first, this is not fake and it is "better" than the other diy proejctor with overhead and stuff becuase this is much cheaper, the only problem with this one is that you need a very bright screen, allthought it is a very good soution and funny stuff to build. sorry for my bad english!

i made something similar, but i used a fancy camera lense, it worked well (although it was backwords, i needed a miror) but my pda just wasn't bright enough, but it did work. (ipods work better becouse they are usualy brighter)

if it doesn't work, and you're not afraid of ruining the device, take off the back of the casing and add a light source, like a flash light. I'd use something brighter than that, though.

Myth busted! This does NOT work. I'm not surprised, I didn't think it would, but fun to bust it either way. I made a much better box thingy than on this movie, and tried with both a psp and a ds lite with no luck, best result was from the ds lite (max light setting) with colors shifting on the wall. However, the magnifying sheet works great, and can be used to magnify the screen sucuessfully. When i looked inside the box i made, through the magnifying sheet, I got a really cool cinema effect.

yes, its same thing a magnifying sheet is what they call it at the dollar store or something and its kind of small, its meant for reading books, but if your gonna make a projector for your tv then you have to buy one from ebay or a science magazine, there called fresnel lenses, there just like a magnifying sheet only bigger like a sheet of paper and more powerful and quality

Tested it now, and I can't for the love of humanity understand how I didn't get it to work last time, this time it worked like a charm with worse materials and quick work! Well, I can confirm that it does indeed work! However the image is mirrored, and off course it's not as sharp as a tv, although very very neat! For a second I considered making a perfect one out of wood or something, but I'm already on another project and I wouldn't really have a use for it - yet ;)

ya this weekend, im gonna build one outa wood, and what im gonna do so its not mirrored, is put the tv facing upwards twoards the celing, and then put a mirror at the top of the projector facing twoard the wall at a 45 degree angle... that should flip the image around
