Beautiful people of Salt lake. your meditation choices are amazing.. no need to hide out in parks.. be courageous. take a risk. in nyc we sat right in front of the stock exchange. Only thing is to be clear about rules.. that will assist the meditation to go on without stopping. one key thing to remember is to. Keep walk ways open. there must be one or 2 people making sure people are aware of this during med, that way 3 people not knowing dont ruin it for everyone else. Love it! Keep it coming!

It's "private property" but its also a public space, open to the public, where people gather, not only to shop, but to meet, and just to stroll around. It is designed that way. There are benches for sitting and fountains to gather, including spaces for children to play. In America today, the mall is like a public square, and Americans have a long history of gathering there and sharing ideas. The right of people to peaceably assemble is fundamental to what we are as a nation.

I cant believe they told them to stop filming it.... That's BEYOND FUCKED UP... You have got to be kidding me, I can understand them telling us to move, because it is 'private property', but to tell someone that they cannot film this is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS AND SOMETHING TO BE MAD ABOUT.... I'm not the one who organized this, but I'll give my personal perspective. The point of this sort of demonstration is to affect a given area with a certain kind of energy and presence to center and ground our brothers and sisters we seek to awaken. A mall is an affective setting for this as it is the center of consumerism and dissuasion from the reality of our part in the universe. A park is already a decently grounded escape from our faux-reality, while areas like the mall are more impacting

I, like peacedreamer, too agree with this movement, but I don' t think it's wise to do these kinda of things on private property. Doing this at a public park would've been wiser. As spiritual aspirants we have to remember what our ultimate goal is...liberation/moksha/enlight­enment.

@YoginiLacee I agree with you.. that is the goal. but why does anyone promote their meditation business.. or yoga.. or promote a conscious event.. its not always from a mundane intention. its can also be because we want to share consciousness.. and a new reality with the masses. Id say that you CAN .. be sincerely in meditation .. and at the same time making a public statement. And we need more people "shining their light on a hill" as jesus quotes. Both.. sincere yogis + public expression

I agree with this movement 100%. However, I have a question to whoever knows. Is the Gateway Mall public or private property and if it is private property then how is this considered to be a peaceful protest when it involves some sort of disobedience?

@peacedreamer142 id say it depends on the current situation.. and that malls definition of disobedience.. you will only know until you inquire. You could have someone ahead of time.. ask.. what is the possibility of a bunch of people coming here to meditate.. they would probably give you a set of options that you could work with.

anyone a "MOB" means disobedience.. lol.. obedience to the flow of the universe.
