  • korea fucks!! just mongoloids!!!

  • get it right it's KOREA!!!! chinese is our 2nd language in korean schools that's why it seems like they are chinese

  • get it right it's KOREA!!!!

  • SOUTH KOREA! lol

  • lol viteshmovies ur a ignorant loser stop giving credit to china for wat koreans did we got enough credit stolen from us already by china...

  • WTF! CHINA? It's S. KOREA!

  • you're canadian not korean. If you were korean you wouldnt post "negative"comments about korea. you're canadian and i dont see you trash talking canada? so you must also be a nationalist?! what a suprise!

  • lots of things i don't like about canada, my friend. i came here of my own volition. nobody forced me.

as for corruption, yes, true...but to cut korea some slack...it's no sudan or somalia.

lots to be proud of here, but to be subjected to hour upon hour of kim yu na is evidence that the nationalism could be toned down a bit. that was my original point...i stick by that...and i'm glad you love your country of origin.

    i really am.

  • for instance, I feel very happy for korea that samsung and hyundai and all these great companies. koreas internet!? i mean they have come along way. 60 years ago the country was in torn apart LITERALLY. And im gald to see a korea in the world cup and in the olypics and see thier phones at best buy. but in the same sense i TRUELY think that korea has one of the most corrupt governments in the WHOLE WORLD. I mean money can do anything in that country and i get pissed about that fact.

  • samsung and hyundai have also enslaved a nation, if you ask me. by the way, i've lived in korea for 7 years now. i don't disparage this place universally. there's lots i love about it. korea is in my heart. always will be, no matter where i go. yes, korea has much to be proud of, but it needs to accept its foibles, and look at itself critically. only then will it be able to fully grow. calls itself global this and that...but it's still insular.

sorry, but tokyo really IS the cleanest big city.

  • im pretty sure samsung and lg and hyundai and all these companies, online gaming developers... im sure they did more good for korean than harm. who would have thought korea would be where it is today 60years ago?

  • amazing!

  • No!! Korea jeju island

  • its okay dude...

  • shit japan didnt changed nothing. Corea instead of Korea? We changed it because Korea looks similar to "Koryo" the kingdom that fckin would own all of them! Japan is just pissed becuz samsung and LG is acyually catching up to them. Not to mention the online gaming industry thats also giving us wealth. Oh and their citizens all over Bae yong juns balls. They wanna be better than us.

  • hey, guess what, koryojin?

there are other countries in the world besides korea.

    sorry, corea.

just thought you might like to know.

yeah, yeah, we know....korea invented air, water, the sun, the moon, and bae yong jun's balls, but it's time to make friends.

perhaps you might want to make the streets of seoul as clean as the streets of tokyo and then wave your flag and pound your "be the reds" chest.

  • you serious tokyo? tokyo metro has 26million people. if you been there and seen spic and span streets then probably you only saw ONE little area. common sense... a city with 26million people cannot be "clean" unless they have slave sweeping the streets 24/7. yea and the air water bullshit? its a fcking creating myth ok? get over it. and man lemme tell you something yo... EVERY NATION is nationalistic. EVERY PERSON is nationalistic. EVERY PERSON is proud of his/her country.

  • korea, many will admit, has taken nationalism to extremes. it is, generally speaking, a racist mentality. i haven't experienced too many problems. i carry myself well. usually, it's been middle-aged men. but besides that, it's just a general "we are better than everybody" attitude. americans have it, too, by and large. nationalism is something that leaders instil, because it's good for business. for me, anyway, other than something slightly sentimental, it is borne of insecurity.

  • korea has taken nationalism to the "extreme"? lets say im a life gaurd and i have a white guy to my left and a korean guy to my right drowning (same distance) and i go save the korean guy, am i racist? Now tell me, how is speaking highly and proudly of your nation a bad thing? maybe all the other countries may not like you speaking highly of your country and not theirs, but it doesnt matter because once again EVERYONE has a little nationalist in them.

  • and no i dont live in Seoul i live in seattle. And im sure you yourself cheer for canada in the olympics? and im pretty sure you teach PROUD canadian history in canadian schools right? go ask a german and see if hes proud to be a german? go ask a russian and see if hes proud of russia. and then tell the russian guy that his country sucks and full of stinky people? i dare you. because im willing to bet that he will stand in "defense" for his country and probably punch you in your face.

  • its not just koreans that are 'nationalistic" or "PROUD" of thier country and talk highly of thier country. Every living soul is like that or should i say "should be like that" there is no reason to be ashamed of your country whichever country you may be from. and yes i know you are probably gonna think OH BOY ANOTHER KOREAN KID~ but thats just how everyone is. and personally i criticize both america and korea ALOT for so many reasons but also i am very proud to be a korean-american.

