The movie would be perfect to me, if it could get rid of the Nazi element, because the film is about the relationship between a woman and a boy, and it doesn't need extra political or humanitarian themes to just please the Academy and critics.
But, if that Nazi element wasn't in the story or film, how else can we see how far Hanna Schmitz would protect her secret and at what cost she would go to protect it?
God... I hate these guys. Why? Well, they don't speak like real film critics. They speak like they're sports analysts. They might as well be reading you the synopsis of the film while clips play over top of them.
Thankfully we now have Scott and Phillips back in the balcony.
I am mesmerized by this movie .... read a book and have sen the moie 4 x and still has same afect on me...so sad , complex, guilt ridden , brings so many different emotions .... yes , you can't help but feel sorry for both caracters , such a tragic love affair , the best movie of 2008!!!! Amazing cast ....by all
I think the worst movie in her career was Titanic. And so as Dicaprio. I hated that movie...Since then both became such great actors. Dicaprio did so many cool movies. Kate in Revolutionary Road was amazing and in this movie she realy nailed it.
I agree with them. I was watching this movie yesterday and even after knowing about the terrible crimes of this character, Hannah, I couldnt understand how come I still pitied her and felt sad for her. It's a really complex character (and movie), because as Michael himself, you know you should despise her but you cant get yourself to do it. I can only imagine how hard was it to interpret it, good for Kate
most brits artist are dead good in acting due to their theatrical background. and the british comedians are so hilarious lol. Paul Whitehouse for instance hehehehe
It does seem that this movie has a strong element and contains a peodophile relationship. I thank those that have agreed with me. I am really stunned by how Hollywood has mis-read this and let it go through the net. Rmance with a juvenile is acceptable? Think again what you are watching.
The book is by far the best ive read.....Truly amazing and its a really amazing story too that makes you wonder if this really happened or not.... Recommended to all ages...not so difficult to read and very short...i finished it in 2 days and finished Deathly Hallows in 3 (harry potter....Just a reference)
