  • The definitive rendition.......

  • just a buncha country boys... with the best harmony in town!

  • I fucking adore this song.

  • @Mickie11850 ditto here, bro!

  • I have heard several versions of this song. I admit that I have not yet heard every version ever made. But I can say, without a doubt, that THIS version is definitely, absolutely the one that I love best so far! ;-) Thank you very much for sharing it with us, RICOCHETVIDEOS! :-)

  • this song is like drugs... it's addicting.

  • Amazing rendition. But remember, the Eagles version was recorded live...

  • This is great but I think it would be a good idea to make it more clear who the band is. They deserve the recognition!

    Thank you!

  • @johnvernon07 Haha. The band is Ricochet, note the user that posted the video.

  • holy shit. this is the first cover for this song i've ever heard that was good. this is excellent. i'm extremely impressed. the harmony and all is excellent. however, still isnt the original, but it's the next best thing!

  • the Eagles version will always be my favorite of the song but this one is real close if there ever is a 2nd tribute album to the eagles then ricochet has to be allowed to do this song.

  • hehe, I didn't even know the Eagles did this song, how wonderfully redneck of me.

  • Well, well, well, lookie here now everybody. Appears to me that the Eagles have some serious competition on this one! Bravo! Very well done!

  • Harmonizing better than the Eagles. However, at 1:38 - the lead singer, who has a great voice, can't hang with the soul of the original. Excellent work though.

  • I like it better than the Eagles too!

  • I have spent so much of my life on and around around seven bridges road it is like a soundtrack for my life. A beautiful rendition, love the harmonies.

  • @dallascowboy80 it's a band called ricochet

  • Who is this?

  • OMG i love this song. Vocals and guitar are a little different. is this still the eagles?

  • Wouldn't it be cool if you were cruising down the road and happened to come up on these guys singing this in the middle of the road I don't know about you but I would jump out of my ride and just start singing with them

  • Wait...vocal talent...harmony...this can't be the Internet...

  • Dayyum, that guy has a loooow voice.

  • Amazing harmony. one o fmy favorite songes ever. so wish i could sing like that.

  • HA. I thought I would hate this song because I thought "ugh, country!" But damn, do I love it.

  • wow

  • EXCELLENT!! Damn...

  • @1warchant have been listening to the Eagles since the early 1970's and this amazing! EXCELLENT!! Damn... is right!!!

  • Amazing.

  • the funny thing is that the Eagles are not considered country music, but as this song suggests, they are more country than most of the artists today.

  • One of the greatest songs ever by harmony!

  • There are stars in the southern sky Southward as you go There is moonlight and moss in the trees Down the Seven Bridges Road Now I have loved you like a baby Like some lonesome child And I have loved you in eighteen ways And I have loved you wild Sometimes, there's a part of me Has to turn from here and go Running like a child from these warm stars Down the Seven Bridges Road (Beginning) And if ever you decide you should go There is a taste of time sweet in honey Down the Seven Bridges Road

  • @joshuabrooks21 I have loved you in a TAME way, and I have loved you wild!

  • @4EVRBAMA I've heard it said "Tame," and I've heard it said "Eighteen," I wish people would make up their minds! Thanks for the message though....

  • @joshuabrooks21 it's tame

  • @stumpDD978 Okay, thanks. Are the rest of the words correct?

  • better than the original, for real, listen to those voices

  • I live about 15 minutes away from this place. It's called Woodley Road. On the ghetto side of town.

  • Their former steel guitar player, Teddy Carr, is my neighbor so he turned me on to Ricochet. Cool guy and has shown me tons of Ricochet videos and behind the scenes Adventures.

  • Absolutley awesome!

  • this brings my back to my days in South Carolina.

  • To bad The Eagles never did a studio version. This is how I always thought it would sound. WELL DONE!!!

  • The Eagles....Tear to my eye...Amen.

I saw combat in Iraq. I can think of nothing that makes me feel at home more than this......

  • steve young wrote this song i dont no who for but

  • Amazing! Must hear it on 480p. 380p doesn't do this song justice.

  • @Brontobyte where is the 480p got a link?

  • @Distilled13 I'm not sure, lol I could've sworn I listened to it in 380p and I couldn't distinguish the bass vocals, then I switched and I could hear it clearly, but I don't know. Maybe it was the wrong video or something.

