ARMA 2 is tons of fun, but there's no atmosphere. I used to get immersed on OFP and when my whole team died or on the survival missions I felt the horror of war. Soviets search the forest and you alone crawl in the bushes scared as hell. Or you are running away from them clicks and clicks away but they keep catching up with you, they flank you and you die. OFP isn't shiny as ARMA but it has awesome atmosphere, horror moments and immersive stress moments.

You're right, there's something special about OFP. Even though the game is ten years old, it's somehow more atmopshere in CWC compared to arma 2.

maybe a tad late, this is more large scale combat.. and SP is fun too! but nothing beats coop :D a lot of mods out there as well.. i suggest you try the demo :)

Ah, original Flashpoint music. Flashpoint's still my favorite game. I hope the developers keep the Flashpoint look and feel in their newer games.

aaahah i remember not liking this music when i played ofp, but now it brings memories and shivers of the greatest war game.

nope, just new more realistic looking animations. ragdolls should be possible in this game since it got physics on some items but it would probably just cause to much lag and would take alot of time to make it look realistic. sure ragdolls would be awesome in this game but it is already my favorite fps simulator so thats np with me. hmm I wonder if that halo jumping is scripted, would be nice to easily put into missions.

Ragdoll is unfeasible in a game of this magnitude, to many players to much space and it wouldn't add a lot to the game anyway seeing as you spend a considerable amount of time engaging at range.

I personally don't like the fact that most "popular" war games try so desperately to look glamorous and entertaining. Operation Flashpoint got its value from being unique and realistic (for example, extending the combat distances). I sure hope this game will be more like OFP, but I have a feeling that it's more like Call of Duty and other such games.

Can you tell us the details of the campaign (aside from what the website already says)? Thank you for the video.

Yep, the new OFP is definitely targeted at the young-kids audience. It aims to mesmerize people with graphics more than to actually simulate combat. But ARMA II is directly competing with them, so unfortunately BI Studios is going down the same road with this game.
