I dont get how dragon age 2 had better character development than dragon age origins, when you couldn't even really talk to them when you want to. In origins you can have a random talk with your party members and I really liked that and you really got to know them that way especially when you engage in their personal quests and talked to them when you went to camp, But I whatever unlike most people in the comments I respect your opinion
Dragon Age Origins is the worst game i ever played. It's so hard. the Combat is very slow. The characters are bizzare. The Darkspawns is overpowered. And worse i cant even beat the Ogre on the Tower.
And before you asked RETARD i didnt put Hard differculty i put easy and yet the Ogre kicked my Shiney metal ass.

EA has turned Bioware games to shit. I liked Mass Effect but not Mass Effect 2 and i liked Dragon Age Origins and i'm pretty sure i won't like Dragon Age 2 if it's anything like Mass Effect 2.

Well... I prefered Origins. It was more of an RPG in the most simpliest terms.
Taking away customization of armour, weapons is not a good move. And it's the same city over and over again. Repeat Designs, Everywhere. Soft looking Graphics, it's a dissapoint to those who played the first.
But.... It's still friggin amazing compared to the shit on the market today.

I am amazed at some of the negative feedback this game is getting, not fucking way its as bad as some people are still saying. This game started out good, act 2 went "alright", and then act 3 just got bogged down with bugs. Holy crap, act 3 is as buggy as goddamn fallout new vegas. Not what I expected from Bioware and we all know what they r like about fixing bugs...
@UltimateChance I got that Merrill quest bug, that 90% of people are having. And it makes it impossible to complete the romance... n the Isabela quest bug, loose ends won't complete, etc... I think several merchants also got bugged out as well. Avg Review for this game is a painful 7.8. I liked this game but at this rate I'm starting to regret the buy.
@qexec1173 The Avg. score is actually 8.2, which is a very good score. 7.8 is also a good score, but in todays standards anything below a 9 is considered "bad".
I felt like both dragon age games were really good experiences. I found DA2 to be a REALLY good side story to DAO, I'm not complaining one bit, it was well paid money. I still want to see where hawkes and the grey wardens stories go.
I am loving this game my only issue was I ran into the Wayward Son glitch and Danzig 's slain body disappeared on me...the Fucker!! so I went through again as the warrior and it was cool, working on act 2 right now and enjoying it.
out all biowares games mass effect is the one that felt more action driven than dragon age. dragon age 1 was story driven and dragon age 2 was character driven both are similar but different plus awesome.
My biggest gripe with the combat is that when he swings around a damn 2handed sword, it swings so stupidly fast and doesn't seem like it has ANY weight to it at all. Anybody else have this problem? I like a 2hand sword that feels like it will decimate my enemy, I don't want it to feel like a 1handed sword damnit.
I agree about the maps... I mean if your gonna have the first one be huge and every are be unique and look its own way, why the fuck would you recycle the hell out of 5 maps when the game is nowhere near as big as the first. God damned lazy is all I have to say about it.
Dragon age 2 is a great game. The Story of Dragon Age 2 is a little lacking, it's great when it comes to your party characters, but you never get the feeling that your actions are truly effecting the story, esspecially when your action in Dragon age 1 don't really effect your actions in Dragon Age 2. i do however enjoy having a main character thats got a personallity. Very good review, I agree with everything you pointed out. Also I pretty much was complaining about the stuff I hated until I got to Act 2 halfway and now love the game as well.
The biggest thing I gripe about is NOT being able to talk to your characters when you want. I miss the personal conversations with them like in Origins and now we get just cut scenes and maybe them saying something to you in a scene. Also wish there were more choices in designing Hawke, but nothing a good mod can't fix
I like this one better too, the only reason people don't like it is because it isn't an expansion for DAO, so fuck them. Ioved both games, but prefer this one, atleast the combat didn't put me to sleep like with the previous one.

