It takes a lot more then just telling a computer to do things. People actually do have to play instruments. And actually, there is more freedom in how the music sounds with the computer. In rock, and heavy metal, you may only create a sound that an instrument can make. Eventually, you'll run out of originality.

And in-fact, it is harder to make pop, dubstep, and other electronic music compared to this. And it actually requires more talent as you have to engineer the sounds, then you have to lay down all the separate instruments.
