THe final book is being completed by his wife and brother. Both knew the entire story from start to end. I belive that his wife was his editor. It is apparently out this fall. Last I heard unless it was delayed again.

Actually, the final book (now split into three books) is being written by Brandon Sanderson, author of the Mistborn Trilogy. He was chosen by Harriet, Robert Jordan's wife, to finish the series using Jordan's notes and unfinished writings. Harriet will be editing the book, just as she did with all the others.

We've seen good books turned into good movies. Lord of the Rings, Some of the Harry potter ones. I don't know why you think they'd slaughter the story line, seeing how they haven't even got a Director to make the film, and when they do he's certainly going to be a fan of the books. Universal studios knows what they're doing seeing how they spent the money on obtaining the right to make the movies they're gonna want a good film.

Yes, the plot is very complex, but when they adapt it into a movie they will only put the main, and important details in there. Lord of the Rings is a complex setting and plot, but when they boiled it down, and filmed it it turned out very well and you could still understand what was happening. Lord of the Rings as a book was a complete mess, and making that mess into something amazing was almost impossible, but with The Wheel of Time, its already laid out perfectly, and the dialogue is good.
