The oldest dishwashes ran the hot water till it was hot automatically (preset amount of time). Saves you a fair amount of work. Most dishwashers just use piping cold water and heat it themselves though
Nice try, I do think you should know, that your dishwasher is not quiet. It's low frequent, but the low frequencies are intense. Meaning that it's too damn loud to me xD
We have an LG dishwasher. It ws very quiet too at the beginning, but what a piece of crap it proved to be. It costed us close to 1000$ but in 4 years it had to be repaired 4 or 5 times. It already costed us close to 300$ in repairs, and need more. Not only it doesn't wash well, parts keep breaking, and now it's leaking about a liter of water on the floor for every wash. And forget about LG service. Oh and I have an LG fridge that is no better.
I can hear everthing this dishwasher does. My Amana D/W is quieter than your Asko and 1/3 the price..Amana parts and service is less expensive also..Just my opinion..
Thanks for posting, where do you buy Asko? Even though people think it's silly to make a video of a d/w, it's very helpful. We have a two month old Maytag we are already looking to replace (after only 2 months!) because it runs FOREVER, even on the short cyle. And I mean forever, like over two hours. We always run the tap water like you do so the machine has hot water. I am currently trying to get my money back from the store, and buy a machine that cleans in 1/3 the time.
Most all new energy efficient dishwashers take a very long time to complete (2 hours is common). This is because the use of less water requires a much longer run time. Asko, like Bosch and others, is no exception.
Thanks man! Our energy bill is huge so I wonder why new machines run so long. I don't buy that they're really energy efficient, especially when my old (dial type) dishwasher cleaned in a little over an hour. Our new Maytag on the "autoclean" cycle takes over 4 hours! I'm not buying the energy efficient thing. I know, I know it's not your fault, just venting when I think a new appliance should be better than the ones from 20 years ago,
ohhhhhhhhh fantastic I HATE dish washing and my man never does pots how well does it work on the pots? taking into considderation that they have been partially scrubbed?
OMG this is SO cool. i'm going to have to invest in one, because there are few joys in life more fulfilling than a quiet kitchen. my kitchen is dreadfully, clamorously loud! :(
The comments on this dishwasher and the number of views are incredible. Oh, I know it's not zillions like some skateboarding cat but ... I post videos of high altitude balloon stuff too and I always thought that would be the most watched stuff in my account. But, I'm thinking folks in the market for a dishwasher stop by this video and take a peek.
Recently some friends of mine got an LG dishwasher. It is equally quiet, has a light inside (LED)...very impressive. I'll have to get them to post.
It heats its own water for sure. I just figure that since the hot water heater is in the basement 10' below the dishwasher, I'd pull some hot water to get things started. That way the dishwasher heater pulls the fewest amps to heat the water to the final dishwashing temp (160° I believe).
Its always better to heat the water first by running water.....that way you get 120-130 degree water instantly instead of waiting 5 minutes for the dishwasher to try to heat the water.....the heater in the dishwasher is intended to mainly BOOST the water temperature, not to heat cold water.
Richard: The dishwasher will run quietest when it is full. The soap should be of soft type only. To run hot water first is unnecessary (and a waste). The Asko dishwasher is argueably the finest dishwasher on the market, its manufacturing history is legend. I love 'em too. What dishwasher in this catagory runs at less than 44 decibels, folks?
We used to have an Asko, absolutely fabulous machine. It was so quiet, I was constantly bending down to make sure it was on, and man could it clean the dishes!!!
I couldn't agree more, it is kinda funny. I was always shout to my friends over the din of their dishwasher how quiet mine was. Finally just had to make a video.
Somehow, I'm thinking this won't find its way into any presidential debates or most watched categories.
Lol ty, im running the house for a short period of time, and couldn't figure out how to start the dishwasher ;D

Asko heats the water to a specified temp, depending on program selected. Also, you should use a bit more soap.

You know the machine probably has a self heating supply. You don't need to run the tap first.

the issue about noicy machines is relevant. Machines should to be silent.
if your vacuum cleaner was silent you could enjoy some nice music or listen the birds, intead of standing in a hell of noice. yeaa thats right ;)
birgersl 4 years ago
that sounds about average for most modern dishwashers
dantheman1986 4 years ago
