  • HULC? The army is run by nerds, all jocks would do well to remember this

  • RUN FOREST!

  • Где это можно купить? Возьму 1000 штук! Where can I buy it? I will take 1000 ICQ 226625867

  • @RClubperm PUT YOUR FIST IN MY ASSHOLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Worthless against Taliban. Even the Hulk himself could not help.

  • damn i'm too short to wear this :(

  • First build the mobility exoskeleton then build the defense/war exoskeleton. Trust me, walking is lot more fun than killing.

  • I wonder how much easier this would make rock climbing

  • i do wonder what bateries do they use, they must be using lithium ion , because the powere density is sick in those bateries

  • 10 mph ghay, i can sprint 15 easy

  • @BallerSkier Lol yeah but can you do that for 7 min straight?

  • @SubCommLuke on a mountain bike maybe hehehe, they should send soldies on mountain bikes in iraq, bikes are the most efficient mode of transportation , heheh, for long marches thst the best thing

  • yeah that one rasmasyan, and CMR, did you just post that to correct me? its a lame weaker version of the SARCOS and that wont change. All together, the SARCOS is meant for alot more, and is obviously better in every way except...and this is retarded....carrying its own powersource, even though it is hypocrytical to its own function. uptop is the equivalent of wes craven saying hes making a new jason, so i make a lowbudget flick name mason that is so much less but has the original idea at heart

  • pfft if this is an open to the public version they've already got a full body suit with guns strapped to it destroying east arabia, can probably fly too

  • are these going to be sold to the public? i want one for carrying crap around my property (literally, cow shit).

  • "can also be used as backbone for armor, heating/cooling systems, sensors or other custom attachments."

Am I the only one thinking that they're planning to make a silver-and-red version that folds into a stylish briefcase?

  • they should make a lighter one for the spec ops cause i dont think they'll use this much.

  • haha i notice he would still be putting a buttload of pressure on his forearms when he crawls. guess you can't have everything. this thing is cool as balls. i'm interested to know how it "works even without power" tho..

  • @relicbane simple weight distribution, there is a more advanced electronic version tho i forget the name but its military. the one im talking about is the same model they based the suits in the g.i. joe movie on

  • @kingk00 haha okay those suits saved the movie man.. it was pretty bad.

  • @kingk00 SARCOS exoskeleton? Yeah, that one is a "real" exoskeleton. This one looks like it basically uses a hydraulic piston and the structure to support an upright load on your back. It seems to also help you step by doing the work of your quads with that piston thing. The SARCOS on has arms and stuff and does "back work" so you can like bend over and pick up ammo cases and lift bombs up to aircraft. But it's not portable. It's attached to some lines from a machine...for now...

  • @rasmasyean There is no "real" and "fake" exoskeleton. Both the SARCOS and the HULC are powered exoskeletons. You are correct that it supports an upright load but it does so actively under battery power just like the SARCOS, the only difference is lack of arms.

  • @kingk00 Um, this thing is electronic as well. The weight distribution system kicks in if the batterry fails or runs out of juice.

  • Hell yeah... Nice!! ^_^

  • I wonder how much will take unitl the chinese copy this

  • @Empeinmortal i havent heard anything on the chinese, but the japanese have something like it.. idk if youve seen it but its called "cyberdyne HAL 5"

  • dam now we gotta start to look at production costs and unit costs.... see if they are applicable

  • how about rather than running every day for PT you implement squatting...

  • Todos los americanos están gordos, necesitan de estas herramientas para moverse.

  • @mckabort your mother is fat

  • @kyleisreallycool yes i can :D como todas las madres.

  • I want a superhuman suit to become a super criminal. I think the ability to bench press one ton, dead lift two tons, bullet proof and chemical proof would suit my needs. Everyone wants to be a superhero. I want to be a super criminal.

  • i think they have things like exo skin but it's secret like everything

  • Lockheed is licensing the technology from Berkeley Bionics

  • oh defenility im joing the marines

  • So does it play cheesy guitar music everywhere you go when you wear one of these too?

