but there were no missed approaches the pilot kept making rounds. it changed the arrival time from 11:35am (20min ahead) to 11:55am (on schedule) to 12:04pm (9min behind) but when we landed the rain was the worse so was the visibility like you couldnt see any planes for 2 hrs but it cleared out 2 hrs later.
how lucky! we very rarely have extreme conditions in sg, except for occasional spectacular thunderstorms that seriously reduce visibility as seen in ur vid. it's almost never windy though - you heard the capt too, it wasn't crosswinds that caused the missed approach. almost couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the vid description to be go around at SIN. i once had a really rough experience descending towards changi through huge storm clouds, but not the actual landing itself
Credits go to the SIA pilot. Wow, recently the weather have been on and off. sometimes bad sometimes good. There was one time, even when my mom was driving, the visibility was so bad. I was wondering about the pilots.
BTW, nice video, is this like the first time SIA ever made a go around or miss approach?
Credits to that SIA pilot albeit this is normal but still because this is rare in SG. We always have clear and sunny or worst is raining for a long time but poor visibilty is rare. o_O And no Jacob, it can't be the first lol. If not in SG, then in other countries yes. There's just so many flights. There's bound to be some unorthodox ones.
2:51 "It happens!" lol, only crew say that! ;-) I liked lzd's way of tackling "monsoon", full ILS CATIII Autoland and disengage if you see the RWY! You can always go 1 step lower in the APP, but not higher! Brilliant move!
you wouldn't be able to see the tarmac anyway in that seat u were seating

I hope not! A go around has nothing to do with an incident or crash!
I would be really worried if SIA crew don't do go-arounds! Champagne, suite, caviar all you want, but SAFETY FIRST! ;-)
