I think my favorite part is when the Phantom and Christine are in the bpoat and they start singing "In all your fantasies..." and it goes on. That part always hits my core for some reason i don't know why. MC and SB did am amazing job, I don't care what anyone says
@xPhoenixoftheOperax You know.. I actually agree with you. I, for some reason or other, somehow feel uplifted when I hear that part.. especially when the Phantom commands Christine to sing for him. You get an immense sense of power from the Phantom as he does this and its always incredible to listen to.. Would you agree?
@jakeblues875 Yes I totally agree with your statement. This musical is just wonderful and uplifting anyways. This musical is what actually inspired me to want a degree in music and be part of musicals and plays. I never would have done if I hadn't seen The Phantom of the Opera. Bravssima to Mr. Webber!!
Lol....I think it was a very wise choice that they didn't use a real elephant like what Jonathan Allen said, because I was at the zoo one time and I got to see the elephants being bathed up close (and pardon my language) they have craps the size of a cinder block! Believe me! A very nervous/excited elephant would not last long onstage.....plus with all their massive bulk there would be a huge hole in the stage!!!!!
@71crm I know I saw a local High School production of The Phantom of the Opera last year and I loved it except the fact that I saw a cut out image of the elephant for the Hannibal scene in the opening of act one and eventhough the elephant was not real,I still enjoyed the production wich I saw with my mother and my best friend I should know I've seen The Phantom of the Opera 5 times!
That white horse just cracked me up. You could tell on the last floor of the balcony that the thing is super fake. The rats aren't much better but at least they're SEMI-creepy.
Don't want to see the characters and their story butchered for future generations?
Then be appalled to know that in Lloyd Webber's unwelcome sequel, entitled LOVE NEVER DIES, which is based on a flop novella by Frederick Forsyth, the Phantom no longer composes opera but trashy vaudeville while not being a bartender, Christine sleeps around, Meg becomes a topless dancer who murders Christine and Raoul becomes an alcoholic.
@LoveShouldDie You sound utterly ridiculous. You need to get over being so precious about Phantom - if you were a true fan, like me, you'd be excited by the sequel. I saw it and it was wonderful.

God I love Claire. I wish she was the original ! It's so funny that after Claire's reviws came back, all strongly posative Sarah suddendly recovered! She really thought no one but her could sing it!
claire is good sure...but come on....she fails in comparison to Sarah Brightman...its Sarah Brightman, once you hear that Angelic voice, she ruins you for any other singer...atleast for me...
Why bis it that they love that Wilkinson/Caine video so much? Do they not have any other clip of thatsequence? It's a great clip, and excellent cast, but not the one they're focusing on...
@MadameChristie It's now- stock footage that they're able to use repeatedly that was filmed from multi-angles in a way that the original london production wasn't
The Phantom that sings "The Phantom of the Opera" at the end is not Michael Crawford, but Colm Wilkinson. In my opinion, he would have been a good choice as well.
Wow-Claire is amazing. I actually kind've perfer her to Sarah-though they're both great. But for someone who had to fill in at the very last minute with no rehersals, Claire sounds amazing! God knows I couldn't do that xD
On the contrary, I prefer Sarah's voice, I find her voice more pure and beautiful, but Claire's voice is breathtaking too; I'd love to have recordings of her Phantom songs.
Thats stupid...They interview Michael but they don't use MICHAELS ASEWOME VOICE and version of THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA song in this segment! They use his singing in every other segment of this documentary but not this one. By the way Michael Crawford is freaking awesome! Plus hes sooooooooooo damn cute and sexy!
Do you know what I would like? I would like to see the Phantom without all the corrections, like, um,... the full mask... the first why so silent thing, ect. that would be awesome
:) claire moore is god! i hope one day to be on as christine in london, and bring back her strength! many people say we have sim iliar voices, that makes my day <3
Michael Crawford and Steve Barton are awesome. I like Sarahs and Claires voices. There both pretty. Michaels voice just floors me and I love how beautiful and smooth it is. It's like velvet. I loved MCs Phantom. He wsn't just a great actor but sang the part fantastically well to and his body language was incredible. Thank you Michael for helping to create a new take on the Phantom that everybody else has tried to imitate in there performance since then.
