Not an ideologue you say? Then do you still have a worship of Obama today? Why do you support a socialist/COMMUNIST system of healthcare, and why do you like radical Michael Moore?
Why are liberals always lecturing about how Americans who don't apologize for being so are dumb, America deserves to be mocked, but they won't say anything bad about said Communist governments? Who's Timmy? You're definitely no Lassie.
Who is the party that gushes over Castro and Hugo Chavez? Who dvocates the distribution of wealth and always talks about 'fair share' and bashes millionaires and corporations?

(sorry, one last comment and I'll shut up, I promise, its just that seeing this video stirred up emotions in me and I have to get it out) - see, when we have BRIBERY going on, something is wrong. Why can't we have the same health care as what the congress and senate have? And why are they exempt from the health care plan thats IMPOSED UPON US?! And whats the language about the RFID Chips?!
My biggest complaint is the fact that FOX news isn't really FOR conservative ideology, but rather, serves the left wing agenda to smear real conservatist viewpoints. Half of republicans have been infiltrated by neoconservative socialist sympathizers, thats why we're forced into this whole bullcrap corporate welfare to begin with. I shouldn't have to pay for walstreets bailouts
But don't go thinking I'm a BUSH supporter, because its clearly obvious the whole BUSH family was clandestinely involved with central and south american drug trafficking
@noyouaintgettingit *let me clarify this comment above about the south american contra affair* if they were to do such a thing, why would they keep it illegal? Because it makes more money? Why not just legalize it and make it transparent across the board? That way we won't have stuff like that happening... also, anybody catch Oliver North in Afghanistan? I bet he's going to smuggle opium in the USA
And "UNITER?" I don't really call it unity to force about legislation that specifically had language about abortion, euthanasia, assisted suicide and the like - something that the vast majority don't want to pay for - in this "Obamacare" package
I suppose its supposed to be alright that we're at war still since we have a democrat in office.. Its time you all stopped and woke up and realized that both sides serve the Bilderberg Group's special interests. Its an OLIGARCHY.
I think Obama has potential to be a great president, and no matter what he says/does, the mans never going to please everyone. There seems to be at the moment, too many people who want to pick at every single thing he says or does, and squeeze any bit of negativeness they can, just to discredit, or work against him.
As he yammers on and on (with the teleprompter) I wonder how much of this dribble people will believe. He says what he needs to to sway the polls, period.
LOL. Thats how I see Libtards myself. I firmly believe they are a danger to our country. They are not a top predator and wouldnt survive very long in a dog eat dog enviroment.
When I think of weak liberals, I think of Jacob Silberberg....the cowering pussy AP reporter who only went out with my platoon on a couple low-threat security patrols and then wrote to the AP about his harrowing Iraq experiences with his liberal twist on things to make it seem like we were quagmiring ourselves in the ass....well...here's to you, fagbait Silberberg....look at us now
Yeah we had a guy from the times. Always complaining and asking us how we handle the heat. I had a laugh when AP got hit by an IED outside Ramadi. No one was hurt but the cameraman urinated on himself. The day before he was asking us what we thought about Bush. These fools think we should hold hands and sing springsteen songs. I warn em all the time the world is not a soft and cuddly place. But they think it is. And that will their downfall.
I'm waiting for Obama to lift sanctions on Iran and their oil trade bring in billions in GDP for their country and they can buy billions in nuclear technology from Russia and continue to sponsor terrorism in Iraq and across the globe. It will happen bro...and I'll be on a security contract somewhere on Africa when it does
I got fucked up in 2004 by an IED so im out of the game for awhile. Iran I believe is getting what they deserve for their interference in Iraq and providing explosives to the Insurgents. Obie is gonna fuck up the entire balance of security in the world.
Obama can build bridges, but its the people's choice if they wanna cross over. Barrack is a uniter no doubt about it, and going for free energy instead of drilling for more oil like mcain wanted to do will get us thier, but its gonna be a new aproach, and if we can do it, the world will modernize faster.
There is nothing conservative or even moderate about Obama. The whole centrist tag is a joke. The latest polls how that Obama is the most polarizing president in history and with reason. Trying to spray perfume on a turd doesn't take away from the fact that it is still a turd,
What polls? And what is their margin for error? How many citizens do they survey? Do they target a specific demographic, or is it just across the board as it should be? Are they credited, and if so, by whom? Facts man, I require FACTS!!!!!
