I read THG series at the end of last year (2010) so clearly, I have read them all and all the fans should have read them all by now! But your reviews are giving me the STRONG urge to read the series again. My 22 year old brother suggested the series to me in the first place, and that proves it's not childish. One of my friends at the age of 12 read it and loved it, meaning it's suitable for kids depending on how mature they are. I hate this youtube space box, I could write forever lol.

I finally read the series and now I can go back and watch your videos! I waited a really long time to avoid those spoilers. And I pretty much agree with all of your assessments excepts Johanna. I quite liked her, even in just Catching Fire, but especially after Mockingjay. Despite having nothing for which to live, she still believes in a cause.

Okay, I just finished reading this book and I want to say BOTH of the books blew me away. Have yet to read Mockingjay but I plan on doing so ASAP. Suzanne Collins has a way of making each twist in the book cause me to jump from my seat and pace around my room until the initial shock runs down. There is too much to say about this book in this comment but I read both of the books straight through after I got them. Giving them to friends and forcing them to read so I can talk to somebody about them
I still feel like Catching Fire was sort of the bridge to Mockingjay. It was still okay but in trilogies the second one is never as awesome as the first and third ones.
I sort of wish Mockinjay had been the 2nd one and the rebuilding-ness could've have been the third book... (what does that make the title though... Ashes? XD)

I've read all three, and I have to say, Catching Fire was my favourite! I loved Mockingjay, but I just preferred the pacing of Catching Fire. Also, I loved all the Katniss/Peeta moments in Catching Fire :P.
I know, how could you not fall in love with Peeta?! I preferred him to Gale as well, even though Gale was really sweet. Johanna irked me! Just something about her rubbed me the wrong way.
I just finished reading "Catching Fire" and I feel like I'm going insane. Once Cinna turned her into the mockingjay at the interview session I knew that she was it, and I started sobbing. I can't believe District 12 is gone, and I just hope everyone is okay and District 13 WTF, and I need Mockingjay right now.
I like Gale. He could be a real asset in times of revolution. And, you know, he isn't a terrible person.
I love Peeta. I feel as though he could get eaten alive, but he has that kind spirit that people should make revolutions to preserve.
At first, I thought that the pregnancy reveal was really cool, but then it's like why would that piss the viewers off? I'd rather have a miscariage than have my kids be reaped.
I finished Catching Fire about half an hour ago. I started reading the series late, hoping that I could read all the books back to back, but I am in 61 place in my library's hold queue thing. Not exactly working out like I expected, but there are, like, 30 copies in my library system so I'll probably only have to wait a month for MJ.
Near the end, I decided to watch BSG to calm myself but I didn't have the problem with the theme because I only started watching so it never stuck in my head.
I like Gale but he seems sort of like...fan service xD He's just like "ohai I'm an incredibly attractive boy who has a dark side." Come on. I feel like Peeta has more of a personality and he's not just there for fangirl-ism. xD
If this Catching Fire novel is as good as Torchwood and fits having the theme stuck in your head while reading it then I SHOULD be reading it! (I reposted this comment because I accidentally spelt good as "god" and that's not right)
I loved how both of the books never do what I expected. When I came to certain parts I was like `Oh, now probably something like this is going to happen`, and Suzanne goes all 180° on me and BLOWS MY MIND TO PIECES.

First off, KATNISS HAS TO FIND PEETA. I really think they will end up together. Although I do love Gale, he should end up with Madge or something. But I hate to say this, it's possible he'll die in the third book. Second, if Gale saved Katniss' family, where are they? And no more District 12?! Lastly, I think it's really cute that Finnick is in love with a girl for his own district, not someone wealthy from the Capitol :)
I'd put my money on Peeta getting killed in mockingjay, because Katniss REALLY loves Gale, and at some point she's going to have to choose between one guy or the other and I don't see any other way it could turn out.

