Fair play to the play to the old fella....

  • Did he drive home and if so was he caught and breathalised.

    The Lead Barron.

  • I wanna try this so bad. and he makes it look so easy

  • Inspirational - I am 63 and just starting an EPC course in Wiltshire. Nice to learn from the experiencs of others.

  • eddie the eagle's new career move

  • Yes what a trooper to stick with it. You did well if you were still learning

  • 10/10 for tenacity! brilliant, really enjoyed watching, i have a feeling that i will be like that:)

  • What a trooper! Glad he stuck with it and didn't get frustrated..

  • wow !

  • He did pretty good once he got it overhead. Not to bad for an older man...good for him !!!

  • Ahahah this one was bloody hilarious hehe :D

  • so funny

  • Hi, weight shouldn't be a problem as long as you are fit enough to undertake the training. If you are fit enough then there should be a wing out there for you. Best Check with an instructor. Good luck if you go ahead.

  • @gmcomc And don't underestimate how much fitness is required, especially whilst training. Top to bottoms up a steep hill can be a killah.

  • great vid mate..i want to learn but i am very heavy..22stone to be pecise.. would a tandom canopy worck for me do ya think..

    kind regards.

  • Love it, Brings back memories!!

  • I stopped paragliding because I thought I was too old at 64. This gives me new hope. Thanks

  • Fair play to him, he was persistant, I'd imagine he is loving this sport now! Very good video, great, the music is a perfect match! Happy flying guys!!

  • Scary stuff!!

  • Funny vid, though. Cheers!

  • Sorry to be a party pooper, but you have no idea how lucky Michael is.

Doing maneuvers at low altitude with high winds by a beginner?! Scary stuff!! Did you see how his wing was not penetrating towards the end of the vid?. I'm glad that nothing happened and I hope Michael is progressing in this beautiful sport. Just don't take any unnecessary chances, Remember each pilot has two pockets (an experience pocket and a luck pocket) try to fill the first and never run out of the latter. Blue skies!

  • A pleasent comment, Only reason the wing wouldn't go forwrd was because he kept applying the brakes, an easy beginners mistake when things go wrong. Michael has been flying safely for some time now and still enjoying the sport. Cheers

  • I've watched 100's of beginner videos and that was the best. I'm 65 and looking into getting into this sport. I'm a pilot and this just plain looks like fun....

  • hey an Airwave Harmony ! that was my first wing too....

  • thats great to see, and i hope i'm that enthusiastic at his time of life :-) infact thats just made my mind up i'm gonna start this sport

  • good landings

  • Bravo!....

  • Never to old to learn or even to fall on your ass a few (hundred) times, Well done Gramps, now can you teach me how to fly please!?!?!

  • Wow that equipment really takes some abuse.

  • I like his style. Thanks for sharing this vid ; )

  • "where did i leave my helmet?" - LOL. Nice one.

  • Not a good technique for launching, should be using 'a' and either 'c' or 'd' lines to make it happen correctly everytime

  • thats how he rocks it man....straight outa the glen...respect

  • hilarious!

  • how do i get training? how much is it?

  • Hey Adam I just did a beginners course in Ager Spain for €500 and €70 for the licence from the Spanish authorities. Was brilliant see my vids.

  • Brilliant!

  • ja ja ja... muy bueno!!!!

  • Good music!

  • nah! it's just his flying style!

  • Ain't it a bit windy for this guy.Looks about 17+mph.

  • Hehe brilliant, where was the clip shot about?

  • close to Belfast

  • Cool looks similar to the hills here in Scotland mate, i have spoke to a pilot from Belfast who just went through his ep maybe in same school i dont know, cant imgaine to many schools about Belfast area...Anyway keep it up..Ps that was funny tho..

  • Difficult road to clouds... Success!:)

  • Hi, music is automatically generated to fit the clip by the Pinnacle Studio video software. Gets on your nerves after a while though :-)

  • in such conditions flying is always tricky

  • Chucklesomes. I've done a couple of parachute jumps and some microlighting but never those kite things. Looks exciting and bloody scary at the same time! Great effort and hey, he flew!

  • Always funny the newbies.

  • No hacen falta infinitys ni sats para hacer un buen video de parapente. Felicidades máquina. Buenos vuelos.

  • THATS GREAT!! :))

  • Really nice one. Thank for share this kind of videos! Happy flights.

  • yep any age can learn to fly,, great video :)

  • nice video!!!!!!!

  • i love the old mans attitude as he smiles and never quits. cool.

  • Make ya smile TV at its best!

  • I mean't to say I wonder how old he was. By the way, the music was also great!

  • He is a Grandfather and now has his Club Pilot Licence, well done to him I say.

  • What a wonderful and refreshing movie clip. I wonder how that fellow was? I am an old timer (67) and I surely would love to learn how to do that. I think maybe I've arrived at my longevity just a little too soon (or too late) to learn that. I guess I can always dream and envy that lucky fellow.

  • You are never too old! my instructor is 62 and still flying, I am 45 and only starting out. Why not try a tandem flight. Go for it, life is too short. Cheers.

  • how old do you have to be to fly one

  • Let me put it this way, another pensioner (over 60) joined with my instructor and had his first days training yesterday. Old is only in the head. :-)

  • i mean min age me 15

  • I am honestly not sure, sorry. try these websites and email them with your question.

    Thanks.

  • Red streamer on the harness means = low airtime pilot stay away from the f**ker. Were we all that bad once.......(shudder) Wonder if he ever got the hang of it?