Haaaa! Uniter? You mean like when he lied saying the bailout package would be available for viewing for a week, then sneaked it through overnight? I still haven't seen a leftist media outlet truly criticize Obama. Your comments are amateurish and selective. You'll graciously accept comparison to Ronald Reagan when it serves your purpose, but couldn't compare Reagan policy with Obama's voting record. "Likeability" is just an underhanded carrot for confused voters. Turn off the trough and read!
id have to call him a radical who hates american values, and is doing everything in his power to destroy this country. but hey. america is getting what it wants
The united States of America {with a small u as it appeared in the Constitution} was established by the colonies. It's a voluntary union of commonwealths as each signed onto the concept of a federation freely. Did the Founders intend that member-states should be held under duress in this democratic republic?
Obama says hes conservative to get votes. same reason specter went to the other side, webb too....its politics to get votes. "conservative in that sense" then describes it by sitting down and listening first, is not what conservative i synonymous with. also dont you dare talk about our troops as dead on the ground before you ever acknowledge their sacrifice. that is extremely offensive and you liberals need to know that. there are some men, SOME MEN, who will go to war, all of my family included
Obama's a liberal socialist loon who will bleed the taxpayers dry in order to fill up Government funds. Check out his policies on wealth distribution. He's a nut job!
That means he is not conservative. Just because you say it doesn't make it true... and I am going to throw a jackass out there for good measure... jackass!
while it looked like he going to be a centralist, at this point he is not so. However one could agree for the first 100 days you would expect that...I saw a poll on cnn where he had 88% approval rate from the left and only a 27% from the right., just some food for thought.
And what has Obama done for this country so far except increase wire tapping, refuse to investigate and lock up war criminals, and how about give 12.8 TRILLION BUCKS TO BANKS? I dont know about anybody else but I am not to thrilled with his policies so far. and yes i did vote for the man, I should have know better!
LOL the OP is playing strawman, he's right-wing and assuming a middle of the road position. Everything he says and sets up is meant to assist the conservative "movement".
Like i said your setting him up to be so great and he really hasnt done anything great. That Bailout was complete BS and thats why we wont see any changes and when we dont...who are you ll gonna blame?
bwahaha a republican creation stoutly supported by a democratic and liberal congress you dolt. GW Bush is a blue blooded left leaning posing as a conservative for the base. The only president to expand govt greater than a 8 year Bush presidency is a 3 month Obama presidency.
barcracrossestheapls, youre an idiot and obvious don't know anything about economics, obama is ruining our economy. Tell what change well he bring, its all bullshit.
ok. Thanks for keeping the discourse at academic levels, anyway.... Disagree with him, fine. Give his policies a chance to mature in the real world, then evaluate. BTW, this whole "you don't know" the economy thing is getting old. Grow up and realize that there are many economists that agree with Obama. Opinion is split down the middle, so no one can pretend to have absolute knowledge regarding the economy. As O'Reilly would say, "Wise up, Sir."
dude for real Obama doesn't know anything about our economy, all his economist are Keynesian and from what you have said you dont know what that is. A free market can only exist in the absence of government intervention, obama believes in the opposite. Sorry if i don't consider his policys to be correct but thats because i all ready know theyre wrong, him and Federal reserve are going to ruin our currency and prolong the depression, Obama is not split down the middle, "Wise up, Sir"
I am familiar with this and would agree with its overall view of central bank policy, but this theory cannot fully be applied to our situation. Low interest rates and easy credit are the not only reasons we are in this mess. BTW, almost every major economic theorist post Hayek have disowned it.
His policies have had a chance to mature in the real world, because his are the same as FDR's were. all they did was prolong the depression until the start of the war produced enough jobs to pull us out.
The only economists behind Obama are the ones who stand to gain from a weaker U.S. Dollar. History CLEARY shows tax cuts are the greatest economic stimulus. e.i. Reagan, Ireland, and Clinton finally conceding to a republican congress.