  • i'm glad you feel that way.

    really.

and you express yourself very well for a "kid".

but i think nationalism, tribalism, all of this branding is really much ado about nothing.

we're all human. we are ALL related, however distantly. we all bleed red. and we all cry for our mommies when we fall down and scrape our knees.

  • you must be an "odd ball" because every canadian i talked to thinks they have the best health care system they think americans are fat, lazy, sisterfuckers, redneck with shotguns so in turn they think that they are simply just BETTER.

  • well, then, those canadians would be wrong. we are all products of our environment, and conditioning is responsible for nationalism. borders are arbitrary, in a sense, and often came about as the result of conquest. race is also somewhat arbitrary.

your comment about the lifeguard is an interesting one. but again, my point is simply about nationalism gone wrong....not loving one's country. i trust that you have the discernment skills to know whereof I speak.

  • sure. extreme nationalism is indeed horrible (nazi germany) ex. i am very much korean and even here in the states i know many many korean people. and not ONE even think that we made the sun and the "dang gun" myth. the extent of their "nationalism" is that they prefer kimchi over hamburgers. maybe they even think that they know how to do math better than americans. but then if you ask them who plays football better? are they gonna say "I PLAY FOOTBALL BETTER!" no way.

  • i mean so we do admit that we are not best at everything. and also regarding your first comment "there are other countries besides korea" and this whole pride propoganda thing in korea. I am sure its there because i think its everywhere. but i must say i think that there has been alot of "non-korean proganda" also that goes around the internet and broadcasts that makes korea's "nationalsim" look worse than it actually is. in both of the koreas in fact. ever since 2002....

  • i mean 2002 was a big year for korea. world cup right? im sure you enjoyed it there? lol jk but i mean korea gets big wins debatable if they were fair or not i think they got alot of hometeam calls, but anyways, on the news and internet all you saw was streets filled with people cheering and telling media how their country was "the best" and posting "pride of asia" at their games. people from other countries see that and say " well... korea thinks they're the shit"

  • before 2002 i dont remeber seeing any comment on the net or people making mock videos of the "korean pride syndrome" it all came after 2002 when they watched the world cup and the red devils. And then... the chants even got popular then among koreans... before 02... no one said DAE HAN MIN KUK~ so i personally think that the 02 wc has "hyped" the korean pride thing a little bit.

  • if nationalism and tribalism are just pretty much nothing as you say, then what is the point of having a flag? whats the point of having a canadian flag? or a chinese flag? or a nigerian flag? no nationalism and sense of pride in ones own country? we may as well get a flag with a globe and call ourselves "the world and human beings ALL related together by almighty God".

  • R E P U B L I C O F K O R E A ~~~!!

  • korea not china...

also, yea it used to be Corea but Japan didn't like how the C came before their J so they changed it.

  • lies your parents told you.

    do your homework.

    totally untrue.

it was chosen in documents, and was spelled corea as a variation of cauli (from the chinese pronunciation) and there's evidence the french used corea as well. but really, who the hell cares? it's such a trivial nationalistic red herring.

  • chosen, meaning chosun (not from the verb "to choose"). no evidence whatsoever that japan did it to spite korea.

how childish would THAT be? c'mon....really now.

but it's still true that jesus was korean, and that the airplane was invented by a korean......all true.....yup. (just youtube it....it's here....so it must be true)

  • Nice job that was a year ago.

  • what's your point?

i just got the video forwarded to me.

look, i'm not trying to pick a fight, but the truth is what the truth is.

korean nationalism is a bit whacked. blame the politicians. blame the sense of insecurity, but it is what it is.

  • Not trying to pick a fight? Sure, that's why you said my parents lied to me.

My parents didn't tell me anything, it was "one year" ago and it's what I used to read. And nationalism? My post had no intention for nationalism. I am an American. And as I read your comments, you mock Koreans with similar senses of insecurities that you speak of, perhaps to regard your own sense of worth on your opinions about Korea?

It's not to blame anyone, it's just simply the way human minds work.

  • Well, I'm removed from the original thread in my mind now. I live in Korea. I love Korea, for many reasons. But I call it the way I see it, and its nationalism is blindingly idiotic. Of course I can see where it came from, but it's a smokescreen designed to keep the worker-slaves obedient. Arrogance is a by-product.

Regarding the C vs. J insanity, I say that it is patently false. Read outside of the propaganda, and you'll see. It's a silly argument, really.

    Peace.

    Peace.

  • what's Corea?

    that's korea

  • actually KOREA used to be spelt as COREA until japan changed it.
