  • Unmistakable beat! Thx for the memories...

  • The name of this band please

  • DP Express. When they first started out they were called Le Difficile de Petionville. They quickly achieved success. Then some of the members left and call themselves Le Gypsies de Petioneville. Including gutarist Robert Martino. The father of Roberto Martino from T-Vice. A rivalry started between the fans of the bands more than the bands themselves.

    Le Difficile Le Gypsies

    DP Express Scorpio?

  • DP EXPRESS was a mega Compas genre music band out of Haiti, but KASKAD COMPAS (French Antilles music collaboration band) put the "Hommage to DP EXPRESS" a mix of music hits of DP EXPRESS you hear on the slide show.

  • Tan ale, tan pa tounen.

  • Nice I was not born ..........furthermore what happen to all the good music these day?

  • This is straight fire...i wish the bands today could play like this...I'm going to go look to buy one of their CDs

  • Oh yeah, good old days...in the mid to late

70's and early 80's when DP, Scorpio, Tabou, Freres Dejean, Magnum, Bossa, Skah Shah, Super 9, Shleu Shleu. But, I was hardcore DP even when they were Les Difficiles de Petion-Ville. Then, went along with Ti Manno and Gemini All Stars.

Kfanne: The perceived combination was DP and Violette vs. Scorpio and Recine. But, I was one of the few who like DP and Recine Football Club...that's funny/

  • As a Panamian, I grew up to this as well...But having the language barrier and of course the distance, we never got updates from the music coming out of Haiti....I never new Les Difficiles and DP were one...Thanks for the info

  • The good old days in Haiti when we were moving forward with scorpio, Coupe, Rodrigue millien, Bossa combo, Taboo combo, DP Express. etc.

  • I was a diehard Scorpio fan blinded by innocence, youth , immaturity etc.for Ogoun's sake I was 8,9 or 10.I hated Dp just like I hated Violettte... i'm saying all these to thank RetroMusic for having revived a crucial period in my development as a liberated man.Next to Bob Marley, Ti Manno was the only other rastaman that affected me in positive fashion.

    Ayibobo!

  • Ahh man, My father grew up in Haiti as a teen, I grew up with this playing in my house all the time... DP Express, Les Freres Dejean, Tabou Combo... too many to name. DP Express is my favourite by farrr. Awesome vid!

  • one of the most technically sound kompas bands ever..I love my people. rest in peace to all my haitian fam that has passed away through the years. A couple of my dudes would be AMAZED to see a D.P express video, on the internet no less..

  • I was a SCORPIO fan back in those days. But I took my hat off for TI MANNO's extraordinary seeking and song writing talents. VOYE KONPA MONTE! TOUT TAN, TOUJOU SOU KONPA.

  • lol chaje foto Timanno sou slide show a. gade byen wap we l nan cover David la et all the gymnasium pics he is there with the black shirt and sweat pants.

  • a pa ti mano ka chante la.dommage qu'on n'a pas d'image of him

  • woosh! Men jazz la!!! gran classic!!!

  • Pierre Richard who? The DP singers were Herve Blues, Lesly Dauphin, Timanno, Perez Alvarez, Manigat, pascal albert, benito, larose, Eric Charles, damas, and vicky. I never heard of Pierre Richard

  • yeah Pierre Richard was on DP express his even sing that song si ou gen on fanm li al marye sa'w pou fe....that when anxito left dp to do his thing Pierre didn't last long he pass away after that album....

  • The last days of the band. That DP never actually released an album with that singer. DP had larose and Dumas on vol 10 and vol 11 (post ansito) was with Erich Charles.

  • dp express may have been the best band haiti ever had they had entertained haitians & others for a long time unfortunately videos were not as common as they are today long live their repertoire

  • mwen pa we Pierre Richard chanteur dp

  • We lived for one year on Haiti. When i lived there i head nabors. After a piriod of two months i reconised one of my nabors because one of theme played in DP EXPRESS!! Can some body who life's in Holland contact me, because i want to listen some more of dp express.Peter

  • The songs are DP Express song KASKAD COMPAS remix.

  • The name of the band playing please

  • the band is called KASKAD COMPAS. It was an Various artist project from the Antilles. A lot of the musicians were from the good old cadance days ie La Perfecta and etc

  • You have no idea how many memories this video has brought back. I was born '78 and by the age of 6, I knew the words to most of DP's songs...My mother was a "fanatique fou". Thank you