Obama is certainly what one might call the ideal presidential candidate (now prez), because he possesses many qualities that have previously been unique to the most famous of his predecessors. He is well loved and can reach across the aisle well (reagan), he is the scholarly type who can tell a hell of speech (wilson) and the timing of his office in a recession and his weekly communication with the people (FDR). That and his relative inexperience and team of rivals (lincoln). People love him.
So Obama had a lot of GREAT ideas on his website, like EVERY other presidential candidate, and has recently proven many of his critics correct, by admitting that even his MASSIVE spending plan will not be enough to fund those ideas. Not even close.
I think the most disappointing item that he utterly guaranteed the to his voters was Universal Healthcare. Oh well, he got his, now the insurance companies will STILL get theirs.
There are a lot of details and complexities about his policies that are excluded in those brief summaries so that people visiting the site in order to get an idea of what kind of candidate he is can do so quickly and effectively.
That's a nice red herring considering it's totally unrelated to Obama. Of course, if you're infected with "the stupid", a weak mind *would* make a connection that isn't there. OH well, I'll just assume that you're not stupid.
I have been a Republican my whole adult life. I did not vote for Obama but I will back Obama because he will be our next president. I will not bail out and speak against him because he makes mistakes. In my eyes a true American citizen will stand behind our leader unless the laws are broken. People stood beside Clinton with his down falls. People have stood beside George W Bush even with his downfalls.
This guy is so fake and dishonest/ He says you are your brothers keeper/ and his aunt he wrote about lives in section 8 , and his brother in Kenya lives in poverty. He couldn't keep his word on taking public campaign funds. Hes raised so much money, and now he won't even help the DNC by giving up some of it to help his own party...Obama is about Obama...Your false profit will betray you !
Yes I spelled Prophet as PROFIT TO MAKE THE POINT OBAMA IS ABOUT OBAMA. He will do what ever it takes to keep power, like bail the banks and auto makers out...But McCain voted for that piece of shit too...With 150 billion in pork..So we our on our way to socialism, lets hope it works, its what the people want..It doesn't work anywhere else..But Obama has it wrapped up in a nicer package for his lemmings..MERRY CHRISTMAS
George W. Bush's failed attempts at 'uniting' aren't all due to him. Over the past decade, congress has been anything but bipartisan. Bush failed because he was unwavering in his bills and proposals, never compromising. Congress failed because they could never agree on anything. Issues that should've been solved in months took years. Our president changes in a few weeks, but our congress remains the same. Obama gets my vote simply because a dem legislature + a dem executive can get more done.
Oh I'm not advocating McCain. The man is an idiot.
All I'm saying is that with McCain we know what we're getting - an idiotic neo-conservative. Whereas most Americans who vote for Obama will be voting for a charismatic black man, and not a socialist leader with no idea how the economy actually works or what actually made America great a hundred years ago.
Personally I'd like to avoid both, and don't buy the lesser or two evils nonsense. Third party in 08! Send a message!
Please, everyone, google "Anne Kilkenny" and go to the very first link to find out all the information you need to know about Sarah Palin. It Was written by Anne Kilkenny, who knew Sarah Palin personally and was even on a first name basis with her relatives.
Change for change because change is change and because of change we can change. When I buy something at the store I get change, can I drive my self, yes I can. Change is coins and sometimes bills but that is change you can believe in it is real change. Sometimes a quarter is change and sometimes even a 100 is change, now that is real change. Barry for US Senate 08
The other problem besides political speeches tending to focus on sound bites, is that most people don't READ. They don't want to actually take the time to read a candidate's positions, that would take work. They want the easy sound bite solution. Does anyone else remember the movie "Network"? I had my teenagers watch it recently. They thought since it's 30 years old, it did a pretty good job of predicting TV in the next generation. Are we getting the gov. we deserve?
No one questions his merits and qualifications. Everyone just focuses in on the irrelevant issues like his race. How does that have anything to do with whether he'll be a good leader? Media led tunnel vision if I've ever seen it.
This is what's so terrifying about Barack Obama. He's an incredibly charismatic political figure who doesn't need to spell out exactly what he believes in. He's running on his charisma and his race.
What he would never advertise is his real stance on major issues, and his small track record. The man was a member of a black supremicist church for years, and he truly is about as left as you can get in America today. He's also a socialist. How, pray tell, aren't these divisive qualities?
