Um.. because one single branch at the bottom was danging? I think being hacked, nearly killed, on life support so that you stay alive JUST long enough to be dressed up and humiliated with awful decorations and ultimately thrown out to your death, and carried off in a garbage truck is just a BIT more awful than a cat playing with a bulb on one of your branches.

I guess my cat is "to good" to do this. We have balls and plenty of sparkly dangly things at the bottom and our two dogs have paid more attention to the tree than she has. Kinda nice and refreshing.

We put the cat away, put the least sparkly ornaments at the bottom, & when we had finished & nothing was moving, we let the cat out. She didn't even notice the tree. She actually walked right into the tree, thus breaking it's perfect balance & bringing it down. Why the cat is still alive, I am unsure.

Found a way to keep my cat from breaking them. I found some plastic ornaments that look like the glass ones but are cat safe! He can play with em and I don't have too worry about him getting hurt. Unless he knocks the tree down again
