  • Inspiration thank you

  • Where can I buy the music track

  • Such a inspirational video, Thanks Zack! Anyone know the name of the track at the 5:02 mark?

  • Wow Zack. Thank you for that. And your wife's music doesn't suck!

  • Inspiration, pure and simple

  • love it perfect thank you

  • thank you that was beuatiful...

  • Took me a damn long time to finally watch this. Loved it.

  • Thank You.

  • I'm certain there isn't much to say that hasn't already been said Zack. This piece has made the world more beautiful. Please know that I often watch this as piece of inspiration & reminder of humility. I greatly admire your work and your message. -mM

  • i dont normally comment on vids but this one is moving and id like to thanks for uploading i have subscribed to your vids top job

  • humm, the idea of rushing...that's what i do best....that's what i've been trained to do and living in nyc....well, that's all one know how to do! thanks....just watched this video at a perfect moment in time...reminded me of things i had much forgotten. thanks for putting us all in this creative space which i have to say, is very inspiring and the music is fab!

  • Me watching this video today could not have been more appropriately timed. I just posted something last night about being intimidated about sharing my photos on G+ because so many amazing photographers have followed me on there. This video really hit home. Thank you for the encouragement through your words and images in this video.

  • Finally, I can feel a little better about myself.....and how I suck so much.

  • The awesomeness is strong in this...

  • This is epic!!! 3 dislikes? you three need serious help.

  • Love your Listener hoodie there at the beginning! Dan Smith is the man.

  • cool. you gave me motion sickness though with that jerky video ya bastard lol.

nar, seriously good message... im the same age, in exactly the same position as you

if you are ever in australia we are going for coffee and a shit talking session...

  • Thank-you! This was very encouraging!

  • Zack..I'm just sitting here staring at my screen. The moving subjects that you just talked about really did hit home. Your words simple but powerful. After giving up a major sports contract earlier this year (a personal decision for my wife and family) that now has my head spinning about which direction my photography needs to go or back into!

The segment on your father and the words that were expressed in that segment..so very true! The times I get with my wife and kids are motivation for me.

  • Did you just compare Cowart and Jarvis to Mark, Avedon and Adams? These guys suck right now (and really badly) and will always suck! Just because they're internet celebs doesn't mean they are any good.

  • Thanks, it's a nice piece of advice. I can share mine - keep a good daily schedule to succeed in life and take good care of yourself!!! Getting up early (as simple as it seems) solves a lot of problems.

  • This is an incredibly beautiful video. Thank you.

  • This is deep, and it's all true, when we make the time to think about it. Thank you for sharing this wisdom.

  • Watching this really encouraged me..Thank you!

  • If anything ever becomes of me and my photography, it will be all because I saw this video that urged me to keep going. Thank you Zach!

  • Just saw this video for the first time... it almost made me cry. Thank you.

  • thought about quitting the past couple of weeks. started getting rid of my equipment and then i remembered this. I'm nowhere near where you are right now but i draw inspiration from this every time man. thank you.

  • Damn man, in my ADD rampage through the internet today, this video stopped me in my tracks. I don't think I have ever herd anything more raw, real and truthful about what photography means to someone who cares.

  • This is so true, both with photography and music, I just realized some weeks ago that all my photos sucked. I deleted them all.

  • Keep returning to this excellent video. Still, after all the times i saw it, it's inspirational - get me back on track and into motion.

    Thanks!

  • Wow

  • Just what i need to see and hear, thankyou!

  • I say the rent is to damn high!

  • I'm just a kid taking a photography class, but I've been in that class for three years, moving up a level each time. Last year I questioned myself towards the middle. This year I'm questioning myself at the beginning. The first time I watched this video I wanted to cry, lame I know, but it's something I can relate to. I appreciate this video very much, and for all the artists out there, thank you for providing your wonderful creativity, we can find our strengths in each other.

  • Wow zack. Simply brilliant!! Very brave to be that frank and honest. If this isn't art I dont know what art is. Your film made me think and feel. If you never do anything else you have touched many people with this. Well done. Thank you.

  • Thank you....So much. This almost brought me to tears because I know how much we as photographers struggle. Thank you for tearing down the glamorous facade we sometimes hide behind. This is truly inspiring.

  • Zack,

I watch this often, to maintain perspective.

I needed it hardcore again today. I just wanted to say thank you again. You're an inspiration.

  • Amazing video! I'm really into time lapse at the moment.

