Also know that Jesus also interceeds with us, reference Romans 8:34: "Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died--more than that, who was raised to life--is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us". Also read John 17:6-11

God Himself was more hurt by His death than any of us.....even though He knew Jesus would come back 3 days later, it still didn't stop God from hurting. Just like any other parent, it would still hurt them to see there child suffer, even if they know they'd be OK in the end.....but it's sad that not a lot of people even appreciate what Jesus did.

Its not that the y don't appreciate it but that they keep getting bogus explanations as to why it had to happen. I'm a Christian and have yet to get a decent explanation. I don't think it was his death and bloodshed. I think the church did that to fuzz out the real story. I think its the birth that is so significant because that was a guarantee for his death. He is supposed to lead people toward the light and he can only reach us through human form and with that is death. Hu-man means death.

One book I like that helps to understand why is "The Great Controversy" by Ellen White. I don't agree with everything she wrote (I always try to take anything any person says back to the word of God/the holy spirit/Jesus) but I think this book helps explain whats going on. Another thing that helped me to understand why he had to die was just understanding my own heart/ my need for him and it's interesting how blood represents life in the human body. It wasn't just physical on the cross.

Yah the father had to come according to HIS very law. The Law Mandated that He and He as the Father in the flesh DIE so as to keep his word - His act proves he's the ultimate and only true promise keeper. The woman i.e. Israel was divorced - and according to law the HUSBAND only must die to FREE her from that LAW... the NEW Contract is with Jesus and the law in our heart as obedient Children. The OT Covenant can't help you because in a nut shell the contract is no longer valid after the divorce.