Sarah Palin has FAR less experience than Obama! She was mayor of a city with approximately 8,000 people and then Governer for less than two years of a state with a population of roughly 260,000 people! Those are VERY SMALL numbers considering how many people are in every other state! If McCain were elected, odds are he would not even live out his full term(considering his health and age), then Palin would be president and we'd be fucked.
oh yes the great obama vs. mccain battle royal...its a scam folks...look behind the curtain before taking what these folks say at face value...Obama and McCain have spoken at the Council on Foreign Relations and attend questionable secret societies...this is not a left vs. right issue anymore, our country doesn't have time for this.
everyone...stances, political talk, and points of view do not matter...look who backs these folks..look how they voted...who cares what they said...W promised humble foreign policy look where we're at..please stop the left vs. right crap
this is a sad situation that too many americans dont understand. a great Irish philosipheronce said at the begining of the american revolution: first thier is spiritual awakining, then there is revolution, then there is abundence, then their is apethy, then their is dependence, and finally their is absolutisum. we are systematically giving our right of choise to the government with a false understanding that they will do better than we can do ourselfs. their must be an american awakeining again.
"Is it really possible that Barack Obama is the uniter-not-a-divider that George W Bush promised to be and never was?" Obviously you were asleep during the aftermath of 9/11 when the country came together BEHIND George W. Bush.
"I have never heard Obama give Bush credit for anything"
Is it really what you are seeking in the new president? Someone who will spend time discussing the good actions of the former-president. Here is the reality: an economical disaster, a costly war (whatever the motivations), an expensive tax break and a failing healthcare system. The issue is not about what Bush did right but about what can the new president (whoever it is) accomplish?
BTW, is ur life more comfortable than it was 8yrs ago?
BHO has indeed used political slogans as solutions. Also, his website does not set out principled political position. Instead, he comes down squarely on all sides of an issue. According to Congressional Quarterly BHO has voted the partly line 97% of the time. When he was a state senator he chickened out on over 140 votes (voting present is gutless). While an empty suit may appeal to some voters, I find it empty and vapid.
con't Having said that, I believe that the only way BHO can lose the election is if he is videotaped raping and murdering the Olsen twins.
This is BHO's election to lose. So far, he is running a far superior campaign to JSM. And since he has far more money and since most people don't actually vote based on constitutional issues (JSM is no better), BHO will probably win in November.
i hope so. according to media coverage, they claim polls show them almost evenly split. do you think they're trying to incite fear of the possibility that obama may not win?
People want to make a big deal to make it seem otherwise. Why? A few reasons:
1. Make there own decision seem like it has more worth. Everyone wants a winner.
2. Try to make others have a false perception that McCain is leading in the polls. When he is clearly not. Because people want to conform by picking the same pie that everyone else goes with even if they really like apple pie and don't like cherry.
cont'd, President Bush has doled out BILLIONS in aid to Africa (Obama Sr's homeland) and, like the mainstream media, Obama has stayed silent. If Obama could have been a big enough person and ackowledged at least SOMEthing good that our president has done then I might give him more creedence when he speaks of all of the things he doesn't like about Bush - not to mention that it would bring a lot more attention to the issue. But unfortunately Obama is just another partisan hack, Chicago style.
First, I just want to say I appreciate the forthrightness of your comments: a YouTube rarity.
Although I disagree with your assessment of Obama (sorry, I just do), you're right, there has been an overly abundant supply of anti-Bush rhetoric. And, perhaps because of the many follies seen in this administration, there have undoubtedly been overlooked positive acts and outcomes.
To you point re: congress - absolutely, I have virtually no idea about the inner workings of the American congress.
I don't feel I've tried to speak to Bush's motivation, merely to his rhetoric. It is clear that Bush has (at least in part) fostered this cleave in the American populus of "pro-war/anti-war."
Though I know that is a crude dichotomy, it seems to be the general sentiment (or at least seemed to be in these past few years). What i mean to say, is that this is not merely my speculation, but a fairly valid assessment of America's current political dynamic.
