Man you can hardly contain your self with this camera but I do agree with you about this camera, even tho I don't own one but it is the one I'm after. There nearly $800 in Australia but the best between the Canon 1000D and the Nikon D3000. How do you get to bulb mode and for how long can I keep the shutter open for ? If you could answer that I'll even subscribe to you.
@satansludge The bulb mode is achieved (at least this is the way I do it) by putting the camera either in manual or in shutter priority mode (TV) and then scrolling the shutters peed up and up and up and up (in time) eventually u will reach 30 seconds, then you will reach "BULB", and there u go. In bulb mode, you can leave the shutter open for as long as you have ur finger on the shutter button. For sample pics, night pics and video in 720p check out my vids (2 of them) :)

this could possibly be the worst/most amateur video review of any camera, you need to do your research and know what your talking about before you do a review, there should be no "I think..." or "Maybe..." or anything like that
@bboylilsoul I find that the Pentax lenses are a notch under the Nikon ones. If you're going to buy entry level DSLRs your whole life, you won't notice any lens differences, but if you plan to buy a more expensive DSLR one day, you'll notice that the Pentax lenses aren't as good as the Nikon ones. So the Nikon lenses are better, but you probably won't notice a difference. Remember that you'll be sticking with the same brand your entire life. I'd buy a Nikon, but you can decide.

I don't think "Jake" is a girl. Anyway, this review was in bad need of a script. It would have made the review less chaotic and more to the point. You must have said "this is a great camera" a dozen times and that doesn't add any real information for your viewing audience. I have a K-x myself and I thought you had some useful information that you could have offered me but the impromptu nature of this video greatly lowered its value.

the most important thing about this camera batteries is the mAh value. I asked a PENTAX tech support about this and he told me that as long as I use 1600 mAh batteries or more would be ok. I got on ebay some Sony 1700 mAh batteries and they last a lot, even taking photos and video in an all day event, taking more than 200 pictures and around 10 minutes of video the indicator was still in green. Another important thing is to perform the firmware update, that also helps
@JakesTechBox You have to download the firmware update then NP. I easily get 1000 shots on one charge of NiMh Energizers. I have shot some 13,000 images since March and it's never let me down. See my UFO vids here on YouTube: chefpetey

Having used a lot of digital & film compacts, and various classic SLRs, including Hasselblads, Leicas. Canons and Nikons, the K-x fitted my bill exactly - if the E-P1 and similar had had an built-in viewfinder, I'd be in a quandry, but the DX format is to me a very valuable format, as the 4/3 is just like an old TV, while the DX is close to my HD TV's!
@veinom666666 I am not sure of the video format but it is on pentax's website, there is no on board memory just sd and it supports sd hc, there is no touch screen, live view is where the picture coming through the lens is put on the lcd on the back of the camera, and you can record different amounts depending on how big of an sd you have
i bought the red one and i can discuss this further if you want. very cool camera, i just hate the tak-tak noises when i record video and how it wont let me shoot distant clouds! it just rejects taking the foto!
@veinom666666 ok for the tak tak noises it is the image stabilizer you can turn it off in video mode by pressing menu, goin to the third section on the first tab and click movie, inside movie, scroll down to shake reduction, click the option and select the grey hand with the red line through it and that should take care of the sound. and if you want to take the clouds you can go to manual focus and take it. hope it helps

the nikon d5000 is worth your money dont waste your time on this camera, its really good except for the batteries, who cares if it does"1900" shots which i doubt batteries still thats really old no matter how convient people say it is, no one likes them makes your camera just look cheaper, and who cares if you can buy rechargeable batteries there still batteries, and the nikon d5000 you can buy a battery grip which gives you more than a 1000 shots and its better it will be worth it trust me !!!
Great vid. But to be honest Av is the best if you want the fastest shutter speed. This seems strange but if you set your aperture to the lowest f stop it means it lets in as much light as it can resulting in the fastest shutter speed posible at that f number. Than you use your exposure comp if you want a darker photo or a brighter pic.
Do you know if the white version is available in the two lens kit or just the 18-55? The two lens kit is a really good deal but I love the look of the white body. By the way, to JakesTechBox, thanks for the great review.
Im getting one too. It does take AA batteries but thats not so bad. Since it can get 1900 shots on these batteries. That has to be a world record or something for a dslr. Besides you can always buy rechargeable AA batteries. Another good thing is that you can have some spare batteries with you in case, so you actually dont need to have to recharge a battery when you need to shoot now.
Well, one thing to get better is that you gotta know the camera to review it. Your vocab is a little limited. Slow your hands down. What you should do first is play with the camera first. I mean like, learn it. Know what others think about it. Tell some facts about the camera. Research some things that people talk about the camera and answer it yourself. Also, have something to compare it with. Thats a really good thing.

i bought the red one and i can discuss this further if you want. very cool camera, i just hate the tak-tak noises when i record video and how it wont let me shoot distant clouds! it just rejects taking the foto!

@veinom666666 ok for the tak tak noises it is the image stabilizer you can turn it off in video mode by pressing menu, goin to the third section on the first tab and click movie, inside movie, scroll down to shake reduction, click the option and select the grey hand with the red line through it and that should take care of the sound. and if you want to take the clouds you can go to manual focus and take it. hope it helps

the nikon d5000 is worth your money dont waste your time on this camera, its really good except for the batteries, who cares if it does"1900" shots which i doubt batteries still thats really old no matter how convient people say it is, no one likes them makes your camera just look cheaper, and who cares if you can buy rechargeable batteries there still batteries, and the nikon d5000 you can buy a battery grip which gives you more than a 1000 shots and its better it will be worth it trust me !!!

Great vid. But to be honest Av is the best if you want the fastest shutter speed. This seems strange but if you set your aperture to the lowest f stop it means it lets in as much light as it can resulting in the fastest shutter speed posible at that f number. Than you use your exposure comp if you want a darker photo or a brighter pic.

Do you know if the white version is available in the two lens kit or just the 18-55? The two lens kit is a really good deal but I love the look of the white body. By the way, to JakesTechBox, thanks for the great review.

Im getting one too. It does take AA batteries but thats not so bad. Since it can get 1900 shots on these batteries. That has to be a world record or something for a dslr. Besides you can always buy rechargeable AA batteries. Another good thing is that you can have some spare batteries with you in case, so you actually dont need to have to recharge a battery when you need to shoot now.

Well, one thing to get better is that you gotta know the camera to review it. Your vocab is a little limited. Slow your hands down. What you should do first is play with the camera first. I mean like, learn it. Know what others think about it. Tell some facts about the camera. Research some things that people talk about the camera and answer it yourself. Also, have something to compare it with. Thats a really good thing.