I thought you were going to be a little harsher on the game. In my opinion DA2 was a huge step backwards. The characters were one demensional and the entire game was composed of atrocious side quests most of which take place in one city using the same maps over and over and over again fighting the same cliche enemies. And coming from the PC version of DA:O the graphics were a step backwards as well. What a waste of $60.
@Nogard119 I'm confused by this "Entire game is all side quest" actually only act 1 really had "All those side quest" and most of them were interesting. The rest of the quest in act 2-3 really pushed the character development. And I found the characters far from 1 dimensional, actually far better then Origins.
As for the maps, I do address that as a problem. Bad guys, not really. Origins had even LESS variety yet it was still fun.

@UltimateChance I don't know if you're a big fan of RPG's or not, but since you got Dragon Age 2, you should check out Two Worlds 2 for sure. Story might not be that great in TW2 lol, but the level cap is 32,767, items cap at 50, skills and damage cap at 32,767...point is? It's got much more gameplay than DA, and it's pretty close to being as good as Oblivion in quality, it was just a missed opportunity and fact is TW2 should have been TW1. They trying to correct mistakes again with TW3 in 2012
i kinda liked the armor presets for your companions. it gives them a more personalised look. unlike in dragon age where you can equip morrigan with massive armor if you choose to be arcane warrior and sten looks stupid in pretty much any armor except massive
i really liked origins, and so far dragon age 2 is really good, but i think bioware stripped down a little too much of what made origins great, such as being able to equip team members. Hopefully three will be the perfect mix of origins and 2
The thing is with this game, bioware tried to do what they did with mass effect 2, they made it simpler, and it turned out to be a GREAT gamble, but with DA, it turns out, the reason why it's so fun was because of it's complexity, but i still think its incredibly fun either way :D

PC interface:
getting hawk to attack
select hawk count to three
select another party member and count to three
then select hawk and you can then attack an opponent or use an ability.
If you then want say Isabella to attack you select her wait 3 seconds then select hawk count to 3 and then select Isabella..
DX11 mode works for about 2 min before the game crashes.

Dragon age 1 (PC) was one of the best RPG's i ever played.
Dragon age 2 (PC) is one of the worst games i attempted to played in the last few years...
the first one was 10 our of 10 for me ,.... the second one is a 4 out of 10 for me (if compared with the first one is a 2 our of 10).
Very Bad controls, generic dynasty warrior hack and slash wanna be combat bad system , bad design chooses, Horrible game overall .
Not worth buying or playing in my opinion .

Loved the game play but my friendly AI Mage running into crowds or twirling their staff(or varric humping the air with bianca) ripped me right out of loving it.Still great but replaying it on a higher setting with stupid AI makes me wanna push it aside

Solid review man, I loved the first one, but it wasnt without its issues alright. I am amazed at some of the negative feedback this game is getting, not fucking way its as bad as some people are still saying. I havent picked it up yet, but I know for sure its a good game since you and some other people are trust seem to love it.

This game started out good, act 2 went "alright", and then act 3 just got bogged down with bugs. Holy crap, act 3 is as buggy as goddamn fallout new vegas. Not what I expected from Bioware and we all know what they r like about fixing bugs...

@UltimateChance I got that Merrill quest bug, that 90% of people are having. And it makes it impossible to complete the romance... n the Isabela quest bug, loose ends won't complete, etc... I think several merchants also got bugged out as well. Avg Review for this game is a painful 7.8. I liked this game but at this rate I'm starting to regret the buy.

@qexec1173 The Avg. score is actually 8.2, which is a very good score. 7.8 is also a good score, but in todays standards anything below a 9 is considered "bad".

I felt like both dragon age games were really good experiences. I found DA2 to be a REALLY good side story to DAO, I'm not complaining one bit, it was well paid money. I still want to see where hawkes and the grey wardens stories go.

I am loving this game my only issue was I ran into the Wayward Son glitch and Danzig 's slain body disappeared on me...the Fucker!! so I went through again as the warrior and it was cool, working on act 2 right now and enjoying it.