I think that The Hunger Games series is a good set of books and a captivating tale.However I find it is too OVERRATED.It is a nice storyline, but apart from that... what? It offers no realization to government control,no cunning art of human nature,and a love story which seems to only touch the fragile hearts of young women. Aside from this, it still is a story worthy of a read and surely is very entertaining. However I feel it is not the "mind blowing" story many others believe it to be.
The book was really really good. I had to make a THE HUNGER GAMES poster in my room and hang it up haha :) I think in Mocking Jay that there will be a full on uprising. I think that Peeta will some how talk to someone to make them think that an uprising is good. then the word will spread and a date will be set for 'the uprising' this book will be so intense!!!!!!! August 24th!!!!!!!!!!!! p.s. I have mixed feelings for Peeta and Gale.
I have no idea what's going to happen in the next book, but I believe religion will be introduced. The capitol must have sheltered them from religion, and somehow filtered it out of their lives, because 24 people wouldn't kill each other if they had something preventing them from it.
I just finished this book today. In fact, 10 minutes ago. And it was fantastic. I loved it so much. I do think that this was where they had to take the direction of the plot because there was not much left in where they were, but the way they took it there was completely everything it needed to be.
I also agree with what you said about having to collect your thoughts before making a review. Since you can only have 500 charecters in one comment i had to shorten each one drastically. Continuing from my first comment I'm sorry my comment had to be so long i had to make several of them. My favorite charecters are probably everyone in the alliance during the second games exept for Johanna. She was such a jerk and I predict that when Katniss rescues her and Peeta in the new third book (It's called "Mockingjay") she will betray her and work for the capital, but that is only my opinion and i guess it dosnt relly matter but thanks for reading.
There is litarally no word in any language that can describe how awsome this book is. I did shed a tear once or twice but it wasnt really crying just a silent tear. I agree with everything you said in this video and on a scale of 1 to 10 i would give it a 20 or above. I would recomend this book and the first one to anyone and i think Susane Collins deserves several awards for this book. She explains everything so well and it feels like I know Katniss as if she were my own sister.

...and math. okay here goes: in Hunger games, haymitch is a paunchy middle aged man, so that means hes most likely in his late 30s or 40s. he won the 50 hunger games. you are eligible to go in the reaping between th age of 12 and 18. the youngest person to win the hg was finnick odair at the age of 14. haymitch had to be between 15 and 18 yrs old. in cf it is 25 yrs later ant the 75 hg. 15+25=40 18+25=43 therefore haymitch is between the ages of 40 and 43. check it, i know im right.
OMG through out this whole bk i kept thinking about cinna too. i think that then he turned kat into a moking jay that it was foreshadowing then end. what do i mean? well the mj is a symbol for the rebels and the interview was mandatory to watch. cinna was subtly letting the rebels know the its time. but then he was found out and punished(ya know what i mean;O ) then i started to think about haymitch. what was i thinking? well i figured out his age by using textual evidence from the book and...
I am absoloutley in love With the Series, And at the end of this book I was so Angry, yet sad. Lemme just say this, If They do not Save Peeta I will close the third book and not read it at all (Which Im sure they will save Peeta) (They better >:/ )

I read the Hunger Games in 3 days and had to read Catching Fire, I just finished Catching Fire. Both books are great! I just ordered from Amazon the 3rd book, its release date is Aug 24th!
what kept me thinking was all of the different districts being given jobs not one the same . While the people in the capital live for material things while there is starving people in the districts !!

I got a copy of The Hunger Games and Catching Fire for Christmas,but I stareted reading them in Agust when I read a rewiew online.I knew I had to read it and all the stupid booksores in Norway only have norwagian copies so I bought one and loved it,a week later I was done with both of them.
i, unintentionally, did watch Torchwood around the same time as reading them. i missed that side effect though. it was so so amazing. i like how the title really relates to the story. the fire motif is really cool as well. im kind of wanting to read this book in an English class setting, not for the deadlines and tests, but so i could discuss the finer points of it while still being able to fangirl out
Literally, I JUST finished reading Catching Fire and the first thing I do is watch your video. The plot took so long to begin, and I could predict that the victors would return to the games, but ohmygoodness after that point the book was BRILLIANT.
The end was such a cliffhanger. Katniss and Haymitch and Peeta made my heart cry. It reminded me of Dumbledore and Harry at the end of OotP.

I just finished both The Hunger Games and Catching Fire back to back and I'm in love. This is my favourite book series since Harry Potter. I thought the Victors going back to the Hunger Games was an amazing twist (though somehow almost sadder than when the children are put into it) and the Peeta/Katniss/Gale love triangle constantly breaks my heart. from what i read about the capital i think that peeta will be used as something to bargin with :( like if gale is leader of the rebellion than the capitol will make katniss choose between gale and peeta that would bring soooo much drama! :O
lol i had unstoppable by E.S. Posthemus and Jelly by Blessed Union of Souls stuck in my head during the chapters during the quarter quell. It was dreadfull but kool at the same time :P
I loved the book but the only end that would piss me is if they beat the capital and very loosely say something like "I know as he holds me I made the right choice" and then it would end with out saying who that person is! hopefully she picks Peeta but I want Gale to have his moment. Like he becomes the major person in the war and like dies while killing President Snow. Some thing epic and for once I want to see Katniss happy like god damn. Sure We saw her cry in these one but be happy!

