  • Alf garnett rocks !

  • Is that Carrott coming down the stairs @ 7.58???

  • No plug, no guarantee. That is how it was. If they put the plug on for you. (Ten Bob) It was guaranteed for six months. When my dad returned it, after two years, they gave him a new one, or the shop stopped trading. Class

  • i remeber the days when things came with no plug on them lol!!!! Would never happen these days.

  • I think i will try that 2morrow in TESCO

    S HA HA

  • "This is me turning you off." lmfao

  • "Gotcha." ahahahaha

  • 2000 pounds for that peice of crap!

  • @summertimeloveful I know what your talking about, I got a HD 43ins flatscreen TV for £450 from Tesco.

  • @darkastonvillafan But will it last as long as the sets in the above video? Most of the sets above are still easily repairable. Speaking of repairs, they are usually still working.

Would you say the same about a HD set from Tesco for that price?

I know for a fact it won't even last a quarter of what the sets in the above video last.

  • @summertimeloveful Sets like that were top of the market at the time. I'd much rather have something like that nowadays than this flat screen rubbish. Not only do they only last about 5 years, they are usually unrepairable when they break down.

At least CRTs had better contrast and were actually reliable!

  • I remember this! This was the first episode of a new series, and the very first line is "Bloody 'ell!" The next series started with Alf sitting in his living room, switching OFF the television and shouting "Crap!"

  • Smoking in a shop....That is awesome !

  • lmao here...........if my other half becomes like this i will have to shoot him!

  • Class

  • is this from "Till Death do us part" or "in sickness and in health"?

  • @stevel1430 It's from In Sickness... :)

  • Classic comedy

  • I grew up watching British shows like Monty Python,Dr.Who,Benny Hill,Dave Allen at Large, and To the Manor Born, on our local PBS stations...but I have never seen this show before, I dont think it was ever on here in the USA.

  • @mari66101 It was, sort of. Remade there and renamed as All in the Family. The show from which this clip was taken (In Sickness and In Health) from was the sequel to the show, Till Death us Do Part, that spawned All in the Family.

  • "Here's Maggie Thatcher, I'll have her ankles, argghhh grrrr!"

  • Looks like richer sounds lol.

  • As much as i like this. Its an example of how a disability mainly color for fear of being called a racist, or creed can be used to get what you want, to me its a good example of why this country has gone political correct mad. No wonder the country is up the spout.

  • @onabreeze dont talk crap

  • what year was this made?

  • 8:40 what a laugh

  • Very clever Stalinist propaganda!

    Cunts must be shot!

  • Two grand for that shit!? LCD/Plasma aren't worth two grand today.

  • @brightlights456X Never mind that shit. I'm an electronic engineer, and I can safely say to you that not only would a Philips Matchline like the set that you refer to have been worth more than that, it would have been made with more reliable electronic components and more care than a modern set. Plus it would have contained at least three new technologies fior the time: SCART connectors, NICAM stereo and Teletext. three brand new features, made with care and with reliable components all add up!

  • @AidanLunn

Hummm, perhaps. However, modern sets have their own equivalent of "new technologies". HD/3D HDmi USB and SCART.

  • @brightlights456X Well, technically, SCART isn't new. SCART has been around since the late 70s in France, and the mid-80s in the rest of Europe. The reason why the laubnch was delayed outside of France is because the French government wanted just French-made TV sets to be sold in france, so they made it a law that all TV sets in france must have a SCART input. however, it's not that difficult to make SCART connections and make an input that bypasses the TV tuner as other manufacturers learned.

  • @AidanLunn

I never knew that, but what I ment was todays tv's have new tech as well as old....like SCART.

  • At the start of this clip you can see a yellow and red Philips "Roller" I used to have one of those back in the day =)

  • wow 2grand for a telly like that haha

  • It's a lot better than the junk sold these days.

  • Who wrote the script?

  • @karuspery Johnny Speight
