  • Nice cover. Been working on this tune along with saultins of swing. Will post a cover of this tune soon myself. Again great job and keep on playing.

  • @rmdrummer87 Thanks...cool...Sultans of Swing by Dire Straits is a great tune. I used to play that with my band. It has a nice arrangement. I have been thinking of going over that one again. Thanks ....Nick

  • rock on dude.it's good to see drummers on here playing to the great classics from the 70's.keep it up!how long have you been playing?

  • @thecoolestdad Thanks...I started when I was 13 yrs old

  • Oh cool, Nick! I was considering covering this number since I used to play it in a band back in the mid 70s. You got a good nice smacking snare on the 2 & 4. I like how your own drum mix is above the song track enough so that you could play your own thing & not be concerned about parroting the drum track. Dig that section at 2:10. Nice man.

  • @rhythmantic Thanks Sal..I think I had most of the basics down on the song. Not quite sure if I inserted the hi hat hit that runs throughout much of the song in the correct place. I try to keep the drum volume above the song track volume mainly to allow people to easily hear what I am doing. And as you say I can do my own thing in spots and not be dueling exactly to what I miss. I know there was a spot where there was a four hit fill of 1/8 notes off the h hat but instead I did a drum fill

  • @readyeddy101 That's cool, there's many ways to play a pattern, so why not do it your own way if it works for the song. I'm learning to laugh now at folks who comment on covers that I" missed a crash" whereas before I felt I had to instruct them about the object of playing covers. .

  • Excellent Nick!!! I had the good fortune to see Lizzy live a few times way back long ago, great band. Sounds fantastic my friend!!!

  • @classican Thanks Pete. That is cool about having seen TL. I never did. They had such great guitar harmonies......Kepp Rock'n....

  • I remember this song very well ! Very long ago ! ;-) ...you rock Nick ! thumbs up !!!

  • @karenmuenchen Thanks Karen !!

  • The hit hat are not straight forward !!

  • AWESOME tune! Great cover Nick - love the ghost notes. This song has that drum groove that identifies the song the moment you hear it. Really fluid drum rolls moving around your kit. Great job 2:10-2:30 on those two monster fills! Looks like the Boyz are back in town again...

  • @FL50DRUMR Thanks Ed....My band just brought in a new bass player and this is a song he wanted to do so I started learning. I still need to tighten in up a bit but it's pretty much there. Thanks alot for you always uplifting comments from a fellow drummer. A really appreciate it my friend....Nick

  • @readyeddy101 Your welcome Nick - I only wish I could play half as good as you. I'm sure I will with time, the journey is part of the fun and adventure isn't it? This is a great song and I'm sure you guys will rock it!

  • @FL50DRUMR For me I am still in the journey. I always like the challenge of learning something new. I appreciate you kind words Ed. Believe me I have limitations to my drumming but I work with what I have. You are doing great drumming Ed !! You have a good feel for timing and your covers always sound right on to me.. You play challenging covers and play them well....You rock my frien !!! Nick