I read THG series at the end of last year (2010) so clearly, I have read them all and all the fans should have read them all by now! But your reviews are giving me the STRONG urge to read the series again. My 22 year old brother suggested the series to me in the first place, and that proves it's not childish. One of my friends at the age of 12 read it and loved it, meaning it's suitable for kids depending on how mature they are. I hate this youtube space box, I could write forever lol.

I quite liked her, even in just Catching Fire, but especially after Mockingjay. Despite having nothing for which to live, she still believes in a cause.

I feel the exact same way about peeta. I absoulutly love him. And nothing will EVER change my mind. i balled my eyes out when peeta gave katniss the lock with her mothers prims and gales pictures in it and the pearl. Okay, I just finished reading this book and I want to say BOTH of the books blew me away. Have yet to read Mockingjay but I plan on doing so ASAP. Suzanne Collins has a way of making each twist in the book cause me to jump from my seat and pace around my room until the initial shock runs down. There is too much to say about this book in this comment but I read both of the books straight through after I got them. Giving them to friends and forcing them to read so I can talk to somebody about them

I still feel like Catching Fire was sort of the bridge to Mockingjay. It was still okay but in trilogies the second one is never as awesome as the first and third ones.
I sort of wish Mockinjay had been the 2nd one and the rebuilding-ness could've have been the third book... (what does that make the title though... Ashes? XD)

I've read all three, and I have to say, Catching Fire was my favourite! I loved Mockingjay, but I just preferred the pacing of Catching Fire. Also, I loved all the Katniss/Peeta moments in Catching Fire :P.
I know, how could you not fall in love with Peeta?! I preferred him to Gale as well, even though Gale was really sweet. Johanna irked me! Just something about her rubbed me the wrong way.

I just finished reading "Catching Fire" and I feel like I'm going insane. Once Cinna turned her into the mockingjay at the interview session I knew that she was it, and I started sobbing. I can't believe District 12 is gone, and I just hope everyone is okay and District 13 WTF, and I need Mockingjay right now.

I like Gale. He could be a real asset in times of revolution. And, you know, he isn't a terrible person.
I love Peeta. I feel as though he could get eaten alive, but he has that kind spirit that people should make revolutions to preserve.
At first, I thought that the pregnancy reveal was really cool, but then it's like why would that piss the viewers off? I'd rather have a miscariage than have my kids be reaped.

I finished Catching Fire about half an hour ago. I started reading the series late, hoping that I could read all the books back to back, but I am in 61 place in my library's hold queue thing. Not exactly working out like I expected, but there are, like, 30 copies in my library system so I'll probably only have to wait a month for MJ.
Near the end, I decided to watch BSG to calm myself but I didn't have the problem with the theme because I only started watching so it never stuck in my head.

First off, KATNISS HAS TO FIND PEETA. I really think they will end up together. Although I do love Gale, he should end up with Madge or something. But I hate to say this, it's possible he'll die in the third book. Second, if Gale saved Katniss' family, where are they? And no more District 12?! Lastly, I think it's really cute that Finnick is in love with a girl for his own district, not someone wealthy from the Capitol :)

I think that The Hunger Games series is a good set of books and a captivating tale.However I find it is too OVERRATED.It is a nice storyline, but apart from that... what? It offers no realization to government control,no cunning art of human nature,and a love story which seems to only touch the fragile hearts of young women. Aside from this, it still is a story worthy of a read and surely is very entertaining. However I feel it is not the "mind blowing" story many others believe it to be.

The book was really really good. I had to make a THE HUNGER GAMES poster in my room and hang it up haha :) I think in Mocking Jay that there will be a full on uprising. I think that Peeta will some how talk to someone to make them think that an uprising is good. then the word will spread and a date will be set for 'the uprising' this book will be so intense!!!!!!! I have no idea what's going to happen in the next book, but I believe religion will be introduced. The capitol must have sheltered them from religion, and somehow filtered it out of their lives, because 24 people wouldn't kill each other if they had something preventing them from it.

I just finished this book today. In fact, 10 minutes ago. And it was fantastic. I loved it so much. I do think that this was where they had to take the direction of the plot because there was not much left in where they were, but the way they took it there was completely everything it needed to be.

