Your text above is not quite right. Lady Jane was proclaimed Queen after Edward VI' death in 1553, because she was a great-granddaughter of Henry VII.
She was actually fourth in line after Edward: his two sisters, Mary and Elizabeth were first and second (Protestants opposed Mary while doubting the validity of Elizabeth's birth), and Jane's mother Frances was third (she was the daughter of Henry VIII's sister). Frances relinquished her place in the succession in favor of Jane after Mary and Elizabeth were disinherited by Edward.
Whatever place in history she took, Jane was an adolescent girl who was butchered for the sake of power. RIP Jane.