My biggest gripe with the combat is that when he swings around a damn 2handed sword, it swings so stupidly fast and doesn't seem like it has ANY weight to it at all. Anybody else have this problem? I like a 2hand sword that feels like it will decimate my enemy, I don't want it to feel like a 1handed sword damnit.

I agree about the maps... I mean if your gonna have the first one be huge and every are be unique and look its own way, why the fuck would you recycle the hell out of 5 maps when the game is nowhere near as big as the first. God damned lazy is all I have to say about it.

Dragon age 2 is a great game. The Story of Dragon Age 2 is a little lacking, it's great when it comes to your party characters, but you never get the feeling that your actions are truly effecting the story, esspecially when your action in Dragon age 1 don't really effect your actions in Dragon Age 2. i do however enjoy having a main character thats got a personallity. I played that game on pc and tbh it didn't look very good at all, I'd even say that the first one looked a lot better, but that may not be the case with the console version. Still I do have to agree with everything else you said, this game is really good, if you like rpgs get it:)

Very good review, I agree with everything you pointed out. Also I pretty much was complaining about the stuff I hated until I got to Act 2 halfway and now love the game as well.
The biggest thing I gripe about is NOT being able to talk to your characters when you want. I miss the personal conversations with them like in Origins and now we get just cut scenes and maybe them saying something to you in a scene. Also wish there were more choices in designing Hawke, but nothing a good mod can't fix

I like this one better too, the only reason people don't like it is because it isn't an expansion for DAO, so fuck them. Ioved both games, but prefer this one, atleast the combat didn't put me to sleep like with the previous one.

DAMN, I was hoping that your MOMS would do the review! I am pleasantly surprised that you liked this game. I am more of an action adventure RPG gamer & I felt it was a smart move by Bioware to pitch the way the did (Keep fan base, even though many were pissed & expand the target audience). This is why I gave DA2 a try. I'm not to deep in the game yet & I have a SHIT LOAD to learn, but I'm stoaked that you said that it gets better! I thought you were going to be a little harsher on the game. In my opinion DA2 was a huge step backwards. The characters were one demensional and the entire game was composed of atrocious side quests most of which take place in one city using the same maps over and over and over again fighting the same cliche enemies. And coming from the PC version of DA:O the graphics were a step backwards as well. What a waste of $60.

@Nogard119 I'm confused by this "Entire game is all side quest" actually only act 1 really had "All those side quest" and most of them were interesting. The rest of the quest in act 2-3 really pushed the character development. And I found the characters far from 1 dimensional, actually far better then Origins.
As for the maps, I do address that as a problem. Bad guys, not really. Origins had even LESS variety yet it was still fun.

@UltimateChance I don't know if you're a big fan of RPG's or not, but since you got Dragon Age 2, you should check out Two Worlds 2 for sure. Story might not be that great in TW2 lol, but the level cap is 32,767, items cap at 50, skills and damage cap at 32,767...point is? It's got much more gameplay than DA, and it's pretty close to being as good as Oblivion in quality, it was just a missed opportunity and fact is TW2 should have been TW1. They trying to correct mistakes again with TW3 in 2012

i kinda liked the armor presets for your companions. it gives them a more personalised look. unlike in dragon age where you can equip morrigan with massive armor if you choose to be arcane warrior and sten looks stupid in pretty much any armor except massive

i really liked origins, and so far dragon age 2 is really good, but i think bioware stripped down a little too much of what made origins great, such as being able to equip team members. Hopefully three will be the perfect mix of origins and 2

The thing is with this game, bioware tried to do what they did with mass effect 2, they made it simpler, and it turned out to be a GREAT gamble, but with DA, it turns out, the reason why it's so fun was because of it's complexity, but i still think its incredibly fun either way :D

The map screen is a joke,They improved the looks of combat but not the actual combat.There are to many load screens every few minutes you have to leave or enter an area and another load screen.There are way to many meaningless quests that put me to sleep.The deep roads and the quanari missions are good.There is way to much political jargen in the game.Ill watch fox news if I want to watch politics.I was hoping for a much better game when I pre ordered this. Will trade it in after I beat it.
