They should end "I Dream of Jeannie" it with the "S" from hell just like you did, I noticed that with the original Star Trek they added the Desilu logo at the end again.
@kduideo IDoJ aired on TBS in the late 80's to Early 90's then it went to Nick@Nite then TV LAND now it has returned to WGN America I read TV LAND will reobtained the rights to it
man i love the 60s. i use to wait for this theme - once a week, to dance too. abd screen gems, i loved that tune. WHY CANT HOLLYWOOD MAKE SHOWS LIKE THIS ANYMORE, cant anyone tell them.
Some kind of automatic level control was used for this dub; sort of reminds me of the old days recording themes with a cassette recorder next to the TV speaker :/
The theme, written by Hugo Montenegro for season two (and through the end of the series) in 1966, was NEVER heard with lyrics- yes, Buddy Kaye wrote them, but Sidney decided not to use them for the series. It's on the sheet music, though- if you ever read them, you'd know WHY they weren't sung {"Jeannie, fresh as a daisy/Just look how she obeys me.."}.
The "Jeannie" theme written by Hugo Montenegro did have lyrics (by Buddy Kaye), but executive producer Sidney Sheldon rejected them before the season 2 (1966-67) had wrapped up.
Why would Mr. Sheldon reject the lyrics from the theme song?
I have almost all of the episodes from season 2 thru 5 on DVD that I recorded off of TV Land 4 years ago. "The Greatest Entertainer in the World" aired February 27, 1967 (season 2). This episode had this exact same music at the end. It was one of a handful of times it was used before getting to season 4. Now, it could be that either Sony or TV Land modified the music for some episodes, but why would they then go back to the original closing music a few episodes later?
Yes TV Land aired this end title music on certain epsiodes before Season 4...even though this outro theme did not come into existence until Season 4. When IDOJ was on Nick at Nite and now on WGN America, as well as other networks, the right outro music played for each season on every episode...no changing around like TV Land did. The ONLY episode that uses this outro music for Season 2 on the DVD is "One of our Bottles is Missing."
Eh... what... plaster crazy... SONY IS SO PLASTER CRAZY?!? But you should have added the Sony logo after the Screen Gems logo, just like you also should have put the Sony logo after the Screen Gems logo on Bewitched!
@DisneyVideos2000, the Sony logo just doesn't belong with I Dream of Jeannie or Bewitched. It's gotta be Screen Gems or nothing, since Screen Gems used to be the television arm of Columbia Pictures...Gotta stay with the tradition of having one of the coolest (and scariest) logos going!
By way of Columbia Pictures and Coca-Cola. Coke, a well-known player in the soft beverage industry, was the owner of the whole Columbia Pictures empire from 1982-89.
The composer of this song should have been President.

Here's some food for thought...Hugo Montenegro had a big pop hit 1 year prior to this: Theme from "The Good, The Bad & the Ugly"(Clint Eastwood)

Even though some considered Season 5 to be the silliest, it's worth watching just to hear this version of the theme song!

This is the same as the season 4 end title music...it was originally scored for season 4
FilmsRreel 3 years ago
Actually, it was used even sooner than that. It was used on and off during seasons 2 and 3, starting with the Sammy Davis Jr episode.