  • WOW ! I NEVER DREAMED I WOULD HEAR IT BETTER THAN THE EAGLES !!! Well Done gentlemen !

  • Ricochet was a FANTASTIC group and it's a shame they aren't together anymore.

  • @katiegirl1980 Actually, they are still together. They still tour. They just swapped out some members, but Heath Wright and Greg Cook are still part of the band.

  • good job guys, you've earned yourself a subscriber and a favorite!

  • You guys got it!!!

    You topped the EAGLES!

My friends, that is not easy!

  • Fantastic I love their music.....

  • 5***** favorite

    thanks for posting!!!

  • Steve Young said that he wrote this song about Woodley Road in Montgomery, Alabama. Woodley Road has been called Seven Bridges Road for about 150 years.

    I've been there many times.

  • crosby stills nash and young do it better

  • Best cover of this song ever. Everything is timed right and it sounds sooo close to the original. Truly great.

  • Outstanding!

  • the melody...their voices...simply stunning...and beautiful

  • Who is this?! They are FANTASTIC!!!

  • These guys are so perfect in pitch,I don't know what to say. They are way better then the Eagles but they are lacking something.Hmmmmm? I wonder what it is ? ............................OH ! I know ! They are lacking the fat head EGO's Don Henley, and Glenn Frey have.Eagles are my favorite band, and Kansas not too far behind. However,I cringe to think I'm supporting a band that fired a great, decent man just so they could fill their pockets with more money.Ticket cost are outragous !

  • @demmylowther ...here here!

...and I think the same about the price of tickets as well!

...I think it's despicable and altogether totally unnecessary.

  • Wow. Lovely harmonies. This is my favorite song from the Eagles. LOVING this rendition. Thanks.

  • love this

  • Love this!! ; )

  • singing this in my band! :) It's AWESOME!

  • IN MY OPINION.... better version than the EAGLES. just an opinion.

  • they filmed on the wrong bridge too! Seven bridges road is in Iowa my father grew up there! My grandparents tell me stories about it all the time and I looked it up even! Its a great cover but they got the wrong 7 seven bridges.

  • @rockerbaby2010

I don't think the "stars in the southern sky" the song refers to is in Iowa. There's another Seven Bridges Road (not official name) in Alabama

  • @rockerbaby2010 yah last time i checked Iowa isn't a southern state.....and do you guys have moss growing in your trees? I know being a southerner it's common here. but at least it's great music right? who really cares where it's talking about?

  • the band is called Ricochet

  • Fabulous!

  • i remember this song!!1 miss this song

  • Gosh...I used to love the Eagles singing this song until I heard these guys! HOLY CRAP....By far my favorite cover of this genuine song!

  • @ParamedicBrad ...O, I agree! These guys blow everyone else completely out of the water in this cut!

  • @ParamedicBrad... the Eagles covered the song from Bill Monroe, it was originally recorded like 50 years ago...

  • @ParamedicBrad You ought to hear the guy who wrote it. His name is Steve Young. You won't hear these harmonies because he is solo, but his voice is AMAZING!

The harmonies are compliments of the Eagles since they were the first to popularize this song and their take on it.

  • Who is this???? i like this cover.

  • @dlane0308 this is crosby stills nash & young

  • The bands name is "Ricochet".

  • DAYUM The BEST cover of this song I've ever heard....the only one that could actually be better than the live original. Obviously some studio production work that's not on the live verson by The Eagles, but the vocals are tremendous. As many have noted, the bassline is awesome, but especially so as they bring the chord down at the end of the song. Thank you so much for posting! Favorited.

  • The only problem is...I have to keep playing it over and over again...I just can't get enough of al lthis beautiful harmony.

  • I personally love these guys....they are having such a great time...brings back so many memories of such times wtih other musicians in my life. Would love to hear more from them.

  • Hey, be nice. And this is NOT the Eagles, it's another cover - just look at the band! That AIN'T the Eagles. (And it's not CCN&Y either).

  • Not only are there seven bridges on the road they sing about, there are also seven roads that have seven bridges because of the seven creeks that run perpendicular to those roads in that area in Alabama. Fact. In Tuscaloosa County or Fayette County. Love it down there. Roll Tide!

  • Listen to the guy singing bass, He is knocking the dogshit out that song, I only can dream of being that creative and on point!

    Supurb!!

