  • This did not work for my kid. He is too smart, he put the book in time out and walked away

  • This absolutely does not solve a problem if the child is hurting others or deliberately disobeying after being given a warning. Putting books in a corner to provide a "happy place" is just breeding a spoiled child who has no comprehension of consequences. Experiencing parenthood firsthand on a daily basis is much harder than standing in front of an audience of adults and lecturing about parenthood. The ideas presented here are silly and delusional.

  • @rawforthesoul You know Jane has successfully raised 7 children right? So I think she has that experiencing parenthood firsthand thing covered. Her teachings are great and work well!

  • Finally! Someone gives parents specific and clear steps to take when time out doesn't work. Thanks Jane. By the way, my wife and I love the positive discipline guidelines you gave us at your site. Steve D.