  • so if you wear this, you dont tire from running?

  • how does the hydraulics work on this thing? Is there a hydraulic pump on the back or something?

  • hopefully one day they will have iron man suits that would be cool

  • Would be cool if those go civilian some time. Would enhance heavy lifting work quite a bit. But I have to admit running 10mph and maybe more is quite thrilling.

  • Hadn't berkley bionics made almost the same in 2005?

  • how much?

  • @Sergiuss555 $10000000000000000000000000000000000000

  • @Sergiuss555 Probably costs as much as a good mountain bike. Say $2k-$3K USD. Attachments cost extra of course.

  • . I want something more custom looking. This thing looks like a prototype and makes a style statement thats says "Run forrest run!" They gotta make that will match my Cadillac, all the metal gold plated, All the straps matching my purple leather interior. Maybe it should come with a cape ?

  • How does he get stuff from his pockets? Keep the sheild and claw attachments the way they are. If i was the darpa developers, would use the exoskelaton as a chasis for ballistic plate. How did you DARPA/military intelligence nerds forget about adding the really really big gun? Put on a bigger battery too!

  • Soon we'll have SPARTANS. like in Halo. Okay roast me now

  • all i can say is how much and hen will it be at walmart

    (you know it will be)

  • My hope is that a better body armor will be designed that could be incorporated into an exoskeleton. I don't know that we'll ever be able to protect against high explosives at point blank range, or large rounds, but at least something that could mitigate damage to more than the chest region from the most common rounds. Maybe I'm dreaming.

  • Hey dude, dreams are what become reality. And if you look up buckypaper, and were to integrate it/harden it to integrate it into the design, it would easily defend against those, however it would be completely non-resistant to electricity. Therefore any electric weapons would fry you alive (since buckypaper has over twice the conductivity of copper wire).

So it's possibly, but it brings on new problems too.

  • pretty sure people used to dream that we can fly. or send information across the world instantaneously, look inside a living human's body, carry telephones the size of a harmonica around with them everywhere that can also recieve electronic mail and take pictures and play music, bombs that can take out cities, blankets with holes for arms, sham-wow, bowflex, chia-pets, etc. you get the point.. keep dreaming, they might come true.

  • @junkpast dragon skin

  • I'm fully aware of dragon skin and it's application. It doesn't address what I'm talking about. It only covers the torso. It doesn't protect limbs or the head. It also can't block very large rounds. I'm hoping for a more inclusive armor for the whole body that would cover most anything used in small arms combat.

  • Yeah you're right, still some development to go in that area.

  • I believe on their site they do mention other covers for extremities (limbs)

  • @junkpast i think they are working on it. this is the dragon skin body armor. watch?v=0kMCZlSfUW4

  • @theOldskoolPy I know about dragon skin body armor. See previous post.

  • @junkpast I don't think thats a dream, it's already possible in theory, the only real problem is a compact and light weight long lasting power source.

You would need the power of a tank engine reduced to the size of a pineapple able to last 72 hours. Then you would have walking tanks. But I think even with this design you could increase the armor protection of soldiers.I saw a vid of it carrying a SWAT ballistic shield.

  • Just like the M4 rifle which the army claims has no jamming problem and if it does jams, it is the fault of the soldiers. The HULC will assist carrying 200lb and any soldier can crawl with it and if it cannot be done, that soldier is too weak. I would love to see a video of US soldiers rushing or crawling towards Taliban shooters in this gadget, I am sure Taliban will die laughing simply watching them.

  • yeah crawling won't work way to heavy. Although laying wouldn't be to bad. So unless we get the same stuff for arms that way we can crawl I don't think this will go over to well because we use lots of crawls.

  • Imagine the enemy's face when he sees some soldier running towards him with 200 pounds on his back and he's running at 7 miles per hour! This will just be the beginning, but damn this is the shit.

  • PHA PHA pha i just realized something the crawling wouldn't work if he has a 100 kilos backpack i hope the guy using it wont try that i mean he will totally suffocate

  • Gentlemen! Look!

