Listening to both versions carefully, here's how I feel: Lyrically, Royce's version is superior to Jay's version, but Jay's version has more depth. Way more depth. You cant say Royce's verse was more personal than Jay's. Bar none. Although it was kind of done in a shady way how this song came about, Em made the right call.
