all that, you need to get friends like mine that love to hug and stuff. You seem like a good person. Religion never works (look up a video "Religion Bytes"). God is supposed to be a relationship not a religion. Not forced onto you, but to understand the love of God, and to accept Him or not. I hope you do buddy, I'll be praying for you and pulling for you.
exactly the same happened to me but not my mother its my father(he wasn't always like this), and I got hands layed on me also, seeing all that fanatism, made me sick, and it has really affected me to see how a person who you once loved and was "normal" turn into such ignorance, and has give up on finding truth, always asserting, never questioning. something that scars you for life.
it was doing work on the Sabbath (which I now know is bullshit). Anyway 16 years of that shit before I left home fucked me up and set the scene of a lifetime of depression and fucking emptiness as this great kingdom of god that was supposed to be manifest on earth never happened. I think all religion is a lie and that is so unfair to send kids into this world with lies and false hope that some supernatural benevolent entity will intervene for you when you are the power all along.
this post did me so much good. thank you so much. I had the same experience just different religion. as black, super-orthodox jews in in secular and christian it was bad enough being different but having a fucked up family, the aspect of religious terrorism just fucked me up. I was supposed to be a rabbi. My parents were also physically abusive to enforce conformity with the "proper" religious practice like not flushing the fucking toilet on Saturdays because
i think seriously that there is a definate link between schizophrenia onset and anxiety disorders, having somthing to do with the constant fear element being pumped into peoples heads ,not every one exibits them but im pretty sure it plays a part in people that do have these disorders.and Captinarabia i do believe that is a septum piercing and not something HANGING out of his nose:)
Thank you very much for posting this video. My childhood sounds like it was similar to yours and those are things that I wrestle with occasionally as well.
I love my parents and I know they only wanted the best for me always but I was also raised up in a Christian enviroment. I think its hard for others fully understand the depth of deception some young children and young adults are being forced into believing.
Fantastic video. :) The video and sound quality wasn't even that bad. Better than 90% of what is on youtube. The quality you demonstrated had nothing to do with your cell phone. But rather through the truth of your experiences. If there is a God, he is as evil as any Satan because he condemns good people like you who are only true to what they believe and feel is right.
One of the very best videos lately that I have seen here. Thank you so very much for this genuine and caring video. You are strong. You got yourself out of that.
I sympathize my Mom threw away all my He-Man toys for the same reason. Apparently He-Man and Star Wars were tools of Satan. Even though I'm largely and agnostic I still have the those misgiving in the back of my brain that tell me I'm damned. On the bright side, when I have kids I at least know they won't have to worry about the absurd bullshit I had to.
"No u fcker Christians Have rules Atheist are Dumb fucks who scre wthem self overs for whatever reason" -
The rules of Christianity are irrelevant to living a moral lifestyle in contemporary civilisation. And anyone who justifies the actions of the malicious, genocidal and infanticidal Judeo Christian God as "good" and "righteous" is, in my opinion, morally bankrupt. It's like trying to make excuses for Stalin's terrible deeds.
Most born again Christians are just arrogant sanctimonious shills.
@idroppedoutofcollege so... christians are all rich, smart, and bad stuff never happens to them? If God REALLY (exisited and) blessed his followers with all those gifts, dont you think Christians would be so much better off than non-christians? And non-christians would say "wow, maybe they're onto something. They believe in God and their lives are perfect" and pretty soon, there would be nothing but Christians. Cancer (and cancer survival) rate is the same among Christians and non-christians
