I don'[t know about the movie. But part of the plot in the book is that animal abuse is wrong. So more people who see the movie and read the book will be less likely to abuse animals. Subconciously a bomb will be planted at the back of there mind and it will go off if they are about to hurt an animal reminding them of Water for Elaphants. So no worries!

The elephant of this movie is or was not abused. If it was the elephant would show visible animosity toward rob and Reese at least once.I have watched many interviews with both actors and they love Tai the elephant. Maybe if you or anyone has a problem with the " mistreatment " they should call the studio instead of complaining via YouTube comment.

If they did theyre choice would be to be free but they succumb to fear, because these people beat on them with illegal weapons. This endemic species travel at least 30 miles per day in their natural habitat although in the circus they walk about 3 miles. In fact there is prove about the elephant in movie badly being injured just for the movie.
