  • The composer of this song should have been President.

  • Jeannie's parents in Baghdad must have dissapered when Saddam took over

  • Almost sounds like a little "Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In" in there someplace.

  • i just love this show I DREAM OF JEANNIE FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I forgot just how catchy this theme really is.

  • 0:23 the brass here is TIGHT!!!

  • ahhhhhh......

Dr. Bellows , we will never forgot your funniest moments like

"He Played the Minute Waltz in 34 Seconds !"

    the memories...

  • They should end "I Dream of Jeannie" it with the "S" from hell just like you did, I noticed that with the original Star Trek they added the Desilu logo at the end again.

  • didnt know the asses at nick/tv showed it....i have the video....yet dont see it. i checked....only wgn my friend.

  • nice to see the originale closing credits with out the screen gems theam edited out like the t.v version was

  • i wish that when the show was released on dvd that they would of included the screen gems logo too

  • it NOW is on TBS

  • @kduideo IDoJ aired on TBS in the late 80's to Early 90's then it went to Nick@Nite then TV LAND now it has returned to WGN America I read TV LAND will reobtained the rights to it

  • TBS shows SCREEN GEMS logo....DVD'S don't.

  • @kduideo Yes they did WGN America Nick@Nite and TV LAND also showed it too

  • @kduideo The very reason why I don't own the DVD's...

  • @vinylrecord68 it depends who transfers the tapes kid.

  • @kduideo True, but once they reinstate the Screen Gems logo (and then Sony Pictures Television), then they'll get my money.

  • @vinylrecord68 kid is on who is doing the tape transfer......Mostly jews.........

  • Thanks for posting this theme from Jeannie!!!! I love this orginal version!! I listen to it often. Please post more original comedies from the 60's.

    Love, s

  • What a catchy theme

  • I love the scary S logo of screen gems productions. It use to freak me out when I was a kid. I use to love scaring myself to that. It was great.

  • man i love the 60s. i use to wait for this theme - once a week, to dance too. abd screen gems, i loved that tune. WHY CANT HOLLYWOOD MAKE SHOWS LIKE THIS ANYMORE, cant anyone tell them.

  • screen gems later released snatch and some other film known today as resident evil.

  • wish they put this show back on Tv Land, where they should only air classics and not anything new from the 90's and beyond.

  • Weekdays @ 3PM Eastern Time on WGN America----Chicago Cubs games permitting.

  • VIVA HUGO!

  • Some kind of automatic level control was used for this dub; sort of reminds me of the old days recording themes with a cassette recorder next to the TV speaker :/

  • Dick Wilson....aka, Mr. Whipple.

  • I say this based upon older broadcasts. They changed outro themes for screen gems all in 1968.

  • Best jeannie closing theme

  • the drums were wicked in this arrangement.

  • @hanoc101 I agree. It's an awsome theme tune. :)

  • i feel like dancin'now.

  • what a cool theme!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gosh ..so hip!!!!

  • ooh, i can dance to this one in a go-go cage:)..haaaaay!

  • This is my favorite version of the end titles music(season 4/5)

  • I love 60's sitcom music, much of it was very jazzy and catchy.

  • The theme, written by Hugo Montenegro for season two (and through the end of the series) in 1966, was NEVER heard with lyrics- yes, Buddy Kaye wrote them, but Sidney decided not to use them for the series. It's on the sheet music, though- if you ever read them, you'd know WHY they weren't sung {"Jeannie, fresh as a daisy/Just look how she obeys me.."}.

  • Does anyone have this on wav. or mp3 format???This sounds so cool!

  • The "Jeannie" theme written by Hugo Montenegro did have lyrics (by Buddy Kaye), but executive producer Sidney Sheldon rejected them before the season 2 (1966-67) had wrapped up.

Why would Mr. Sheldon reject the lyrics from the theme song?

  • Here's some food for thought...Hugo Montenegro had a big pop hit 1 year prior to this: Theme from "The Good, The Bad & the Ugly"(Clint Eastwood)

  • Even though some considered Season 5 to be the silliest, it's worth watching just to hear this version of the theme song!

  • This is the same as the season 4 end title music...it was originally scored for season 4

  • Actually, it was used even sooner than that. It was used on and off during seasons 2 and 3, starting with the Sammy Davis Jr episode.

  • No it wasn't, Boulton. Season 4 is the first time this version of the end credits theme was used

  • I have almost all of the episodes from season 2 thru 5 on DVD that I recorded off of TV Land 4 years ago. "The Greatest Entertainer in the World" aired February 27, 1967 (season 2). This episode had this exact same music at the end. It was one of a handful of times it was used before getting to season 4. Now, it could be that either Sony or TV Land modified the music for some episodes, but why would they then go back to the original closing music a few episodes later?

  • Simple...the music was changed for DVD

  • Yes TV Land aired this end title music on certain epsiodes before Season 4...even though this outro theme did not come into existence until Season 4. When IDOJ was on Nick at Nite and now on WGN America, as well as other networks, the right outro music played for each season on every episode...no changing around like TV Land did. The ONLY episode that uses this outro music for Season 2 on the DVD is "One of our Bottles is Missing."

  • He's right though. I do remember that on some season 3 episodes when it was reran on TV Land.

  • Those were not the original prints.

  • Best theme music ever!

  • This theme song RAWKS!!!!

  • This theme is defenetely the BEST!!

  • @ShaDeed329 Agreed.

  • OMG...There's no Sony logo!!!

  • I know I just replaced it. I think it's better with the "Screen Gems S" Since Sony is so plaster crazy.

  • Oh yeah, it's definitely better with the "S from Hell"...especially when it doesn't have SPT following it!

  • That's right, just like it was when it was first aired! All you need now is the NBC Snake (Ding Dong Ding!)

  • Eh... what... plaster crazy... SONY IS SO PLASTER CRAZY?!? But you should have added the Sony logo after the Screen Gems logo, just like you also should have put the Sony logo after the Screen Gems logo on Bewitched!

  • @DisneyVideos2000, the Sony logo just doesn't belong with I Dream of Jeannie or Bewitched. It's gotta be Screen Gems or nothing, since Screen Gems used to be the television arm of Columbia Pictures...Gotta stay with the tradition of having one of the coolest (and scariest) logos going!

  • @cag1970 right yet i dont want to comment.........

  • @DisneyVideos2000 Well, technically, Screen Gems is a subsidiary of Sony Pictures anyway. ;)

  • @tsntana

By way of Columbia Pictures and Coca-Cola. Coke, a well-known player in the soft beverage industry, was the owner of the whole Columbia Pictures empire from 1982-89.
