  • Which program do you recomend to use make slow motion videos?

  • and how the gopro makes slowmotion? uses the same place of the sensor 120 times per second, or uses diferent parts of the sensor and the internal software organize the frames?

  • @caligulaminux its 120p so it uses the same frame every time. it is not interlased

  • isn't possible to mount different external lenses to this camera? I've seen lenses with a magnetic ring that you put in your camera, and can convert your camera in another one with "different lenses" (external lense + internal lense). There isn't this kind of lenses for the GoPro?? That could beat the characteristics of the camera without using cropping, without loses of quality, and with a lot of improvements. Do you have probed in water for squba?

  • hi just picked a hero2 today. playing around with it now. i intend to use it for travelling eg. angkor wat in cambodia... i'm not really a fan of the square ratio.. i prefer the wide angle but don't want to sacrifice on fps. do you recommend 720p @ 60fps to be a good setting for travelling / capturing a wedding in the evening?

  • @timothyj no, i would say for traveling or a wedding go with the full hd and the 25fps or 30fps depending on your location, only if doing sport go with the 720p

  • awesome video Dom...nice editing and timing too!

  • I don't understand one thing... FOV 170º doesn't depend of the lense? If gopro doesn't have interchangeable lenses, are 127º and 90º a digital interpolation?

  • @caligulaminux correct, it is a 11mp sensor so it is just using the cropped in resolution of the centre of the sensor thus making it look like it is zoomed in a little

  • @iiidrum No included software with new Gopro... In my opinion best one will be Apple video editing software, but extremely expensive and you need to have a really good Apple machine, or cheap, very stable and with enough editing options for most - Corel video studio x4 pro.

With both u will need very good computer to play HD videos smoothly... I recommend 720p 60 fps settings...

  • @drezikm GoPro is not a shock proof... It's shock resistant, and only when inside the original housing. It's a pretty tough little camera with a really great video quality, but terrible Mic.

  • Excellent video...best so far. Thanks!

  • Good vid,,, thanks for the good info!!!! Cheers.

  • this is probably a stupid question but i hope you can answer it : GoPro or shockproof camera like newer Panasonic TS4 ?

  • Love the shirt :P

  • thx for this nice video !

  • Dumb question, how are you changing the speed? Post processing?

  • i recon i could take it to 0.5 percent.

  • Thanks for this.

  • I just orderd my GoPro 2, does it come with a program to edit videos and make them high speed or what is it ? I'm not very good with this

  • and when you say the camera is at full speeds and half sppeds. how r u changing the speeds? using your video editor or r u changing it on your camera?

  • hey if u dont mind me asking. when you start showing the difference in slow motion. what video editing system are you using?

  • go pro > SLR

  • So your screen size is 2560x1440 because the 1080p doesn´t even fill the screen I guess.

Nice and clear demonstration by the way. :)

  • Nice demo dom, and i really like your video. BUT you should do it outside home in a sunny day, cause gopro would have faster shutter speed and lower ISO so that i would have crispier images and not have this noise you show in the video. Gopro is an action cam and that's it's purpose.

Second, please point out what you get with what price when buying a gopro..

anyway, nice video, thank you and i hope next time you do more tricks! :)

  • Nice vid Dom! i got one of these and love it!

  • haha^^ i shoot babies!

  • Great video. Really shows the capabilities of the hero 2. Thanks!

  • Man, this is an excellent video and very detailed in the explanation. The people that gave the thumbs down deserve a swift kick in the ASS.

  • bravo ottimo video

  • v good video

  • great video!

  • Hey Dom...thank you for your demonstration...i was thinking about buying this camera for skateboarding...filming lines with fisheye effect...is the 960 p the best solution for filming upclose?

  • whats the process for slowing the film in the editing programme, is it just a matter of making the footage smaller once on its track, I use sony vegas

  • I am getting one of these for doing mountain ridges in the lake district and Scotland do you think it will do the job from a wide angle point of view your input would be much appreciated thanks.

  • @gazgolfer100 this is the camera to get. please make some videos of you biking and send me a link to them, my advice would be to shoot at 960p 48fps to make sure you get everything

  • That was a fantastic breakdown! Thanks!

  • Thankyou great video

  • how the nikon lens is working on the 550D !!?

  • gopro 2 wasnt a huge hit tbh... i was happy with 120 frames till i found out its only for WVGA.

  • do you really shoot babies?

  • I use Apple Compressor to convert to the original file to ProRez(LT), then Cinema Tools to conform 720p60 to 30fps(29.97). With the Hero1, my audio does not slow down gracefully. It plays 2x a few milliseconds at a time. I'm forced make a separate audio file (pre-conform) then link in the FCP timeline. Have you experienced this? I hope this was fixed on the Hero 2. Can you share your trans-coded file type, and conform workflow? I'd live to not have this hassle when conforming the footage.

  • Just got my hero 2 today, and the video has a night vision sort of look to it, is there something wrong?

  • Nice really helps :)

  • Excellent video man, very very well done.

  • Very good comparison! Thank you!

  • Superb video! Perfectly done :)

  • aside from the awesome video, you've got some cool juggling skills!

  • Good video and nice editing!

  • You are wearing an AWESOME t-shirt!

  • awesome demonstration! Thanks Dom!

  • Hello Dom, just a bit out of stream, could Yo check please if everything is ok with Your Youtube channel? When I'm receiving notifications and click link I can watch Your new video, but when go directly to channel I can watch the latest one and then something like 11 months old, I've tried to sort them in any way but can not see the latest vids :(

    br

    Mac

  • @MacSadowskiPhoto the latest videos are 6 down, the top 6 are my featured videos..

  • Solid fps and slow mo comparison.

  • When you go to 120fps, does it have to bumb the ISO -- get noisy -- to accommodate the much faster shutter speed/less light per frame?

  • @rticknor i guess so, but you aint ever going to find out what the iso is as you cant manually adjust it and I dont have any video software that details the ISO during the video

  • This intro is awesome Dom, I actually rewound to watch it again before I got to the main video content....

  • You can kinda look the video in 3d if you cross your eyes at 0:18

  • awesome video..

  • the BEST INTRO EVER

  • This overanalyzing video is extremely relevant to my interests.

  • wow. nice job Dom. most informative video you have ever made I must say. very well put together video

  • Got to say that was very well edited, did not look easy to do haha

    Well done :)

  • withe balance :P
