Folks think gas prices are high now wait till we have a hurricane or 2 in the gulf and they threaten a refinery? Or if one takes not the path of Katrina or Rita but right up the mouth of the MS river where all those refineries are located. All them motorheads are going to wish they had learned how to be conservative. The best thing president BO could do is REDUCE the speed limit. That is the fastest way to conserve fuel. We have a $5 bus runs Baton Rouge New Orleans you can bet people are on it.

What we need to do is build more refineries and open up the bakkan oil field, anwar and others to increased drilling. As for offshore Im pretty nervous about that right now cause of bp spill. but still we could replace all the oil we get from arabs if we utilized the oil and natural gas resources that we have here in n america, canada included along with artic circle.

@turgeo2004 I have owned fuel efficient rides most of my life I was much better off when I saved money by driving fuel efficient rides. When I had a v8 I pissed away the money on fuel and I got there the same as if I had driven a geo metro I did the speed limit. Large vehicles require larger amounts of oil in the engine larger tires greater resistance etc. When you go faster you burn more fuel thus raising the price by increasing demand. Wont matter after July this economy is toast. JAPAN.