There is no question that political divide has become unbearable - I'm an independent, BTW. I blame the media for both Bush Derangement Syndrome and the Obamamania going on. Neither of which is healthy for our country, nor do I believe that it reflects reality. When Bush made his speech about "you're either with us or against us" he opened himself up for his detractors, many in the liberal media here, to use it against him. He meant allies throughout the world fighting terrorism, they spun it.
Concerning Obama, I don't hate him for hate's sake as so many find it easy to do with Bush. I didn't hate Clinton. I would vote for my former democrat governor, Mark Warner, in a heartbeat, as I have for many dems. Obama is an appealing guy who is quite eloquent. I do believe he is an empty suit, though. I haven't talked with any Obama fan that can show me a single legislative accomplishment of his. His talk of change, hope and unity is nothing new, either, Bush ran on a new tone/uniter platfrm.
LiberalViewer, I can appreciate that you want to take Obama at his words, but remember...just words. What has he done to bring any unity at the federal or state level. I'm no McCain shill but I guarantee that he has crossed the aisle more than Obama could ever hope to. BTW, if Obama is so concerned about our young men and women being in harm's way, what did he do in Chicago to save their youth. 10 times as many US citizens are killed in his hometown than all of Iraq.
You say that Bush set out to be a unifier, but you believe he has failed to do so.
I disagree. I think that he has unified American people in their enmity towards himself. I believe his approval rate is now below 30 or 20%.
The poor decisions on the part of the Bush administration have brought the American people closer together (Blacks, Whites, Repubs, Dems, Men, Women) through their common disapproval.
So, to be fair, I think you must give credit where credit is due.
Marciniscool, hasn't congress done the same? Their approval has been consistently lower than the President's. I personally think President Bush has tried, it's just that he has been demonized by the media since the 2000 election. I have heard a lot of partisan vitriol come from the left and have yet to see President stoop to their level.
I can't speak to Bush's motivation, only the results available for public discourse, however, I believe that Bush has failed to capture the sentiment of the American people (I say this as an outsider looking in).
Although, I agree with your final words; it is true that many dissenters used Bush's shortcomings with partisan intent, to bolster the left and diminish the right, while the President has not used the same rhetoric as candidly, however, he has done so in a masked manner..
.. His partisan rhetoric has been somewhat nuanced, in that he did not call out "leftists" or "democrats," but rather (correct me if I'm wrong) has called out those who oppose his brash policies, who, as is the case in a dual party system, happen to be the opposing party (ie democrats).
Although your point regarding "stopping to their level" is a valid one, I think it is merely an analysis of the superficial.
With all due respect, you state that you are a outsider looking in who cannot speak to President Bush's motivation, then you kind of do just that. Believe me, I know that there are no saints in Washington and that all of these guys play politics. I understand that you are from Canada so maybe you only pay attention to the president and not congress but what congress has done is deplorable. I have never heard Obama give Bush credit for anything. cont'd
AGAIN I REITERATE THE BURDEN OF PROOF LIES WITH YOU TO PROVE HE IS A UNITER
I DON'T HAVE TO PROVE ANTHING BECAUSE I SEE NO EVIDENCE OF HIM BEING A UNITER. YOU HAVE TO SHOW THAT HE IS A UNITER BECASUE YOU ARE MAKING THE CLAIM
Does being a victim make it any less racist?
Hypothetical: Maybe I was gang raped by a group of black guys. Does that mean I should rant and rave about Black people are plotting the genocide of whites?
Again, u were the one citing a record of Obama's votes as evidence he's "Left Wing" and not a unifier but u are unable to show any of those votes make him "Left Wing" and not a unifier.
And, your analogy doesn't fit the comments made by Rev Wright nor have u backed up your claim he is a "racist."
But, for more details, you'll have to hope I actually finish my video that I've tentatively titled:
"Is White America Victimized by Black Anger Over Oppression?"
Again, YOU cited a list of Obama's votes as evidence he's "Left Wing" and not a unifier but YOU are unable to cite any votes making him "Left Wing" and not a unifier.
And, your analogy doesn't fit b/c u it doesn't match what Rev. Wright said. Go back and look at his quotes and you'll see your mistake.
But, for more details, you'll have to hope I finish my video that I've tentatively titled:
"Is White America Victimized by Black Anger Over Oppression?"
Yes my analogy fits becasue the equivelency of the 2 evils, one of racism, one of rape, where rape is quite possibly worse which compunds the wrong of Rev Wright's Racism.
BUSH BUSBH BUSH BSUH, OBAMA IS A NIGGER FOR GODS SAKE!!! A NIGGER!!! A SLAVE!!!!! YOU DUMBASSSES!!!!!! HE'S A DUMB FUCKING NIGGER, HOW DID HE EVEN GET PRESIDENT. PROBABLY PEOPEL VOTED HIM FOR LOLS AND PITY. FUCKING IDIOT.

