Man, I still have my Digitech's RP-1! Can't believe it came out in 1992 and now it's up to RP-500. And RP-1 still kicks all the new version's asses. The first patch in the rig(forgot what it was called) was absolute dynamite killer metal sound.

Yep, I know that patch well. I used to play all the time when I first got the board. It sounds great if you put it through an all tube amp. I would look into a johnson j-station. Can be had under $100 on ebay. I actually record with it. Its really good. Its better than the rp-1, but the rp-1 still has its place. My contention is that if you buy one of those really expensive units, your paying more for parts and R&D than the actual sounds. Putting a tube pre before any board will make it sound..

I have the same Digitech Rp-1. This patch hes using sounds like my #2 and #10 patch. This board is good for only one thing: METAL!! it will do it so well. I still hold on to mine even though its almost dead. This recording on youtube butchered the sound. It sounds way better in person.

It's a modified version of the Crystalline Factory Patch. My RP1 is on its last legs - this is the only sound I can get anymore, which is pretty thin, as some have kindly pointed out. But it's all I've got so I live with it. I'm looking to buy a ToneLab SE or a Line6 Pod XTLive. Can't decide. I don't play much, but when I do I use a Gallien Kreuger 250ML practice amp.

Not to mention the amp itself sounds like pure sex. Go demo one sometime, it's worth the 200 bucks easy.

this guy never responds to any messages. i dont get it. people compliment his tone and playing left and right and he never responds. ive sent him like 3 messages on his page and no response. he sounds great but but his presence is cranked way too high. no "brown sound" there at all. eddie always ran the same "dry" signal regardless of his effects in stereo. like i said this guy definately knows how to play but listen to eddies tone and then listen to this guy. not even close.

I have a Peavey Wolfgang. It's black but DAMN, I have been wanting a red one for a LONG time and this vid just makes me want one that much more LOL! the franky is made from a 2nd Fender Strat body and neck. strats arnt too small... depends what your comparing it too... ive owned a strat/OLP music man and the size is simaler. never played a wolfy.
