win-win solution for everyone... Warcraft RTS fans wouldnt feel discriminated, while WoW players (who actually care about the storyline and lore) would get new points of view to the story, Warcraft IV could only make the storyline of WoW even better for them.

So I really pray hope that Blizzard will one way or another continue Warcraft IV from WC3: Frozen Throne, because otherwise they have totally and forever ruined my favorite game series of all time =(

To be honest, this whole Cataclysm thing will hurt Warcraft IV.

They spent about what, 250,000 or so making the damned 30-second long Intro to please people into thinking they spent ANY real time at all on WoW.

Don't play an MMO and expect Lore!

I wish the Lich King lived, not this stupid Dragon/Cataclysm business. I mean seriously, "Dragons"? That's just a quick copied Plot.

I think the storyline of Warcraft would really deserve that, because in WoW all these great characters got killed, just becuase WoW needed raidbosses....in RTS games there are no such limitations in storytelling,part of great storytelling is that sometimes evil survies and even wins, just like in Warcraft III...not all of the characters wouldnt have to die, Arthas for example could redeem himself, instead of getting killed and get cheaply replaced by Bolvar, could have redeemed himself somehow

It really pains me to see what WoW has done to Warcraft....and I really pray and hope that WHEN Blizzard does Warcraft IV the lore raping events of WoW will be more or less ignored and Warcaft IV continues the storyline where it ended in Frozen Throne. Because Warcraft IV without all these great characters, Illidan, Arthas etc would be totally lame, the worst thing Blizzard could do is to set the events of WoW between Warcraft III and Warcraft IV

You act like there is a WC4 when I haven't even heard rumors of it yet... Also, Blizzard isn't completely putting the lore to crap, they are finally really doing something decent lore wise when it comes to Cataclysm... Yeah they killed off Illidan and Arthas, but for now, the lore continues within WoW, not another Warcraft game.

I really get tired of people being too critical on Blizz, while they could do better, they are doing a fine job with the Warcraft story.

@lambro101 There has been lot of rumors,Rob Pardo (lead designer of WC3 and WoW) said already back in 2008 that after Starcraft II is completed,WC4 would most likely be the next project of that Starcraft II team and that the campaings of WC4 would be designed the same way as SC2 campaings,released and sold seperately

So yea, Warcraft IV is still years away, but when it is released,it could tell completely its own version of the story the storyline that would have been told,if WoW never happened

Warcraft 3 was the most epic game, of all the Warcrafts. Then World of Warcraft came, and was ALMOST just as epic. But after TBC, and Wotlk, it just isn´t the same anymore :(

ehm, NOT. I will agree that the WC series has a very well TOLD lore, and especially the 3rd is truly an epic experience, but lorewise WC3 is very unoriginal, Blizz can however, when the feel like it, make excellent lore, the lore of Diablo is f.x. truly original.
