I call bs, tau weapons wouldn't simply deflect off a sister of battle like that. tau weaponry is far too powerful, though the units themselves are somewhat fragile, the round(s) the tau shot at the commander when she walked in would have caused some serious boobie damage at the very least.

They all serve the Emperor FFS, they should just get along and ensure victory for the Emperor first and settle the beef between them afterwards. (but really, the commanders shouldn't be fighting... Would be more rational to settle their agruements in an imperial court of some sort rather than wasting the Emperor's soldiers + ammo on each other)

Not quite. They have power armor like the Space Marines, but not the genetic enhancements and aren't as well trained. In terms of quality, they are above the Imperial Guard, but bellow the Space Marines, and are in between both of them in numbers.

They have a very different style of fighting, one of the notable things being that they are very fond of flame weapons.

From what I read about, you aren't missing much. Aside from adding the Sisters of Battle and another new race called the Dark Eldar, Soulstorm doesn't really offer anything new, it's voice acting is subpar, the plot for the campaign is cheap recycle of Dark Crusade's, and the game itself was released pretty much half finished and has a number of bugs in it.

If you're curious about the Dark Eldar, they are eviler versions of the Eldar that raid planets, torture and murder the inhabitants and eat their souls to avoid their own souls being eaten by Slannesh. They are similar in gameplay to the Eldar, but have more of an emphasis on firepower. They're considered to underpowered in the tabletop game because they haven't received any updates in about 7 years, and don't appear especially popular either, so they're an odd choice to include.

@dragonstormx According to the most recent 40K rulebook, there are far less sisters than Space Marines. There are 'three major orders' consisting of 'thousands' of sisters, with a larger number of smaller orders consisting of a hundred or so.

tl;dr: Sisters are a very inconsequential force in 40K these days.
