@NappsBlackPro part of it's all the crap it's running through before it gets to the ADC (which is probably something awesome like a soundblaster, lol)
however, i got a few that i'd rank right up there, very little in em, except as the mood takes you...! a few from the Dubwise casts: Satisfy My Soul Jah Jah (version), Midnight Landing, Drum n Bass Dub, Roy Fraser...
and a few more:
Reighning Dub; Death Trap; Marcus Garvey Dub; Bionic Dub; Michael Talbot Affair...
i imagine peeps could go on, but there are bare fine tunes out there, such that i don't think i could give dub of dubs to any one!? Whaddya reckon?!?
i think you should post up all them tunes you mentioned as quick as possible!! i started my dub experience with Prince Fari, then tubby/scientist, a lot of the dubs back then were just plain old versions of a Al Campbell tune or a boring rub a dub riddim with all the annoying sound fx left in!! Thats why Lee Perry studio's rate highly in my books as well as all the Johhny Osbourne/scientist calaborations
i think you're right. i was just listening to a bit of Johnny Osbourne yesterday, will look out for the collaborations.
I'll try and get round to putting a phat old mix up at some point - it might take me a few months! ;) but be sure i'll let drop by here and you know when it's done... blessings, T
I think I figured out what makes this great. It's a very simple melody, with loads of instrumentation all played very well with a human groove, mixed in a 1970s Jamaican studio with obsessive attention to the mix.
i think u are spot on mate. very well balanced intruments. i also think the pressing proccess was good to because the usuall Jamaican pock marks are absent from the disc!! (how i miss them) and there's normally some crazy old man on the shakers that drowns out the hi-hats. The roots radics had this meathod down to a T. Respek
