the only thing that was lacking was consistency (NOT in slams) and mono+backpain+more pressure than ever before will do that to you. have you forgotten that two of his matches during his "slump" (Wimb/AO finals) produced the best tennis of his life for the most part? the USO vs murray/djokovic was an old fashioned beatdown, as good as ever. this wimb final produced his best serving ever. +you have to admit that the top of the rankings is full of much more talented/complete players than before.

The difference between this Federer and current federer is not "age" but confidence.. Just check out his match against Juan Martin del potro.. in the AO '09.. Now that is when he was in his zone.. The day he gets that sort of confidence against Nadal and Murray he will be unbeatable again for atleast 3 years... Lets hope and pray he gains that very soon..
