@miamad Very ignorant. The Engine is being built by a new joint French and Russian company and the engine was where the problems in Russian aircraft were in the past. The avionics are made by Thales...it's all being built to European Aviation Safety Agency standards.
...btw Boeing 737 has had the most crashes than any other aircraft.
@vorjay it's also because it's the most common and used aircraft in the world. Statistically it's not the most crash-prone aircraft. It has actually less crashes statistically against its rivals.
@vorjay That's total bullshit. Some of the planes that has higher fatal crashes per flight hours is amongst the DC-10, The MD-82, the 707, the DC-8 and the Tu-134. So stop being so god damn ignorant. And the reason because of that is that these are some of the most sold commercial airplanes of all time. Hence they have a much higher risk of being put into a low-budget third world country airliner with pre-flights not longer than that of a regular car driver.

Russia cannot sell Superjets to Iran, Cuba, North Korea because the Superjet has more than 10% American parts. Therefore according to American law. If an aircraft has 10% American parts and is destined to a country deemed to be against American government's interests. American companies are not allowed to supply parts to those aircrafts. So Russia cannot sell them to whoever it wants to. That is why airbus cannot sell planes to Iran as well.
WOW!!!!! But If this jet so nice, wonderful and perfect why mr. president of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev has chosen for own affairs - Ukranian aircrafts AN-148 ????......looks like Sukhoi Superjet 100 not so amazing! That`s the real fact. LOL!!!!!
At least that is what the Russian goverment and Sukoi cheif executive say. And the reason for that is that this plane is supposed to go global and there for it needs all international requirments (something Russia is not used to do...) otherwise it would end up being sold to only to anti west comercial embarged countrys such as Cuba and Iran and Sukhoi doesnt stop there wich is wise and a breath of modernization on the Russian economy itself.
its a historical moment for russia!!!!finally after ages of russian produced aircraft a competitive aircraft comes out!!!i bet som major airlines in the world will have this plane an it will also enter in our dayly life!!!
That was one of the most intense commercials for a presentation of an airliner I have ever seen... and also the only one I have ever see...

@wellerocks um no. Modern 737's are improved but the original 737 has the highest crash rate per-flight hours.

@wellerocks the original 737 isn't infamously unreliable?
vorjay 1 year ago
@vorjay
Well, the original 737-200 model and DC-10 are known to be the worst aircraft to fly on.
But the 737-200 is quite small, but it had many issues like the rudder failure on United and USAir.

The real fact IS that he cant use the untested Superjet, before during the years it proves it has no hidden enginering failures.

Why? I can explain...
The ssj100 spare parts, tools and service are more expensive, because all of it is made abroad Russia. AN-148 parts are incomparably cheaper...
That's why :)

Boeing and Airbus Hahah! They got nothing to do with it coz it's a short-range aircraft smaller than any Airbuses produced.