  • Love this song. have loved this song. One of the best. It's like a fine wine that ripens with age.... Lynard Skynard.... THE ROCK WILL NEVER DIE. :P

  • Makes a city boy want to turn "Country!" I LOVE this song and this is by far the BEST version on the planet!

  • I'm a city boy but DAMMMM, I do love this song!!

  • Damn.. boys can sing.

Reminds me of going to my papaws farm, even though he's down in Grand Bay.

  • Hey ReggiesReply - Don't listen to FuzzyPig. He's one of those types that is real critical on other folks. The sad truth of it all is, he probably can't wipe his own hind-end with either hand!...lol. This is by far THE BEST Seven Bridges Road piece on Youtube!!

  • well crimson reggie....., stevey Y didnt get it famous or we wouldnt be talking about it without the Eagles..if you havce heard a better version with 4 part harmony...;et me know...lol

  • you guys are amazing! I wish I could give you guy more than 5 stars!!!!

    6/5 star!!!!!!!

  • Very best from eagles....Love the harmony and thoughts of the past when life was great!!!!! ( life isn't bad now ) lol

  • Well, I'm from Florida and went to high school during the seventies. I heard the Eagles do this and it always evoked such intense emotion in me, especially on warm summer nights when the breeze was slight and friends were close. The nights were beautiful and life was good.

  • i usualy don't like songs like this, but i love this song

  • that is so pretty

  • People like this song because it has amazing harmonies and gives one an "eargasm" they could be singing a Kmart ad with harmonies like that.

  • Steve Young remembers "Seven Bridges Road": 7 Bridges Road was real. It is still real but I don't think it exists in the same way as I remember it...

I lived in Montgomery , Alabama in the early 60's and had a group of friends there that showed me the road. It led out of town and after you had crossed 7 Bridges you found yourself out in the country on a dirt road. Spanish Moss hung in the trees and there were old farms with old fences and graveyards and churches and streams.

  • Woodley Road is the official name. A few years ago two of the brigdes were replaced with one big bridge, so there are only six now.

  • A high bank dirt road with trees. It seemed like a Disney Fantasy at times. People went there to park or get stoned or just to get away from it all. I thought my friends had made up the name "7 Bridges Road" . I found out later that it had been called by that name for over a 100 years. That people had been struck by the beauty of the road for a long time, however , this is not the official name of the road. It is a "folk name".

  • I never dreamed that anyone would understand or like this song. I played it for the first time one night in Montgomery and it got a big reaction. I was very surprised and thought it just because it was a local known thing and that was why they liked it.

It is really not a commercial song. I still don't understand why people

    like it so much.

  • In 1968 I was recording an album for A&M records. The producer wanted me to interpret songs. He didn't really want me to do any originals but we ran out of songs and I started singing 7 Bridges.

We had been recording live with a trio. Me and James Burton and a bass player. Burton said " This one's ready we can do this one." The song sounded good and so the producer said ok. We put it down as it is now heard on the old A&M Album "RockSalt & Nails".

    Thats how it happened.

  • this is UNREAL

  • This song is about a road in south Montgomery County, Alabama; it leads out by the Trotman Place on Woodley Road. Legend has it that Steve and a couple of local boys who may still be around were picking and singing on their way to a party. The local boys apparently didn't have Steve's tolerance for shine; and Steve wrote the song on the way back to town while the locals slept it off. When I was a kid I drove that road out to the "Pond" to hunt or fish most every weekend... it's a special place.

  • @ReggiesReply before i went off to college i drove that road every day to get into town. my dad's house is not five minutes away. we also knew the trotmans very well and used to ride horses with them.

  • -Sometimes there is a part of me

Has to turn from here and go

Running like a child beneath warm stars

    Down the Seven Bridges Road

-There are stars in the Southern sky

And if ever you decide you should go

There is a taste of time, sweet as honey

    Down the Seven Bridges Road

  • This is really good, but it was recorded in a studio. Every other version Ive heard is live, so the mistakes can't be edited out. Much more difficult live. Still very good though.

  • I think I like this version better than the Eagles' simply because of the really low bass/baritone part. It adds a lot to the harmony.

  • "There are stars in the Southern Sky...southward as you go."

    EXCELLENT!

  • absolutely amazing..timless sound and song..rock on

  • this recoding has set a nearly unassailable benchmark for quality vocal harmony. if there's anything better or more accurate out there, please let me know. this one still gives me goose bumps every time.