    THE FUTURE!

  • Well... this could be worth the buck if you can have heavy infantry operate like light infantry on guerrilla doctrine.

  • It's for the military dudes.

  • You know.. i love how this goes straight to "fat and lazy" people.

I'd love to have one and I'm neither fat or lazy. But I do have a command post tent that's 85lbs alone, plus the rest of my fun gear. No way in hell, no matter HOW "fit" I am, am I going to carry 85 lbs of command tent AND the rest of my heavier camp gear 30+ miles into the national forest! lmao

With this I'd still have my heavy gear, and still walk. No need for truck, 4wheeler, or boat to get my gear where I want it.

  • You're an idiot. This is an amazing revolutionary product. You can train all you want, but no matter how much you train your not going to be able to run for miles at 7 MPH with 200 pounds on your back. When you can do that post a video.

  • @TheRisucrate engrish

  • You have no idea how much gear our soldiers have to carry today. Further, in harsh environments like iraq, overheating is a real danger. I talked with a soldier who says many guys in Iraq aren't even wearing their armor because of the weight. A suit that could help them avoid body overheating (metabolism stays low) would really help.

  • i want to buy

  • wtf... only 6'2..? i'm 6'4 gosh darn it i want one of those :(

  • Absolutely fantastic. I can't wait for the market price to go down so I can have one too! It has phenomenal potential in construction engineering.

  • well the main issue of this research is not exoskeleton but its power supply. Ok it lifts 90kg but how long can we use the gear?

So it wont be on battle field until we get a fucking awesome source of energy

  • well i believe on the berkley bionics website, they said a 1.2 pound lithium ion battery will power it for about 21 hours with full load.

It's unlikely you'd need to run it for 21 hours before you stopped for recharging anyway.

  • That's awesome! Now even fat people can go sell their souls to the Army. Thank you Lockheed!

  • "because all americans are becoming fat"

  • I would give this device to the disabled people at the first place... fat people are not deseased so they dont need it... in fact, I dont think they would be able to fit in...

  • Why would disabled people be in the Army?

  • are you dumb?

disaled people would need exo skeletons more than the Army... it could help them like... you know... maybe WALK?

  • @Mikey234432 no cuz an exoskeleton just assists with movements, they would need an actual robotic device like i dont know artificial legs(there working on it, but who are they anyway?) so exoskeletons wont help disabled people unless they have working muscles in their legs.

  • @Mikey234432

it's a simpler problem to augment human strength than to help someone who is unable to walk entirely. the wearer of this exo is essentially the pilot and would walk and balance as they normally would while an exo for say, a paraplegic person would need to carry the wearer, balance them and propel them.

  • @tokkra I was going to come up with a clever comeback but saw you are in Iceland. I figured it would be a waste of time.

  • @tokkra Says someone from Iceland. Iceland is a peice of shit country with nothing to do and you never hear anything about it. Thats also a generalization, it would be like me saying your a dumb excemo that lives in an igloo, which you probably are.

  • @tokkra That think is acctually gonna make people fat :P

  • i didn't think 1:45 was necessary...lol leaving it behind and into enemy hands :p

plus I wouldn't take it off...seems really cool though...your basic mjolinir armour :D

  • Next thing you know, they will have "Nano muscle suits" like in the game crysis...

  • that would be so fuckin cool

  • @SNOWM4N7 EAP's existed long before crysis.

  • @SNOWM4N7 military is way too poor and primitive to ever try doing that. Notice how they aint started developing full body ES that would carry at least passive heavy armor? Or they do it secretely, which is the thing in Crysis games.

  • and to think some starving guy with a obsolete gun will still take out "cyborg GI joe"......

  • SPARTAN 001

  • United for the advancement of technology...Common man...watch out!