There seems to be at the moment, too many people who want to pick at every single thing he says or does, and squeeze any bit of negativeness they can, just to discredit, or work against him.

You're not still going on about the teleprompter are you?
You think Bush didn't use a teleprompter? OF COURSE HE DID, as with all presidents since 1950.
At least Obama writes his own speeches, no way Bush wrote a single one of his, and he definitely needs to fire his speech writer anyway.
The teleprompter thing is so retarded. He writes his speeches then puts em on a teleprompter, would you prefer it was written on paper?

Obama is certainly what one might call the ideal presidential candidate (now prez), because he possesses many qualities that have previously been unique to the most famous of his predecessors. He is well loved and can reach across the aisle well (reagan), he is the scholarly type who can tell a hell of speech (wilson) and the timing of his office in a recession and his weekly communication with the people (FDR). That and his relative inexperience and team of rivals (lincoln). People love him.

Are we getting the gov. we deserve?

This is what's so terrifying about Barack Obama. He's an incredibly charismatic political figure who doesn't need to spell out exactly what he believes in. He's running on his charisma and his race.
What he would never advertise is his real stance on major issues, and his small track record. The man was a member of a black supremicist church for years, and he truly is about as left as you can get in America today. He's also a socialist. How, pray tell, aren't these divisive qualities?

Sarah Palin has FAR less experience than Obama! Those are VERY SMALL numbers considering how many people are in every other state!
TLB73737 3 years ago
con't Having said that, I believe that the only way BHO can lose the election is if he is videotaped raping and murdering the Olsen twins.
This is BHO's election to lose. So far, he is running a far superior campaign to JSM. And since he has far more money and since most people don't actually vote based on constitutional issues (JSM is no better), BHO will probably win in November.
TLB73737 3 years ago
i hope so. according to media coverage, they claim polls show them almost evenly split. do you think they're trying to incite fear of the possibility that obama may not win?
wunderbeast 3 years ago

TomSnakebite 3 years ago
First, I just want to say I appreciate the forthrightness of your comments: a YouTube rarity.
Although I disagree with your assessment of Obama (sorry, I just do), you're right, there has been an overly abundant supply of anti-Bush rhetoric. And, perhaps because of the many follies seen in this administration, there have undoubtedly been overlooked positive acts and outcomes.
To you point re: congress - absolutely, I have virtually no idea about the inner workings of the American congress.
marciniscool 3 years ago
Aside:
I don't feel I've tried to speak to Bush's motivation, merely to his rhetoric. It is clear that Bush has (at least in part) fostered this cleave in the American populus of "pro-war/anti-war."
Though I know that is a crude dichotomy, it seems to be the general sentiment (or at least seemed to be in these past few years). What i mean to say, is that this is not merely my speculation, but a fairly valid assessment of America's current political dynamic.
marciniscool 3 years ago
There is no question that political divide has become unbearable - I'm an independent, BTW. I blame the media for both Bush Derangement Syndrome and the Obamamania going on. Neither of which is healthy for our country, nor do I believe that it reflects reality. When Bush made his speech about "you're either with us or against us" he opened himself up for his detractors, many in the liberal media here, to use it against him. He meant allies throughout the world fighting terrorism, they spun it.
TomSnakebite 3 years ago
Concerning Obama, I don't hate him for hate's sake as so many find it easy to do with Bush. I didn't hate Clinton. I would vote for my former democrat governor, Mark Warner, in a heartbeat, as I have for many dems. Obama is an appealing guy who is quite eloquent. I do believe he is an empty suit, though. I haven't talked with any Obama fan that can show me a single legislative accomplishment of his. His talk of change, hope and unity is nothing new, either, Bush ran on a new tone/uniter platfrm.
TomSnakebite 3 years ago
BTW marciniscool, I appreciate your forthrightness and decorum as well. Peace

