you'd have to be in a special club to go that party i'd love to have gone to that one the best ever musician john lennon wow andy warhol imagine having a photo authographed wow
@zyxquark Amen bro. Everytime you see John, he had a cig in his mouth. I love the guy to death, but the cigs would have got him eventually. If not for Chapman he probably would have met the same fate George did. It's what my father died from.
holy crap, i had a dream the other night I was invited to a party at John's, and it looked exactly the same, witout me knowing about this footage 0___0
Thanks for the upload - nice to see that psychedellic rolls agian! ........ *sigh* just one time I wish I could have hung out with John, and not as JOHN LENNON but... just John.
These aren't John's home movies, this is Jonas Mekas' film "Happy Birthday To John" , including footage from J & Y's '72 exhibition at Syracuse, John's b'day party on the same day & the "One To One" concert at MSG. The other party footage was shot at Allen Klein's house. Note that the final sequence was shot during the 10 min silence following John's death.
Some great footage here- where else could you get to see John Lennon playing basketball with Miles Davis w. Andy Warhol taking pictures?!
@matooli Yes, regarding the final sequence, I think the ten minutes of silence was the following Saturday, which would have been December 13, 1980. This is pretty great stuff to watch.
Oh, my God! It is hilarious to see John shoot a basketball. It's funny because I used to hold the ball that way when I played youth basketball, until I learned the proper form. You can tell why he never liked sports! Hehehe :)

@matooli
I did notice the final sequence. Thanks for your information. I still call them home videos though because they are of a candid nature.

Also, all audio is taken from John's 31st birthday party although the dates of the video vary.
