  • 0:40 Music City Musical Circa 1941! ...the fail version. lol

Teams should do that more often

  • This is a fantastic video (despite the Tar Heel loss), thank you for posting it.

  • notice no arm tackling or leading with the helmet. they actually wrapped up the running back the way you're supposed to. great to see. coaches nowadays should show this video.

  • Was there even a quarterbackk??

  • @lilSB52 yeah, the quarterback was a "blocking back" back in the day. See the guy lined up behind the guard? That's him. Basically, back then your "tailback" was today's quarterback, but they had to be multitalented back then. They had to be able to run, throw, kick, and play defense as well.

  • I like the play calling back in the old days.... Run, Run, Run, Run, Run....that was real football

  • i have never seen a footage of the 1940's in color that sick ! i love it

  • Notice there is no chain gang, just a couple of guys squatting down, Also, on the last play on the video, which is a punt, the other team jumps offside, clearly makes contact, then gets back, but there is no penalty.

Such a treat to see such a high-quality color video this old.

  • Notice no chain gang back then.

  • Yeah. Really amazing film quality for that age.

  • This is cool. Never seen a game this old and in color.

  • Wow, tried the "Music City miracle" throwback on the opening kickoff...

  • wow great quality! duke used to be so good at football

  • Wow. This is better quality than the CSS/Lincoln Financial/Jefferson Pilot feeds that they have nowdays and this is nearly 70 years old.

  • hahah

one player had to go AROUND the referee at 1:32

  • cool to see an old game in color. compared to today it looks like they were in slow motion lol

  • GREAT video - single unit football played the way the game was meant to be played. Note how the non starters are all sitting on the benches. Not one is standing because they know they cannot play under exisitng rules of that era.

I wonder if either team had cheerleaders. Be nice to see what they looked like.

    :)

  • Very cool to see this in color. For 1941, this is pretty good quality.

  • Yeah I know, if I didn't know any better, I'd swear this game is from 1961. The quality is that good!

  • And Wallace Wade Stadium looks about the same today...

  • lol