  • Exo Skeleton will make knight Armour lighter to wear so there will be more Lancelot running around lol

  • the future is here, it's just not widely distributed yet. -- William Gibson

  • cool technology

i wonder if this'll be standard issue

  • as a final result perhaps, but its intention is to help in carrying wounded out and retreating with heavy equipment that would otherwise be left behind to be used by enemies.

  • You missed the entire point. It's designed for heavy lifting; evacuating wounded and the like.

Last time I checked, it doesn't run on an ARC reactor and and shoot lasers out it's back.

  • Our robot masters will be pleased.

  • lol cool. Kinda pointless to just appeal to military when u can use it for other stuff but i am fairly sure if u could use it they would sell you one

  • If you look at history.

A lot of innovations in technology come from the Military. This will make it to civilians soon, don't worry.

  • It's not just military, if I'm not mistaken. Police departments and industries that require demanding physical labor are most likely getting some use out of it too. Note the whole SWAT attachment.

  • this stuff can also be used in non-military ways, which would be better

  • Don't worry. You self-righteous ignorant pukes disgust us even more.

  • ahahahah ! i actually laughed so hard at that.. =P ahahahaha Sh-dang!.. xD

  • 00:35 Run Forest Run!!!

  • LMAO I was thinking of the same reply :)

  • even a sworn athiest can be moved to prayer at the thought of lockheed martin going bankrupt.

  • lol shutup

  • hey when democracy falls and corporations like lockheed take over completely, and the president is just their pupp.... aahhh damn. Its allready to late.

  • all in all though it reminds me of a less animated, less intelligent, frankenstein monster.

  • I live in Canada btw.

  • Now I understand how the Lieutenant Dan walked again!

    -Forrest Gump

  • With more upgrades and electronic movement, in the future, this can be like the metal gear ninja exoesqueleton suit XD

  • ok, so when can we have the ironman suit?

  • 30 years probably, technology is progressing at an increasingly exponential rate. things are gonna get interesting soon, they already are

  • Comment removed

  • thats great.

  • I can finally become a supervillain

  • wow. i like it's ability to distribute most of the frontal weight of ballistic sheilds. if you increased its capacity and develoiped a high caliber ballistic sheild that was wide berth very high and wide, you could have a super defense tool in your hands. ground warfare would be forever changed.

  • only until they invent new weapons or maybe everything will switch back to like medival times and every army starts hacking each other to death again, who knows?

  • you're right. explosives technology has become too advanced. there aren't very many defenses against them. even robotic droids(which we do have - see: robodog and iraq war robots) couldn't withstand some of the explosive energies that even small ordinances carry.

  • Unless they start using cobalt bombs destroying all human lives...

  • no, cobalts haven't even been built. i'm talking moabs for smaller theatres.

  • well, cobalt bombs are not sci-fi they are very doable, a slight modification of a thermonuclear bomb... thanks god there wasn't any crazy country making them.

  • crazy countries... sorta like ours?

  • haha, maybe...

  • And, as always, how much can be done with this kind of thing depends pretty much on how small, light and powerful you can make the batteries. Or whatever you're going to power it with.

  • it uses hydraulics

  • hydraulics are for power transmission, not generation.

It's either powered exclusively by the operator's muscles, or by his muscles augmented with a battery operated device of some sort to provide additional pressure. The video isn't clear about it.

It's impressively efficient and well designed either way, but what I said remains the case: What you can do with this kind of device depends on how much power you can provide it.

Lighter, better power supplies will only improve it.

  • Brilliant. Good for Lockheed.

  • Too bad that american soldiers wont be using theese due to the economy situation.. well IF the economy revives then in couple of years it could be possible.

  • We do deficit spending on our military stuff, and our democrat leader has some of that bleeding heart liberal thing, so extra armor allowance for troops would be something he'd support... lol...

  • we are widgets

  • Instead of using it to arm the already brainwashed soldier a civilians killer, can we not use it for other humanitarian purposes?

clear evidence how the "Machines" are surrounded with well paid "dead souls", conviced to enslave and replicate HUMAN as if we were all cold blooded objects.