My favorite charecters are probably everyone in the alliance during the second games exept for Johanna. She was such a jerk and I predict that when Katniss rescues her and Peeta in the new third book (It's called "Mockingjay") she will betray her and work for the capital, but that is only my opinion and i guess it dosnt relly matter but thanks for reading.

There is litarally no word in any language that can describe how awsome this book is. I did shed a tear once or twice but it wasnt really crying just a silent tear. I agree with everything you said in this video and on a scale of 1 to 10 i would give it a 20 or above. I would recomend this book and the first one to anyone and i think Susane Collins deserves several awards for this book. She explains everything so well and it feels like I know Katniss as if she were my own sister.

Literally, I JUST finished reading Catching Fire and the first thing I do is watch your video. The plot took so long to begin, and I could predict that the victors would return to the games, but ohmygoodness after that point the book was BRILLIANT.
The end was such a cliffhanger. Katniss and Haymitch and Peeta made my heart cry. It reminded me of Dumbledore and Harry at the end of OotP.
It was the book in forever that I read nonstop and it boy did that feel good. I CANNOT wait for the 3rd book!

omg...i would have never picked up the Hunger Games if my teacher didn't assign it to the whole class. I finished the Hunger Games and now I am almost done Catching Fire. Let me tell you, I'm usually into like Gossip Girl and Pretty Little Liars (which by all means are awesome books) this book still kept me reading until midnight. I just finished both The Hunger Games and Catching Fire back to back and I'm in love. This is my favourite book series since Harry Potter. I thought the Victors going back to the Hunger Games was an amazing twist (though somehow almost sadder than when the children are put into it) and the Peeta/Katniss/Gale love triangle constantly breaks my heart. I didn't like how everything was explained at the end of Catching Fire, it seemed a little rushed, but other than that, these books are perfection

I just finished the book and first thing i did is watched this video!
gale was my favorute until this book...idk why...but I love peeta more now!! I cried this morning while reading the end of the second part when they beat up cinna... when I read the interviews part ...i was completely blown away by the dress and all ...I never read the plot of this book before i read it...in new absolutely nothing about it ....so i was shocked on every new page!!! I love it!!!

It is coming out September 2010.
The movie is coming out sometime in 2011

God, Katniss NEEDS to choose Peeta. He's so sweet and so amazing-exactly what I would want in a guy. I used to be a Gale/Katniss fan while I was reading the first book, but that has changed. The whole district 13 idea is brilliant! Can not wait for the third book and the movie!!!
This is wonderful motivation to work on a time machine....:)

from what i read about the capital i think that peeta will be used as something to bargin with :( like if gale is leader of the rebellion than the capitol will make katniss choose between gale and peeta that would bring soooo much drama! :O
lol i had unstoppable by E.S. Posthemus and Jelly by Blessed Union of Souls stuck in my head during the chapters during the quarter quell. It was dreadfull but kool at the same time :P

I loved the book but the only end that would piss me is if they beat the capital and very loosely say something like "I know as he holds me I made the right choice" and then it would end with out saying who that person is! hopefully she picks Peeta but I want Gale to have his moment. Like he becomes the major person in the war and like dies while killing President Snow. Some thing epic and for once I want to see Katniss happy like god damn. Sure We saw her cry in these one but be happy!

I just finished the book just 20 minutes ago! Amazing thats all I have to say. Though my jaw dropped when it said there is no District 12!
And my choice is Peeta he is just soo sweet. Gale, meh idk lol.
I also cried my eyes out at Rue's death so sad! Cannot wait for the 3rd book!

I just finished Catching fire about an hour ago... God it was so amazing.. And yes I know how you feel Kayley I love Peeta so much.. I spent the whole book just worrying about him. How could you not fall in love w/ him? I'm just praying he'll live through the next book. And don't even get me started on Torchwood's theme I watched pretty much the complete series so far in a marathon(just like DW) and I know what u mean. I just wish I could read the next book. Peeta pwns Edward had to say it lol

i just finished the book and it was completely amazing!!!! the cliffhangers kill a tiny part of me, but when the next book comes out it'll come back :P i suck at theorizing but i think the rebellion thing is going to be EPIC.

I JUST finished Catching Fire. Let me just say that this is, honestly, one of the best books I've even read. It was fantastic and had me madly flipping the papers for more. And, oh my god! District 13! I had no idea it was going to end this way! So many surprises. And, tell me when you get a time machine so we can both go get Book Three.

I think that the American covers for this book are SO much better than the English ones. Not fair.
And OMG. I NEED the third book. I can not wait for a year!! And then another year for the movie!! AAAHHHGGHH! I fear for my sanity.
