  • Nice video, thats a pretty inexpensive way to be able to ride during winter. Love the bike by the way man.

  • the sound of 2stroke engine>>>>>>amazing ..

  • you the man

  • how in the fuck is there to of you?

  • i love the deep throaty sound of that bike

  • more like u need a snowmobile :/

  • You are a shit rider?

  • Which screws and where did you get them?

  • @JTJG94 These are Kold Kutters from ebay

  • did you lose alot of screws? cuz i usually do when i ride my 250

  • @NoodleJake1 I have lost some front, but not on the back

  • 15 people don't have ice screws.

  • Get a real set of ice tires and really rail that bike! Just got off the ice yesterday with my WR450f and it is unreal how they handle.

  • so i could use the tire after ??

  • @OandBmotocross Yes thats correct

  • can u take the ice screws out ! ?? keep your vids up !!

  • @OandBmotocross Yes the screws come out with almost no damage to the tires, just little marks where the screws were

  • nice vid bud

  • @MKDDREAMSTAH Thanks

  • hey groutaone nice videos and nice bike. just a question, how can you have your bike always that clean? looks like it's new from the producer (sorry my english i'm spanish)

  • @JRibasMari Thanks for watching, I dont like to put my bike away muddy, I pressure wash it often

  • you should use that for trail riding because u could go a whole lot faster while gaining traction

  • Can you tell me about the camera you are wearing on your helmet? Do you have any video footage taken from tha?

    Thanks!

  • @firedean Its a gopro hero, I think the camera was not on during this vid

  • old dude got some skill....

  • you don't need more screws.. You need spike tires screws are for girls

  • Dude i have an 89 cr500 and a 2001cr500, may i ask what model the motor on your bike is? and how hard is it to do a frame conversion on the 500's?

  • @TheVanover10 Its a 1990 engine in a 2003 CR250 frame, its a fair bit of work but the first gen frame is much easier

  • why you put nails in your tires

  • @TheFordboy13 Just looking for some traction is all

  • @TheFordboy13 Are you idiot?

  • notice he was on ice with out screws and after he was on like snow on top of ice that gets more traction

  • I love the sound of a 2-stroke :)

  • sit and spin

  • po cara legal mas se voce vier para o brasil vou te ensinar andar!!!

  • real nice bike. Is that a 2stroke 500cc? cause that'd be insane...... It sounds like a 2 stroke to me at least. But you don't see a lot of 2 strokes anymore. Only the 125's and 250's usually Yamaha too. Gotta love Honda reliability though. Never had one not start - even the the carb clogged to crap.

  • @lifeisgood070 Thanks, yes this is a 500 two stroke, super reliable

  • @groutaone Wow. How's the power? I've never ridden a 2stroke 500cc. Didn't know they made them that big except for snow-mobiles. That's got to be awesome. When it hits the power is it like getting smacked in the face? hahaah. Closest thing I could compare that to is a 650cc 4-stroke street bike. Some of these machines can bang through the gears almost faster than you can shift.

  • @lifeisgood070 The big two strokes seem to have good power on the bottom, not as good as a four stroke but fairly good so when the big power comes its not so much of a toggle switch power hit, its kinda like power everywhere

  • @lifeisgood070 dur its a two stroke.. look at the head pipe, plus it says cr500, 4 srokes are crf ..

  • when you open the gas it s a beutiful music =)

  • TOO MUCH FUN :)

  • was that ur twin??

  • @TRITTYcat No I dont have a twin

  • you should let guitar dude make more videos :P

  • you should try an explorer snowmobile kit for dirt bike, would be loose on the 500!

  • I stumbled across you with the boiler video and I see we have a bit in common, I used to have a cr 125 that I did some ice racing with, If i remember right I went 3 teeth bigger in front and custom 12 tooth less in the rear... lost the power but top end was about 90mph and less power was better on ice , what gears you run??

  • @shayneyasinski Sounds like you really had your 125 flying, I have a 14 and 48

  • A good job on the vid man

  • @NICKD0G881 Thanks

  • i love your cr500 man.. i must to try once or twice that kind of beast in my life

  • @crazybazz80 Bit of a beast they are, but they sure are entertaining

  • Hello. How long where the ice screwes ?

