If you want an African princess, however, that's different. Though not many interesting Disney storylines could come out of princesses from Africa that children would be interested in unless they wanted to get into folktales.

Yeah, the one thing I noticed this movie really lacked was memorable music. Other than that I thought it was a great movie. It's not like the music is BAD or anything, it just doesn't have the same catchy charm as the old Disney cartoons from my childhood.

@CapnMarcoPolo Well I would say it's on the verge of being bad well some of the songs. I did like Friends on the Other Side and Dig a Little Deeper. But then even they suffered from the same problem the other songs did. I think Disney was trying to play it safe with the music too. They didn't really know if kids would like the standard big musical numbers so they toned it down.

I think the song "Almost There," is actually very charming and beautiful. Just because a song isn't upbeat doesn't make it necessarily boring.

And I disagree with your point on making the entire movie in the dec-flat dimension style. It would be very simplistic, boring and the animation would look older, more Disney vintage and antique. Not to mention, variety in animation styles makes thing more endurable to watch and enjoy. Diversity increases visual appeal!