i completely understand what you mean with that part of your brain thats still freaked out. I think that might go away or gets more vague over time. I hope so anyway.
this brought me close to tears. it really did. i was not brought up in this environment (thank god, metaphorically) but i have heard the tales and seen the woes. it is quite disturbing. atheism/agnostic is the only true way, i think. i hope your life gets better becuase from what ive seen you dont deserve all that shit happening to you
this video wanted to make me cry. You really touched me with this video. Dude, if I was rich, I'd mail you a nice camera. I'm sure you'd make awesome content.
@skivvymcscoot u should look into islam, not only is it based on faith(as no1 has ever seen god), but proof of gods existence, and his infinite knowledge. There r many scientific proofs in the Holy Quran. u should give it a try.
It's hard knowing that some people have to struggle with such childhoods. I'm glad that you were eventually strong enough to think for yourself.
If you wouldn't mind answering, how did you come about questioning religion? Was it a spontaneous thing triggered by something significant, or a gradual development? And do you remember how old you were when you could confidently identify yourself as an atheist?
My brother introduced me to doubt. I'm not even sure he's an atheist but he put the seed in my mind to question everything and not take things at face value just because someone said they were true. As for how old I was, I believe I was about 14 when I finally said I don't believe in a god of any sort.
You should read the book: Wizard's first rule. It basically deals with this kind of shit. It breaks down to this: People will believe a lie either because they want to believe it's true or because they are afraid it might be true. Thats what I see is happening here.
Also how is it earier to think you will blip out of existence when you die? If I had a choice I would much rather remain on some level of existence. Just because something is convenient or pleasant doesn't mean it's true.
@LaughingFaerie you seem to believe because it is easier, because, like many others, it makes you feel good, and happy. but let me pose you this; an omniscient god that wants you to truly believe in him would see straight through that and probably before you even began to exist. therefore you aren't going to heaven. also, in general, how is it easier to believe when it consists of going to church and continuously thinking of people you know burning in hell?... among many, many more...
I've been through all this shit you mentioned. It is very disturbing and destructive when someone in the family is that nutty with their belief. It brought my family apart.
I found you from looking at TAA´s favorites;-) I know where you come from, my grandmother controlled me...:O I´m glad you stand up for yourself. Oh, and none of us will burn in hell. We will rot in the ground, that´s all. Eww...I´m going for cremation!!
I commend you for using your mind to overcome a great deal of youthful inculcation as you have. Many people never do/can. There is great strength to be found in reason. And I'm very pleased that you appear to have discovered this on your own.
It's funny how some forms of child abuse are legally recognized, while others aren't. Children who are victimized by religious indoctrination should be able to sue their care-givers for child abuse. But this will never happen... not that you would choose this route, but it should be an option.
I agree with TAA. You do a good job presenting this (I have trouble with presenting anything), but your recording quality needs to be upped. I look forward to more videos in the future.
Your completly right bro! Religon is all about control. I went to church and sunay school until i was 13. Its all magical bullshit, I sat there and listened to it all. An i wasent buying it! Relion is for the weak minded.

