They both need severe quality improvements. I am interested in what tata motors does with land rver and jaguar. Chrysler needs to get its qulatiy back on track and it has a chance. They actually make some nice looking cars. EX: the aspen. Landrovers are the exact same story. I love the LR3

Chrysler needed the bailout, but Jeep sales continued to increase propping Chrysler up, had Chrysler not had Jeep, they would have died long ago. In fact, the Jeep Wrangler sales continued to increase during the recession and they still do.

At least OWN a Jeep before you speak garbage about it, that way you sound half intelligent. I bet you don't even know who makes the transmission for it (hint: it's not Chrysler).

Sorry but Land Rover is not the best. They have a LOT of mechanical and electrical problems. I know, my parents had one. My dad bought a brand new Ranger Rover HSE back in 2004 at our local Land Rover dealership. Around the 10,000 miles, a engine sensor went bad, had to be replaced. The starting mechanism for the motor failed, it wouldn't start, had to be towed back to the dealer. It was constantly blowing fuses left and right. It violated our stated lemon law. And yes we got rid of it.

I think you had bad experience with range rovers. However, 75% of all range rovers ever built are still working perfectly(including the military ones).

Land Rover was around long before ford bought them (and since sold them) and there is no comparison between the two. Jeeps are just cheap plastic alternatives to Land rovers. Jeeps would have loved to go where land rovers have.

@sizzlinbeef3 a jeep is better offroad but the range rover takes a clean 2nd, not just the rangie, but all landies in general. but to speak the truth 98 percent of american cars suck. the only good ones are some jeeps, some chevys ( newer ones ) , buicks and 1 or 2 GMC'S and thts it. ford, hummer, dodge, its all garbage

I remember this series of commercials. It's about two years old. And how is it a rip off of a Jeep commercial? Last time I saw a jeep commercial it was a guy driving a Compass with a singing squall, far from this.