  • wow. nice work!

  • Terrific harmonies, but the guy singing that bassline is unbelievable!

  • EXCELLENT GUYS!!!

  • Bellissima!

  • Beatiful harmonies being fom Alabama and loving country great version of this Steve Young song

  • Friggin' Awesome

  • Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion?

  • The harmony in this song is tremendous. Thanks for posting.

  • I thought the original version by The Eagles was as good as it could ever get...

But these guys does it even better, I'm just blown away !!

  • It's like Kenney Chesney trying to sing Conway Twitty. No contest. These cats are stone cold smooth.

  • Let's see Rascal Fat or any of the other pretenders in country music today do it like this!

  • amen brother!

  • by the way, I smell a challenge in that statement.

  • is it the eagles?

  • Country band called Ricochet.

  • who is the song actually by ive heard 3 different things

  • writen by steve young, made famous by the eagles

  • Famous is a relative term. Down south in Alabama, we know the song was written by Steve Young, and Steve Young made it famous singing in honky tonks like "Lee's Tomb" in Tuscaloosa, home of the Alabama "Crimson Tide", BCS National Champions 2010.

  • You have just made an improvement on perfection! Is this possible?

  • i like this better then the original guess i should of herd the original first i stumbled across this one day and sung it for like 2 weeks after such a great song

  • Imagine a marching band playing this, Just perfect, Mine does!

  • i love this song my school is doin it in chours and its alil differnt but its pretty much teh same

  • One of the best covers I''ve ever seen! Great job!

  • Perhaps the most musically accomplished of any cover of Mr. Young's haunting song. And a gorgeous video.

  • One of my all time favorites

  • beautiful harmonies my dad is a band check them out mahogany ridge

  • i think this is a wonderful song. all who have recorded it make it their own. this rendition is a bit more polished than the Eagles version, but the raw quality of the Eagles is exactly what i like about their take on it.

  • Great harmonies guys! I'm glad I ran across it. Heath even sounds good, lol,.

  • The harmonies are amazing. Very clean and blend is just excellent, so everyone can be individually heard and enjoyed but no one stands out.

  • Eagles did it better and first!

  • Eagles did NOT do it first, Steve Young did it first, and I seriously doubt that either one of them did it better than this.

  • I actually think the eagles did it better than these guys, it actually sounds like these guys are covering the eagles version of it. and yes Steve Young did do it first. This is still a really good cover. 5 stars.

  • This is Ricochet singing this version of Seven Bridges Road.

  • Great!

  • who is this group?

  • lol the eagles.

  • This is an Eagles song but this isn't the Eagles in the video.

  • Precisely my point. itsmebrad23 can suck a fuckin chode.

  • no... its a steve young song the eagles covered him, and these guys covered both and it sounds great

  • no its not.....

  • my step dad is good friends with them and he even traveled with them

  • I actually drove on the seven bridges road ...

  • Holy Crap! What a good cover of Seven Bridges Road! Typically, I hate covers of Eagles songs, but this is at least as good as the Eagles - possibly even better!

  • Not an Eagles composition, actually written by Steve Young, credit where credit is due!

    takamine 1236

  • Learn your music dipshit

  • Anyone know where to find this arrangement?

  • Wow that's just amazing and my hat's off to you guys, GREAT job!

  • this is even better than the eagles......imho.......you guys absolutely nailed it.....from 43rd to 1st in 1 bar.......thanks

  • That was beautiful. I always did like Ricochet.

  • Thanks for putting this out here!!!! :-)

  • This is an awesome song!! The best version of this song that I have ever heard. I love to hear groups that can sing like that!

  • Great but once again the true arrangers of this version- Ian Matthews and Michael Nesmith- are conveniently not mentioned.

  • haha i love this!!lol my mom dated 1 of the guys, and iv gone to 1 of the concerts!

  • anyone know where i can download this version of the song?

  • eagles

  • Wrong- This is the country group Ricochet

  • the Eagles did ... but this is a great cover ... :)

  • Steve Young wrote the song, but the eagles did a fantastic cover that still gets played on my local radio station. :)

  • i like this song, whoever sings it...

  • this is amazing love the harmonies!!! awesome job!

  • amazing!

  • This is my favorite version of this song....I loved it before, but I think these guys outdid Don Henley and the boys.