  • @ktmsemen Back had 5/8 thread, front had 3/8 thread

  • Kold Kutter ice screws? Do you think they´d work for use on public roads too? Hmm..

  • @delatajada They will quickly lose their bite

  • @pumper1970 Thanks for the fast answer. Just a couple of minutes ago i came from the local mc shop and saw those screws with a sign beside them saying that theyre not suitable for bare ground.

  • beautiful bike mate, u got balls riding it

  • @munez95 Thanks man

  • @groutaone Mega OIO balls

  • 3:08 Elastomania

  • good riding

  • @MrTHIPARU Thanks

  • Do you foul the plug alot on that? I have CR85 and I seem to foul it about every other ride.. :/

  • @lostinthegame77 I have had the same plug in my bike for two years and it may go another year or two, I mix 32-1 and I think the plug lasts because I like to make the engine scream for mercy heh heh

  • @groutaone That must be why.. I always mix it 40-1. I'm gunna give 32-1 a try, and see if it helps.. Thanks!

  • id like to ride with you some day,,,,,i have a suzki drz 400s thats quite impressable

  • Why the hell cant you just buy real spike tires?

  • @oklofobloo Are you angry?

  • spikes? You can buy pro built ice tires that work AMAZING!!! Figure on spending about $1000

  • my buddy studded his yz250 with two or 3 screws in each lug, did you add more?

  • @mxjunkie28 I got a Kenda ice tire for this winter, four screws per lug and spaced close together

  • More screws isn't always better, the length of screws and the way you put them in is very important!

  • this just looks so fun it's unbelievable

  • You look like Michael Schumacher...no?

  • @alexpuffy1 I get that a lot, I just dont have his money ha ha

  • you got a beautiful bike!

  • I want to see the videos from the go pro

  • Careful on that throttle cable. JESUS! Gonna rip it off!

  • I've got a 96 kx 500 with approx 800 screws in the tires. Best traction of any surface is studded tires on ice. Far too much fun on a lemans style track with a bunch of good riders. I stay away from ovals, boring after one lap.

  • @pumper1970 How long can you ride before you can feel the edges are wearing a bit?

  • @groutaone They loose some of their edge just by rolling the bike on the garage floor. I keep pieces of carpet on hand for that, even for the loading ramps on the truck. When i feel the front end getting sloppy, its time to look at the studs.

  • @groutaone I also put a lot of screws in each knob, min 3-4 in the centers, 2-3 on sidewall.Kenda 257 tire on back, kenda millville sticky on front, most tires self destruct due to tire hardness, these are the only common tires that wil last.

  • the screw are not good u nned to get bold thet get secured on the inside of the tire with long spikes then u talking heese are to weak and small

  • @BallerSkier Like sled track picks, that would work

  • does the 500 get any traction with the screws? lol. and did you ever put more on?, because you said it needed more,, lol

  • @william16339 This winter I plan on using lots more, have an ice tire on the way

  • Did you add more screws? Also have you tried a 2nd gear start?

  • @45deere I will use more screws for this winter, have not tried a second gear start

  • what if you drove on a road with those screws?

  • @outdoorsman310 They would damage fast

  • how long does the spikes? are they quickly worn?

  • @slimeriky They wear fast if they get spun hard, more screws would reduce the spin and make them last a lot longer

  • @groutaone do you mean that they come off the tyre or the lose the sharpness?

  • @TheTuntso Lose sharpness

  • @slimeriky They wear fast if the tire spins a lot, mine were 5/8 long not counting the head

  • El tornio Es normal O es especial Para Eso?

  • "aww shit!"

  • I bet the dude is super fun to hang out with! I want to go ride now...

  • Comment removed

  • So sweet :P

  • When i stud my bike tires I dip each screw in epoxy and then screw it into the tire, I never lost 1 screw in 4 months of winter riding, you will wear the screw right out before they fall out,

  • Your the only person i ever see on here that really rides they're 500!

  • @TheSupersample Thanks bud

  • @TheSupersample Go /watch?v=JS7UUYxRFrk and look!!!

  • what if the ice breaks?

  • @crzymonkey1000 You could die, I wont go on unless I think the ice is safe

  • what a difference they make! should try it with my cr 85.

