it seems like jordan is the only one who admits that he had to go through detroit to be awinner.. we know.. we watched.. jordan is the best ever, but he wouldnt be if he never had to play detroit.. and joe dumars
This was back before the ridiculous Jordan reverence kicked in. When he returned from his first retirement, players were suddenly afraid to knock him down. The Pistons and the Knicks hadn't been afraid, but those teams were essentially gone by then. Jordan was treated with this foolish reverence during the Bulls' second threepeat. Larry Bird talked about it in one of his books. As Indiana's coach in 1998, he told his players they needed to knock Jordan down, but they were too afraid.
@HaulinHearse Think people got so pissed over what Bynum did because he did it to such a small player. It just doesn't look good when a 7'2 guy hits a 5'8 guy out of mid-air. Plus Bynum's kind of a whiny bitch...
Exactly "Back when the NBA was the NBA." Today's players only care about how much money they make !! They wouldn't stand a chance against the teams back then...who played to compete.
I wouldn't be surprised if David Stern bans "mean looks" on the court.
You fucking said it man... I can´t stand a NBA game since late 90s. The players are (with exceptions, of course) a big joke. C. Anthony? Get the fuck out of here...
So, it´s really interesting to watch this old wars from 80s and 90s. Sspecially when you can find & download most of the great playoff series from that era.
This Bad Boys team of the 90's were the ones I remembered when I was kid. The real classic wars were between Charles Barkley's sixers and the Pistons. Laimber and Barkley were on each other's grills every game.
What's so funny was that Laimbeer grew up in L.A....HATING L.A. so when they beat the Lakers he was just laughing at them. Now we're faced with hugging players which could cost you a suspension LOL.

It's ridiculous how people are acting like Andrew Bynum is the devil now. Basketball was a lot more violent in the 80's and 90's.

Mahorn had some self control. If Doug Collins jumped on my back and I am as big as Mahorn, I would make a point of beating his ass...