  • Of course it will be used by construction workers, elderly, and disabled too. This innovation can even reduce the casualties and destruction of war, even indirectly. Civilian deaths occur because of inefficient, inaccurate, and bad military planning. Devices like this reduce the inefficiencies of military and helps ensure, even if only slightly or indirectly, that things are done correctly with less failure.

  • Sometimes I wonder if OUR established military authorities forces are conceived to protect or to control by force the majority unarmed civilians(?)

This video content clearly evidence the conception of such Exoskeleton for military purpose ONLY and not civilian..it is pretty scary, in what mess we are.

"what we need is good people, not many enforcement laws..."

What I was trying to say was is "What we need is MANY GOOD people, not many enforcement personnel and laws..."

  • You know, it isn't like the government is going to just say "No, we're not going to make our soldiers stronger."

Of course we're going to take it if it's efficient enough and of course it will trickle into the civilian world eventually.

It should be designed for armor. Leg protection and chest protection would be good. Something for the arms should also be developed as the legs are improved to carry more weight.

  • damn right

  • War Profiteering, FUCK YEAH!!!

Makes the Bombs go round...the world.

  • And thus the basis for the SPARTAN program was realized... lol

  • I can see this being useful for disaster relief.

I'm sure the mounting points could be adapted for stretchers and medical supplies.

  • At about 42 second into the video, he scares a cat or something up the tree he runs next to.

  • looks like it slows u down quite a bit, and it also makes the soldier look like he's semi handicapped. I'll wait longer to see some improvements, no doubt it will improve a sufficient amount. Until then, keep on working on the concept Lockheed!!

  • perhaps you should do a little research first. Alot of our medical and civilian technology has been perfected by the military. Let them work out the kinks.

  • I think you fail to see how capitalism works: if there is money to be made (and surely there is, but how much?) then it will be done...

  • Yep gotta love capitalism!! until we can produce things out of thin air but rearranging and making new particals. them money would be obsolete although you will not need fiscal capital you will need 100% human/robotic capital. This leaves the human to reach his or her full artistic, or interesting/ productive potential. Until then Capitalism does just fine :)

  • ^.^ Glad to see someone else who understands what should be simple: demand controls supply.

And yeah, our military spends more money than we can afford so that we constantly stay on the cutting edge. Some fantastic things have come from it, but at what cost? Oh, right: trillions... =P

  • Absolutely right, in the future everyone will be so highly educated and independent the currency will be in ideas. So everyone will pretty much be their own sphere of business, whether they are supplying ideas through commerce, science, or art.

I have been considering the same ideas and I am working on a playlist called "Our Future" on my channel as a compilation of the best future oriented videos on youtube.

  • In few years they'll add armour, and TA-DAA! POWER ARMOR! This is the future baby!

  • awesome

  • I want one of those!!!

  • how much would a civilian version of that cost?

  • How long does the battery last?

  • using HULC to carry around explosive warhead in your crotch?

    No thanks.....

  • MAXIMUM STRENGH

  • win

  • Yey, a new toy to (help) kill people... awesome.

  • Comment removed

  • I wish that they finally built a real MECH like in gundam... That would be awesome

  • tht would be AwSome Dude... or ARM Slave from Full MEtal Panic.. or Y don't they jst HIRE NAruto 4 gods Sake.

  • wow anyone else reminded of halo?

  • no, halo is lame, This however is pretty sleek

  • The only thing is, I guess they're not going to retrofit it with armored plating or any sort of armor or even a cool helmet though, like in the video games and sci fi series that feature such technology. Which is too bad, because then it would be awesome.

  • Yeah really, add some leg armor, that thing looks like it can take it.

  • I've been waiting for powered exoskeletons to become a reality. I didn't think the technology was this far along yet.

  • Our tax dollars at work carrying this fat fuck to the donut shop

  • no, its so we dont have as many dead soldiers in the war ur little nerd asshole who lives in there moms basement, go fight in Iraq you would probably cry in a day

  • Are we really sending fatty fats like this guy to Iraq? Maybe that's the problem
