Shoudai 正代、the All Japan Champion, is a great player & leader! There is no way to predict what target he will strike and he can hit any target.
I have seen NO ONE in any martial art, or sport (which kendo is not), display such GREAT EFFORT...動力!
Kanagawa Ken 神奈川県 has another Great Hidari Jodan kendoist. His name is Koyama小山先生, and I believe he will be an 8th dan soon... He is older than Shoudai, but still Very Young.
I took a quick look at the International Kendo Foundation website. In World Championship prior to this one Korea placed first and Japan 3rd in the men's team competition. Guess who won the 12 World Championships prior to that? I can understand how they felt. It's the same thing I see with some sports in the USA. Nations feel entitled to certain sports as it's part of their identity.
3:30 - ouch. well one of the many ouches in this match. I think the Koreans had a very rough tactic this year, from watching all of the korean vids that i can find both men and women, i see that they MAY have been told to stay in tsubazerai and be quite rough... that being said the Japanese shared there own fair share of roughness! but great match, very exciting!

I'm surprised Communist Chinese hasn't bashed on this video yet to stir up hate between Koreans and Japanese. CCP are good for nothing

I thought the japanese wanted to win a lot more than the korean, they wanted so much you could almost feel that in the air.
