You have to keep in mind that there was a civil war in some sense, there still is today in Samoa with families fighting over land and title rites etc... in Samoa and there was not a unified Samoa at the time. As the old saying goes, united we stand, divided we fall. Constant bickering with each other caused Samoa to become vulnerable to outside forces. Also keep in mind that slavery was NOT what Tonga had over Samoa, it was Tongas "influence" and not slavery like you Tongans say.

To prove my case why else would people have to free themselves? After Tonga freed herself from Tu'i Manu'a then the Tu'i Tonga empire sprouted about.

TONGA was part of SAMOA. It was "south" (tonga) or the Southern district of Samoa. It was the security border which kept Fiji from invading Manu'a, or the rest of Samoa. Its all their my friend, Tu'i Manu'a will always be apart of Tongan history just like how Tu'i Tonga will always be apart of Samoan history.

TONGA WAS NEVER PART OF SAMOa, in regards to the statement of tonga freeing itself, it wasnt freeing itself from samoan rule, HOW you say BECAUSE SAMOA never ruled Tonga, BUT THEY HAD TO FREE THEMSELVES FROM THE WARS BETWEEN THEMELVES, AN NOT FROM BEING RULED BY SAMOA AS THAT NEVER HAPPEND MY BROTHER,
