Dont forget about the man behind the scenes. Henry Kissinger. Just as responsible for the millions of ppl killed in Cambodia, Vietnam and later Indonesia!
@NeedleFactoryTube I do not want to know about some shitty McDonalds meal with jealous black dress and sad classic car! Youtube has become fucking VEVOtube!
only saw the video for this once and loved the song so much straight away.it normally pisses me off when bands get involved in politics(im looking at you bono you short arsed little cunt)but this ones the exception.
The song is just awesome, and I think Nixon is the most under-rated president US ever had. Well, sure he made some mistakes on his path of Presidency, but we can't forget what he did for the world, like great warming in Soviet-US relationship, etc. I think if there wasn't Watergate, if he had 4 years more to work, the Cold War could end 20 years earlier without that Hollywood boy Reagan craptalk, fuel crisis, and next-coming Gulf-war and half-dozen smaller military conflicts.
This song is hypnotic. I read it as an anti-Kennedy song. Many (even on the left) are used to think about Nixon as the worst president and to praise JFK as the best one, but they forget the Bay of Pigs and Vietnam.
@Pinger1983 You may be right. In an interview about the song the Manics said, "If Radiohead are Kennedy, then the Manic Street Preachers are Nixon: the ugly duckling who had to try 10 times harder than anyone else. Paranoid megalomaniacs."
He was not bad. I think Watergate drowned many of his good deeds, but overall he wasn't great because he fucked over one of the fundamental rules of presidency.
I never knew that there was a song about Richard Nixon. I will listen to every song about Richard Nixon as long as it portrays him in a positive way. I want to visit his presidential library.
Its so beautiful and cool song with a lyric that no one has writen before.

Posibly the best of the always dreadful presidents of the American Soviet Union. No matter what their ideology or party is.

If you thought Nixon was bad, look at Truman, Reagan and Bush II...

Richard Nixon was one of the most likeable, most "human" presidents of the 20th century.

On of the greatest presidents that US had!
Love build around the sandy beaches
Love rains down like Vietnam's leeches
Richard the third in the White house
Cowering behind divided curtains
Brilliant lyrics!