  • @lee1kawasaki1 The best thing is a tire that has room for more screws, this year I want to try a Kenda ice tire

  • ive seen EVERY one of your videos!!! lol i love it

  • @hunterw6047 Dang thats a lot of watching, huge thanks bud, dont let your bio butter batterys run low ha ha

  • Kinda shocked you haven't experimented with a sand paddle tire yet.

  • @RESET1776 Ya I only have one video with that tire, more snow, water and mud is in store for that tire I think

  • so glad i found your channel, videos all year round of cool stuff and one dedicated camera person, nice edit job also

  • @Bret3030 Thanks bud

  • wow i know you ride very well but you also doing the guitar as will as you ride... cool !!!

  • @bonzo9303204406 and the snow effect behind you is as cool as the ride thumbs up for the snowplow

  • @bonzo9303204406 Thanks bud I always appreciate the up rate.

  • No you don't need more screws, you just need what we use in Finland piikkikumi.fi

  • @groutaone y dont you have a racen number on ur bicke

  • @MoreChevyHP Thats right, I dont race I just play, I have had enough broken bones for a lifetime

  • how many screws would you say you used? i think im goig to o this with my 250

  • @snowman1692 Best thing is get a tire that will hold as many screws as possible

  • I did this in 06 and i raced alot of sleds... They ALL lost. I had 900+ studs in a 250F.Hope u had as much fun as i did. who said bikes cant run in winter.

TIP. line stud cuts on aposing axis, took me 16hrs to make my tires.after studing line up screw cuts with a flat nuby and then go race ur buddy.LOLOLOLOL 1 bar across next bar up and down. weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • @rob37greenbike Those guys on sleds must have thought they could beat you easy till you showed em how its done ha ha, hope to get some grip this winter for mine

  • I got good feeling when someone do some tests about those screws! Thank you!! Ps. You make good videos!

  • @Danoxify Thanks man

  • now you, guy, need 568 more screws on your tires :)

  • @MATUXAZ Sounds about right

  • awesome vid mate, at 3:20 that shit keeps ya on your toes lol

  • @honda064 Thanks for watching, I appreciate it

  • moped.

  • cum guzzeling nigger beaners

  • So how many screws were left in the tires after driving the whole winter? :P

  • @65cnvi4x I think most of them were still in, they want to slowly turn out

  • What you go do if it is summer? u go buy new whiels?

  • @MFrietjeM No just remove the screws and ride

  • What you go do is it is summer? u go buy new bands?

  • before i do that im getting new tires so i can put them on for other conditions

  • do the screws damage the tyre when you take them out :s

  • @TheOnlyMXRider Yes you can see where they were but thats about it

  • 2:56 for epic snow roost.

  • That looks sooo fun. can't wait to try my bike on ice :)

  • Tip try using some maxxis tires with more knobbies, thats what I use on my 500r and because they have more knobbies you can use more screws.

  • @jon5nc I found a kenda ice tire thats got room for about three times as much screws as what I used here, should be interesting

  • cr500 turns ice to snow haha

  • what year is that bike?

  • @shane10141 Its an 03 CR250 with a 1990 CR500 engine

  • Fun video ! , But a tip for you, when you screw them in . Put some Ultra strong glue to the screws befoire putting them in so they don't come out :P Its kinda painfull when you are out riding on the ice and the screws are flying all over the place !

  • you look like a fun ridin buddy

  • How did you polish your frame? Please Respond

  • @knonamer Fine wet sanding then machine polish

  • Can you please tell me where did you get those screws and if they are "normal " screws or if they are specially made for ice pleaz!Nice bike btw!

  • @themanwiththekx Thanks, theses are Kold Kutters and you can get em on ebay, they are not a normal screws and made just for ice

  • Can you please tell me where did you get those screws and if they are normal screws or made specially for ice please!

  • This is awesome, great video!

  • @MachiavelliSS Thanks buddy

  • do you have hole's in you're tires?

  • @Beerse696 Only after I install the screws, then there are tiny holes in the knobs after I remove the screws for dirt riding, tires still work fine however

  • do these ruin your tires? and i does it pop the tube, would you need to install a special tube?

  • @XWumpaXXFlicKX The tire is still good, just remove the screws for dirt, these Kold Kutter screws are available in different lengths for different size knobs

  • grow a ton -- yeah you already did :D
