Thanks for the video- I've been trying to find youtube vids of slower technique, but I can't quite find anything that really shows what the right hand is doing. Yours was very clear. Thank you!
@dirtyolcanyanero Don't worry about the speed. You'll find it'll just come out of nowhere. Concentrate on your technique and keeping relaxed and loose. Don't get frustrated that you can't play fast enough, just work on tone and precision etc. - work slow then gradually faster, and then one day you'll notice you're gradually gaining speed. Post back here in 6 months and let us know how you're getting on!
Why must there be douche bags on YouTube who must argue about every video that gets posted......or...my personal favorite...saying that the video is a fake. WTF! There's always someone who knows more or thinks their technique is better. I think it's just jealousy that they didn't think of posting something first. Get over it and realize that there are people who appreciate it, regardless of your douchebag opinion. Get a life!
Thanks for making this video, I'm a pro player with little rockabilly experience and want to learn more, this vid is simple and helpful. Don't sweat that Sven prick, I put up free videos and get people nit picking the angle of my thumb on bass, or arguing the best way to finger an a chord on guitar. Like I don't know how to play the instruments that pay my bills. People's bodies are different; whatever sounds right and is comfortable is the right way for you, end of story. Thanks again!
dunno whats bad about my technique. im not trying to show off or anything just trying to show how to do a triplet and get fast. all in the wrist. but some people use their whole forearm and its just wasted energy
I used to slpa exactly like you when I started and believed it was the best way for years, untill I got the palm triplet down.. I'l see if I can make a vid.. or look in my favorites (the top one, those are triplets)
the palm triplet is good and all but alot of wasted energy goes into it if your trying to play very fast. also beats your hand up if your using steels. after years of playing and gigging i find that this way in the video leaves you not as tired or sore. after a 2 hour gig of playing non stop fast psychobilly songs, this really helps out
both techniques have there advantages.. there are jusy things you could never do with just the fingers.. in some cases, like really fast you safe energy with the palm..
for the record, that in your video isn't very fast and quit messy..
And I still don't believe you play for longer then a month.. and you certainly haven't been giggin for years..
you will see what I mean if you try this exercise on two strings.. and play them in turns this fast with a triple slap in between..
with fingers only you'd have to move your hand twice for two slaps while with the palm you can make two slaps with one movement if you keep cycling them..
I was trying to do the same.. Like I said I played a long time like you and got by, and I always said the palm technique was bad.. untill all over sudden I got it.. that's what I'm trying to tell you.. not trying to be a wise***..
cool

this is impressive. At last a useful vid here in youtube, no need for talking, a simple slow down can explain better than thousand words.
THANKS FOR POSTING

What's with this svendycam fag ass? Leave the dude alone. Why don't you try posting a video of your technique then? Let's how good you are.

I'm sorry, I guess I was having a bad one.. I'm no real expert so I should keep my mouth shut.. :) just keep on slapping!!
but to me, it looks/sounds more like a triple slap, then a triplet.. and if you really want to do fast triplets try to use your palm...!