And I agree... Luckily my parents didn't force me into anything, but it was still hard to break out from what religious people do. It just feels like it's so widely accepted to be religious; feels like breaking away also breaks you from the community a little.

Nedspodos 10 months ago

@raulito22190 You spelled "You're" wrong. Twice, actually. You, sir or madam, are the dumbass.
MansonFan64 10 months ago
@raulito22190
Learn some tolerance and then freshen up on your grammar.
tylermccail7777777 9 months ago
@tylermccail7777777 well a theist would say the evidence of a God is all around you. how would you respond to that? well i know the correct grammar usage of YOUR and YOU'RE but i thought to myself why should i waste my time writing the longer word when these people (atheist) are so dumb? lol
raulito22190 9 months ago
@raulito22190
They just believe different myths
tylermccail7777777 9 months ago
@tylermccail7777777 well in the Christian view they believe you should be able to look at a tree and know that their is a God. That is what Paul the apostle said so where are without excuse in his point of view. what would you say to that? and by the way you should look up Paul's story it's pretty amazing even if you are an Atheist.
raulito22190 9 months ago
@raulito22190
OK you can have your "Christian view" I'll stick with objective reality. I've read the bible. What makes you assume that I haven't?
tylermccail7777777 9 months ago
@tylermccail7777777 Not assuming that you have not read it i was just pointing something out. But you know what bro there is no need to even argue about this because one we will all find out truly whether their is a God or not. I feel like there so much evidence for God its not even funny. You believe the exact opposite and we will probably hold these views to the that we die.
raulito22190 9 months ago
@raulito22190
True. I have no problem with you believing what you believe. What I do have a problem with is you calling all atheists dumbasses. That's just ridiculous and has nothing to do with religious beliefs. It's bigotry, plain and simple. You're saying they're stupid because they're not like you. Replace atheist with women or black people... see my point?
tylermccail7777777 9 months ago
@tylermccail7777777 There is evidence all around us, the orbit of the world is perfect, if it were not, we would frozen or be tosted. We are a miracle just because there is a statistical impossibility for all this just to have happened by chance. The beauty of how our body works and knows what to do has intelligent design screaming out to us, all we have to do is listen.
RichGonzalezVerona 6 months ago
@RichGonzalezVerona
WE think our world is beautiful but beauty is a subjective thing.
tylermccail7777777 6 months ago
@tylermccail7777777 It is funny to see how when someone feels that their ideology is being threatened they will start a personal attack, or name calling. I mentioned that there must be a God and point out to some reasons why I think we are not a cosmic mistake, and you start name calling (egocentric) instead of looking at what I am saying you regurgitate your unintellectual brain washed world view you call science. How about if you are wrong?
RichGonzalezVerona 6 months ago
@RichGonzalezVerona
The universe gave rise to us, it wasn't designed for us.
tylermccail7777777 6 months ago
@tylermccail7777777 Why do you use a candy coded standard for yourself or your belief but when it comes to someone else they are ignorant, not you. They are liars, not you. They are hypocrites, not you. You are innocent, not them. It is someone else’s fault, not yours. I’m sure your mom was a nice lady who wanted the best for her son. I’m not trying to offend you, please do not take it that way. I just see a pattern in your argument that is wrong.
RichGonzalezVerona 6 months ago
@RichGonzalezVerona
When you have a pool of hundreds of millions, the likelihood that a phenomenal fluke will happen isn't so low.
tylermccail7777777 6 months ago
@tylermccail7777777 Also, you said it is egotistic to say that all of creation exists for people. No, all of creation does not exists for Humanity it exists for the king (God) that created it. If we look at it from our point of view, it is egocentric but when you see that it is not created for us alone then things change. The universe was not made for humans. Humans were made for God.
RichGonzalezVerona 6 months ago

Man invented god in his own image to explain his origins before he had any idea about what was going on around him. The god of the bible has our finger prints all over him. He's petty, vengeful, stupid, and jealous.

If we will seek God he says we will find him.

liramc1 3 years ago
Not that you believe this, but apparently conservitive Christians believe in something called "Original Sin" which is basically the sin you are born with, because your parents had sex to create you, and that is what baptism is supposed to "Wash Away" So according to that children, at least unbaptized ones, are -not- innocent in the eyes of many Christians.

It's hard knowing that some people have to struggle with such childhoods. I'm glad that you were eventually strong enough to think for yourself.
If you wouldn't mind answering, how did you come about questioning religion? Was it a spontaneous thing triggered by something significant, or a gradual development? And do you remember how old you were when you could confidently identify yourself as an atheist?
banyah87 3 years ago 4
My brother introduced me to doubt. I'm not even sure he's an atheist but he put the seed in my mind to question everything and not take things at face value just because someone said they were true. Your video makes me think about a particular point of view or statement many religious people like to throw out there.
I'm sure you've heard people say that it's easier to not believe in god or not have faith.
How is sticking to what you believe or don't believe while the general population tells you that you are going to burn in hell "easier"?
I hope that little part in your brain that makes you think you will burn in hell shrunk some.

What'd she do when she found out you didn't believe in God?
Sorry if this is an inappropriate thing to ask (considering the kind of person she sounds like).

She doesn't know what I believe because I choose to avoid that rediculous argument. It would go nowhere and just cause her to have a fit.

Don't be so sure. There were many reasons I should have been removed from that household, and I still resent her for it all.

I agree with TAA. You do a good job presenting this (I have trouble with presenting anything), but your recording quality needs to be upped. I look forward to more videos in the future.

Not bad. You really need to get a new way of recording shit though.