Lib. Viewer,
You say that Bush set out to be a unifier, but you believe he has failed to do so.
I disagree. I think that he has unified American people in their enmity towards himself. I believe his approval rate is now below 30 or 20%.
The poor decisions on the part of the Bush administration have brought the American people closer together (Blacks, Whites, Repubs, Dems, Men, Women) through their common disapproval.
So, to be fair, I think you must give credit where credit is due.
marciniscool 3 years ago 8
So true
tamereoessessahein 3 years ago
Marciniscool, hasn't congress done the same? Their approval has been consistently lower than the President's. I personally think President Bush has tried, it's just that he has been demonized by the media since the 2000 election. I have heard a lot of partisan vitriol come from the left and have yet to see President stoop to their level.
TomSnakebite 3 years ago
TomSnakebite,
I can't speak to Bush's motivation, only the results available for public discourse, however, I believe that Bush has failed to capture the sentiment of the American people (I say this as an outsider looking in).
Although, I agree with your final words; it is true that many dissenters used Bush's shortcomings with partisan intent, to bolster the left and diminish the right, while the President has not used the same rhetoric as candidly, however, he has done so in a masked manner..
marciniscool 3 years ago
cont'd
.. His partisan rhetoric has been somewhat nuanced, in that he did not call out "leftists" or "democrats," but rather (correct me if I'm wrong) has called out those who oppose his brash policies, who, as is the case in a dual party system, happen to be the opposing party (ie democrats).
Although your point regarding "stopping to their level" is a valid one, I think it is merely an analysis of the superficial.
marciniscool 3 years ago
With all due respect, you state that you are a outsider looking in who cannot speak to President Bush's motivation, then you kind of do just that. Believe me, I know that there are no saints in Washington and that all of these guys play politics. I understand that you are from Canada so maybe you only pay attention to the president and not congress but what congress has done is deplorable. I have never heard Obama give Bush credit for anything. cont'd

Does that mean I should rant and rave about Black people are plotting the genocide of whites?

sunstorm007,
Again, u were the one citing a record of Obama's votes as evidence he's "Left Wing" and not a unifier but u are unable to show any of those votes make him "Left Wing" and not a unifier.
And, your analogy doesn't fit the comments made by Rev Wright nor have u backed up your claim he is a "racist."
But, for more details, you'll have to hope I actually finish my video that I've tentatively titled:
"Is White America Victimized by Black Anger Over Oppression?"
Thx 4 commenting :-)

Since you are an Attorney I am going to spell this out real slowly for you
The B U R D E N O F P R O O F
Lies with the one making the assertion.
You say he is a uniter. You have to prove it.
I have supplied some reason for thinking he is not. I am not going to look through his voting record
However, all you have said was "ohhhh he gives grear speeches!"

One more time

Actually his opposition to NAFTA and His Far left Loon Samantha Power is more evidence that he is a far left loon.
Where is your evidence that he is a conservative on issues other than a canned inteview on the mainstream media?

The only way my analogy does not fit is if you believe that racism is morally worse than the act of gang raping people.
If I even use the "Nigger" not even stating anything else, just saying the word "Nigger" I will get branded a racist whether I claim to be or not.

sunstorm007,
Again, YOU cited a list of Obama's votes as evidence he's "Left Wing" and not a unifier but YOU are unable to cite any votes making him "Left Wing" and not a unifier.
And, your analogy doesn't fit b/c u it doesn't match what Rev. Wright said. Go back and look at his quotes and you'll see your mistake.
But, for more details, you'll have to hope I finish my video that I've tentatively titled:

No, I cited credible news sources actually.
Yes my analogy fits becasue the equivelency of the 2 evils, one of racism, one of rape, where rape is quite possibly worse which compunds the wrong of Rev Wright's Racism.
2 wrongs don't make a right

Citing credible news sources is grounds by which I assume that he is leftist.
But you have defined the rules of the game by citing a canned interview as empirical evidence of his bipartisanship in the video.
You are holding me to a different standard than you hold yourself
