I swear this song and this whole album, The Galilean Satellites, reminds me of the game "Dead Space" so much. Like the fact that it's about a lone man in space facing challenges and changes occuring in him, much like Isaac Clarke. The mention of a "monolith that knows the tales of his own misery, much like the Marker artifact in the game that goes inside his mind and reads it. And the planet setting, Europa and Aegis 7. I love listening to this album while i play the game, it fits perfectly.
@VladFerdinand1 It's so awesome, the album is actually a story about a man's journey through space, Départe being the departure of his journey, and he eventually finds he has left all that he cared about behind himself.
Yeah, but their newer songs don't have the same heavy guitar sound and the mix sounds more distant and thick... the vocals sound quiet and nothing is crisp...
the guitar sounds like a song by a day to remember called mr highway thinking about the end but rosetta song its amazing i love rostta and a day to remember too
@julideathboy agreed with the guy who said "what are you even....how could you even....how can you live with yourself after.....how?" This song was released before your that.
I love this music, generas elude my mind and I do not prefer them anyways. Reminds me of the spacey alternative rock of the 90s. Bands like 'HUM' and 'Failure' and such.

I agree music is a universal laungauge that should entertain, teach, and unite people especially music that reflects human preception of aesthetics and expression of emotion like this.
@Tristanight ty ty.. i mean cmon its music.. its suposed to unite people all around the world.. Instead of debating tabs and Isis Vs Tool or Godspeed You! Black Emperor VS Explosions In The Sky and all that crap, search for more music share it and feel the luv :P Greetings from Greece.. :D

God dammit I am having an impossible time finding this record. I want to own the cd so I can stand in the chaotic stereophonic glory. Dammit ... I'm crying now ... this is the best art metal/doom drone monster awesome music ...
I swear I thought the rocket for taking off in slow motion for the first like half of this video.

I am disappointed. Not by the music - it's fuckin amazing - but because I feel like this song can only truly be enjoyed 100% by seeing the band live.
*scurries off to see if Rosetta is touring*

Aaron Turner defined it as "Thinking man's metal" or "post-metal". I like Aaron turner as a musician so I like his definition.
SufferingLuka 2 years ago 3
It's not drone nor stoner.
This fits in "post-metal" genre, despite it being consiedered the retardest genre ever by many, since calling a band SLUDGEDRONEPUNKCOREWITHSOMEWIRDSHITOKTHXLOLOL AND WHAT IS WITH THE POST-BLABLA TREND YOU GUISE ARE RETARDS :DD is much cooler.

I don't think you know what "stoner" really is.
PROTIP: Rosetta sounds NOTHING like Electric Wizard, Stone in Egypt, or Grand Magus