  • this movie calmed me down after all the rushes to be a great photographer... you really did a great job to my life !

  • thank you zack thank you!!!

  • This is real art.. Real art is sharing yourself with others. Being able to reflect off of someones work and seeing yourself. THANKS

  • Brilliant

  • Really got me thinking.

    Thanx Zack!

  • Great words Zack. Your father and family must be proud of you. This was a great video. Keep the good work man.

  • Thanks for the insights.

  • Thank you Sir Zack, you have given me wisdom.

I rush to become a great Photographer but in the event it's really a maturing scenario in my life. Patience is a virtue.

  • I watch in video often. So much in this that is worth to keep my self reminded about. It's a superb lecture to me.

Thanks for making this Zack and Meghan. Love the music too.

  • Thanks for the film. Setting up as a photographer as the job market is currently so crap & I cant stand benefits!

This puts so much perspective on things. I know I am doing what I love, yes there is little to no money in it so far, but I am good at what I do (maybe not great... yet).

I'm in a great position where money isn't so much an issue cause of other means so I can knuckle down and focus on living that dream.

No regrets, dark days pass & light always finds a way through...

  • Thanks Scott

    Great film and motivational

  • I am not a picture maker, but I want to become one now. Great video.

  • Thank you.

  • wow ! hits lots of buttons. many thanks

  • Love this video.. I watch it almost everyday just remind myself my photography will take time, I've rushed so many things in my life and its all gone wrong, I love my photography and I dont want it to go the same way as everything else thats meant anything to me in my life. This video should be shown to all photographers just starting out. Awesome video from an awesome photographer. Thanks Zack.

  • Thanks so much. Puts it all into perspective, doesn't it?

  • Well done Zack, I think you speak for all of us!

  • I've had many times where I was just gonna walk away from my camera...

    Thank you for this film.

  • winter kicks in again...

i wonder if hibernation helps to prevent total blackout.

you just described me, my fahter died a few months ago, always wondering, telling me he was not good enough, not much of an artist... he painted, but never was happy with his work, I photograph and am never happy with my work

I drown myself in my work and use it as an excuse not to excel and shine...

Afraid to fail, more afraid of success.

    Thanks for the mirror

    Bless

  • thank you

  • I needed this so badly right now. I've been stuck in bed more or less for 3 years, sick. I was doubting whether I could start over. Thank you.

  • This was amazing, really impressed. The cinematography, narration, everything kicked ass

  • Hey man, thanks for this. Really appreciate it.

  • Thank you.

  • When did you get into my brain? I didn't see you in there!!! I was too busy looking at myself. Muchos Gracias!

  • CHOICE!

  • This is a great video.

I just started really getting into photography. This video is definitely getting passed around.

  • Just hope this video hits the 1,000,000,000,000.00 Zack Arias is a very inspirational persons. Hes like the professor you hate because he thinks he knows but you respect because you wanted to be at its level. Great video

  • Awesome video Zak, an insight into the dark and frustrating world of the atists tortured mind and the fruit it bares....We can all relate. Love your work mate, keep shooting those outstanding images which give relative noobs like me true inspiration.and the drive to keep going.

    Have a blessed day.

  • WOW Thanks

  • cure cancer?

I hope someone is working on getting that "Richard Avedon button" implemented soon...!

  • Lots to say, but I´ll spare that thought simply to say yes.

Thanks, I appreciate every nice little existentialist kick in the balls I can get

  • I relate to this on so many levels.

  • Amazingly touching and inspiring film that speaks to, I imagine, any and all creatives. As a designer, I have felt those same emotions you talk about in the beginning, and the last few minutes were extremely helpful. Thanks!

  • Thank you so much for making this. It really spoke to me, I experience the same thing every winter. This is all so true and inspiring.

  • cool vid and all, but what happened to the topics you said you were going to talk about in the beginning??

  • The original topics at the beginning illustrate his frustration with going through and tossing out ideas for what to do with his guest blog entry. He gives up and does a thorough self-analysis we can all learn from instead.

I'm only an occasional amateur photographer, but I found your video extremely inspirational and posted it to my facebook for my friends to enjoy. Hope you have a good one man, your photography is great and I'm sure I'm not the only one you've helped by making this.

  • Thank you.

  • beautiful and outstanding!!

Keep up the great work Zack.

I truly hope your Dad recovers very soon!!

    Take care,

    Hatch

  • The day you stop trying to learn and trying to better yourself is the day you put the camera down.
